Temporary Closure of A303 Eastbound - Hazelgrove Roundabout to Chapel Cross, Chapel Cross to Yarlington Junction, Yarlington Junction to Aldermead. A303 Westbound - Aldermeads to Blackford Junction, Blackford Junction to Chapel Cross, Chapel Cross to Hazelgrove roundabout.

TAKE NOTICE that in pursuance of Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, the County Council of Somerset have made an Order PROHIBITING ALL TRAFFIC from proceeding along A303 Eastbound - Hazelgrove Roundabout to Chapel Cross, Chapel Cross to Yarlington Junction, Yarlington Junction to Aldermead. A303 Westbound - Aldermeads to Blackford Junction, Blackford Junction to Chapel Cross, Chapel Cross to Hazelgrove roundabout from the junction with A359 (New Link Road) eastwards to the junction with Aldersmeads Interchange a total distance of 20,000 metres.

This order will enable Skanska Infrastructure Services to carry out resurfacing works which will be completed in phases.

The Order becomes effective on 15 October 2014 and will remain in force for eighteen months. The works are expected to last for 49 days (Mon to Fri nights only 20.00hrs - 06.00hrs). While the closure is in operation an alternative route will be signed as detailed below.

ALTERNATIVE ROUTE

Traffic wishing to travel Westbound on the A303 between the Wincanton Junction (A371) and the Sparkford Roundabout (A359) will be directed to take the 1st exit from the roundabout to the A371. At the next roundabout the traffic will be directed to take the 1st exit to remain on the A371 (Lawrence Hill) and at the following roundabout will be directed to take the 2nd exit to remain on the A371 (Northbound). At the following roundabout the traffic will be directed to take the 1st exit to remain on the A371 to its Junction with the A359. At this Junction the traffic will be diverted left to take the A359 Southbound to Sparkford Roundabout.

Traffic wishing to travel Eastbound on the A303 between the Sparkford Roundabout (A359) and the Wincanton Junction (A371) will be directed to take the first exit at the roundabout to the A359 Northbound to remain on the A359 to its Junction with the A371. At this Junction the traffic will be directed right onto the A371 Southbound. At the next roundabout the traffic will be directed to take the 2nd exit to remain on the A371 and at the next roundabout to take the 1st exit to remain on the A371 (Lawrence Hill). At the next roundabout the traffic will be directed to take the 1st exit to remain on the A37a and at the following roundabout to take the 3rd exit to rejoin the A303 Eastbound.
