Reflections2015-2016 | 1 Principal’s Message

Congratulations students, parents and teachers on competing a brilliantly successful year. Our students made us proud yet again with their accomplishments - both inside the classroom and out. They excelled in their exams, won awards and participated in national and international competitions. We are proud of them for achieving this honor. We at LGS Paragon firmly believe that learning cannot be con- fined to the classroom alone. The field trips, arts, music and science festival sports events and charity drives that our students organized this year was an attempt to broaden their horizons and help them grow into responsible citizens of the world. A special thank you to every member of the LGS Paragon commu- nity for making this possible. Remember students “Every accomplishment begins with the deci- sion to try”, Do your very best and success will be yours! Look- ing forward to reaching new milestones with you all next year! With best wishes Salman Yasin Principal Coordinator’s Message

Life is beauty, admire it

Life is a dream, achieve it

Life is a challenge, face it

Life is a duty, accept it

Life is a game, play it

Life is a promise, fulfill it

Life I a sorrow, overcome it

Life is a song, sing it

Life is a struggle, endure it

Life is a tragedy, bare it

Life is adventure, dare it

Life is a luck, make it

Life is precious, don’t lose it

LIFE is LIFE, fight for it.

Khatija Meerab Musa 6-A The Unrelenting Nightmares

I sprang up with a jolt, my face wet and sweaty. I was very frightened and was shiv- ering with cold. I opened my mouth to say something but my lips started trembling.

I closed my eyes and recalled the dream to make sense of it. I was in a dark gloomy forest with just a bit of light and I was able to see the outlines of trees in front of me

and everywhere else too, by seeing the trees everywhere around me I was certain I am deep in the forest with those unknown scary creatures which can scrape my skin

from my body. That place was had a strange feeling of horror. My mind was say-

ing go, go explore this place, face the danger but my heart was saying no, no run and save your life this place isn’t good isn’t safe go run along! I was standing there

puzzled and deciding what to do that’s when the creepy tree branches were stoop-

ing on me to grab me. I plunged in horror and started running anywhere my body

took me. My heart was desperate to come out of my body, when my knees started aching and could no longer run that’s when I stopped and sat down on the ground

and buried my head in my knees. My heartbeats still a bit uneven. I started crying and when there were no tears left I began sobbing. At once I felt something oily and oozy dripping from my forehead I wiped my forehead and saw blood on my hands,

I screamed at the top of my voice and that’s when I woke up. I opened my eyes and

knew this dream will be unforgettable

Laiba Shahbaz 6-B The splintered football* (recount )

I was made in a factory, a dirty one indeed. It smelled like rotten eggs, as dirty as it

could be.

I...... am a football.

My brown body with white stripes, my date of birth with a little copyright sign. My

friends and I were transported from Asia to Australia. A

fairly long trip it was. We went to a little shop first where half of us were dropped off. Then came my turn, when I was dropped off at the biggest shop I’ve ever seen, along with my other friends. I was placed in a box where there was no air. Then they

had to print the barcode and for that they chose me! Me! Why me? They printed it

with a marker it with a hand held devise on my skin, it pinched a bit!

Then all my friends were instantly sold and went off with their happy owners. I,

because of the barcode vwasn’t fit for anybody’s liking. Then after 2 years, a little boy came asking for a football and I was the only one left. So he was forced to buy

me and take me home. His parents were kind and didn’t shut me in the cupboard, instead I was placed in the backyard. The boy played with me every day but one day he didn’t come and suddenly I felt like I was being kicked and I flew into the bushes and hit a spike. Then ouch! I was splintered. I stayed there for 30 days when I heard

Michael the boy who bought me, playing. I rolled over to see what was going on.

I saw him playing with another pal, another football! Just then, I saw the ball coming

towards me. Ha! The ball also came where I was sitting for 20 days and then Mi-

chael bought a third ball.

Zahra Bilal 6-B My life as a chair

It all started when I used to be a tree in a beautiful park. Children used to come,

dangle and swing from my branches. It was really painful sometimes, when portly

children, eating all the time, came and hung from my innocent branches. But the

most painful moment of my life was when a grumpy group of men arrived and

chopped me down. I was separated from my roots. Pitty, humans can’t understand

when trees cry, they just can’t see it!

I was taken to a factory. They shaved my outer layer off and did loads of stuff to me. I had to go through a lot of pain and agony, which reminded me of a song full

of sadness. I was converted into timber planks. Then, the person, who owned me, went to a carpenter and told him to convert me into chair, and that is when I realized

that this was just the beginning of my painful life. (Abhi to party shuroo hui hai). I watched the carpenter sharpen up his saw and then reaching for me to use it on me.

I kept on praying to God. I thought to myself that it would be just a matter of few hours. After all of it was over, I was, finally, a chair, all the way from an old tree. The owner wasn’t happy with how I had turned out, so he decided to sell me. But before

he could do that, his savage son hopped on me, and I broke. I was no longer a

“chair” I was an “old chair.”

My owner tried to get me fixed and then to sell me but nobody wanted to buy me, as

I was an “old chair.”My owner’s son, then, used me as a table for his mini collection

of toy cars. Although, I was a chair, nobody really sat on me but toy cars.

Amal Zahra 6-B How can you stay positive when you wear all that negativi- ty? Stop, shrug it off and move on.

You keep knocking at the same door. Why not turn around look about and try a new one? Zainab Batool Mirza 6-B Quotes Storms don’t last forever. You’re a victim of your own mind. Believe in yourself and you will be unstoppable.

There is no one IN the WORLD like you, so DON’T try to be anyone else. Ayla Hamad 6-B Jokes Q1.What goes up but never comes down? Answer. Your age Q2.What did the cat say to tuna Answer. Can I tune you! Q3.Why did the boy sprinkle sugar on his pillow before he went to bed? Answer. So he could have sweet dreams Q4.What is black and white all over and is extremely difficult?

Mom: How did you find the school today?

Daughter: Well I just got of the bus and it was there.

7 Things we should all do

1. The next time someone flips you off, give them the peace sign back.

2. Listen carefully to your words today. Count how many times you use reactive language, such as “You make me…”, “I have to…”, “Why can’t they…”, “I can’t…”.

3. Do something today that you have wanted to do but never dared. Leave your

comfort zone and go for it. Raise your hand in class, or join a team.

4. Write your-self a post it note “I will not let…… decide how I’m going to feel”.

Place it in your note book, on your mirror, or in your planner and refer to it often.

5. At the next party, don’t just sit against the wall and wait for excitement to find

you, you find it. Walk up and introduce yourself to someone new.

6. The next time you get a grade that you think is unfair, don’t blow it off or cry about it, seriously DON’T, discuss it with a teacher and then see what you can learn.

7. If you get in a fight with your parents, friends or siblings be the first to apolo-

gize.

Last Emotion of My Life For those around, I hear cry An awful soft A hopeless sign I hear footsteps leaving Then I know my soul must Fly Within my soul from Head to Toe And then the last emotion of mine OH GOD! OH GOD! I cannot see My eyes are blind Am I still me Or has my soul Been led astray And forced to pay A priceless fee? At last to dust we all return And shall rejoice while others burn At last it comes to Hell or Heaven Decide which now, do not delay. Come on my brother Let us pray Because my emotions are in end. Aania Haris Butt 6-B A Foggy Morning

I woke up on the morning of my first exam and sat on my bed. I

looked at the clock, it was 9 am but the school was supposed to start at 8 am. I got up and went running like a cheetah to my moth- er and asked her why she didn’t wake me up. She said that because

my exam had been cancelled, due to fog. I hadn’t looked out of

the window since I woke up. I rushed to the window and couldn’t see anything outside except thick, white fog. This was the most joy-

ful moment of my life! My exam was cancelled! I told my mother

that after eating breakfast, I wanted to go outside. After breakfast,

I did exactly what I had said, I went out. When I opened my front door, I couldn’t even see my main gate which was about twelve feet

from the door! All I could see was fog. I tried touching the fog but as soon as I was about to touch it, it just disappeared. I felt a lot of moisture in the air. Then, I went inside and played video games all

day.

A Broken Shoe

I am a ‘Broken Shoe’. I was made in Argentina from the best leather. First I

was the skin of a sheep. Then humans slaughtered the sheep pulled me off

from it. Shipped me to a big factory, cut me pieces, stitched those up and

made me into one of their best manufactured football shoe. Then they took me to the Argentina National Football Team. I was taken to an inventory store,

where I left on a shelf for some time. A few days later the storekeeper came and took me to Lionel Andres Messi. He loved me because I fitted his feet per-

fectly. I was so excited and happy that I was Lionel Andres Messi’s shoe.

He wore me on the first game of the FIFA Tournament. He was awesome

throughout the tournament. The final of FIFA was about to start and I was out

there trying to remain calm. The final started fine but after some time I started

to lose grip and leather from my sides was getting out of shape, somehow I

managed to hold myself together until the end of the game, with Argentina

winning the cup. But when the game was over, Messi pulled me off and threw

me into the bin and took out a new pair. After some time, I arrived straight at

the junkyard thinking that I had everything I ever wanted but now I had noth-

ing. That time period was the best part of my life.

Shahmir Zeeshan Kureshi 6-D War or Peace

Once a wise man said, “War is never a lasting solution for anything”. It is never an option to

settle any conflicts it only causes more destruction. It has some disastrous effect on a coun-

try’s economy which has been suffering from it.

Peace is the key to a country’s financial growth and the development of industries in the

country but if there is such a conflict situation most of the countries’ financial resources will

be used for restoration of peace. But in the situation that is in there is no war but

there are some tensions between Pakistan and its’ neighbor, . Hence most of the coun- try’s resources are being used for strengthening of the Armed Forces and on Defense equip-

ment.

If the economy of a country shrinks, it is very hard for the country to get back up and the

trading would also start to cease and as a result there is more poverty in the country. We

have heard of several wars which happened in the last six decades such as the First World

War in which the economy of Germany went down because of their need of advanced

weaponry and vehicles as the British forces had more advanced weaponry. In short, there

are no gains in conducting wars because they only brings death and the trading relation-

ships between two countries are brought to an end.Peace is the concept of harmonious or-

der and free from violent aggression. Peace is the idea of one ideal state of happiness and

can be achieved if everyone works towards it.

Many great thinkers say that there are other ways to resolve conflicts and bring peace to Hu-

manity without taking lives and the financial resources could be used to start social welfare

programmes in different countries and the resources could be used for a good cause and

we could achieve world peace.

Zahra Hussain 8-B A good excuse not to study

Tell me where there is time to study in just 365 days? Days in a year= 365 * sundays =52 (sundays are meant for rest) Days left= 313 * summer vacation= 60 (weather is too hot to study) Days left= 253 * Eight hours daily for sleep= 122 days ( sleep is necessary) Days left= 116 * Two hours daily for food = 30 days ( always chew food properly) Days left= 86 * examination in a year= 30 days (taking exams are necessary) Days left= 31 * other holidays= 20 ( these are for enjoyment) Days left= 11 * illness at least 8 a year= 8 days ( obviously, can’t study) Days left= 3 * result days= 3 ( everyone knows, what happens on result day at home, so can’t study) Days left= 0 So its no fault of a student now!!!
