Legal Studies Highlights: Philip C. Jessup Moot Court Competition (2017–2018) Competitor • Researched complex fact scenario concerning legal status of nuclear weapons under international law and wrote factums arguing either side of the issue. • Made oral submissions at the Canadian Qualifying Rounds in February 2018. o Achieved an average score of 83, and the highest individual score in every round competed in.

Legal Research Assistant (July – November 2017) • Assisted Prof. Brent Cotter with several discussion papers submitted to the Canadian Judicial Council on topics within the field of judicial ethics. • Canvassed hundreds of legal journal articles and other sources to provide a comprehensive picture of academic writing on each given topic.

Academic Exchange – University of Birmingham (2016 – 2017) • Spent 2L year on exchange at the Department of Law in Birmingham, England • Took advantage of unique opportunity to study the common law from the English perspective, as well as international law concepts relevant to the European Union and Brexit. • Achieved an A grade average.

Work Experience: High School English Teacher (volunteer) (June – July 2015) Colegio Eusebio Corazao, Lamay, Peru • Taught English classes to local students aged 12 – 17. • Coordinated with Ministry of Education to develop an effective English curriculum. • Worked within community services including a seniors’ care center and daycare • Worked with local teachers to improve their English and thus the efficacy of English education in the community.
