As we entered 2019, we had the distinct honor of celebrating our bicentennial. On January 21, 1819, the Ohio General Assembly passed an act to create Meigs County. The offi cial formation of Meigs County, the election of the fi rst county offi cials, and the fi rst county meetings, would not occur until April 1819.
