The Methodist Church in Ireland’s NORTH EASTERN DISTRICT is linking with the Methodist Church Ghana’s NORTHERN . Methodist Church Ghana, , began in 1835. It is large and has 854,000 adult members and 317,000 junior members. There are 4,781 congregations, 1,071 ministers and 23,100 local preachers. The church is divided into 21 . MCG provides education, healthcare and community development, as well as committing to evangelism, especially into the north of the country. The Northern Accra Diocese is a new Diocese in the northern part of the capital, Accra.

The Methodist Church in Ireland (MCI) spans two countries: Northern Ireland (part of United Kingdom) and the Republic of Ireland. MCI is relatively small and numbers are declining. It has 3 Districts, 218 congregations, 15,000 members (but a wider community of 45,000), 90 circuit ministers and 156 local preachers. “The Irish North Eastern District has 71 congregations including urban, rural, deprived housing areas and middleclass areas. Pioneer mission reaches out to young people, Belfast city centre, people with mental health issues and students. There is church decline in a secular culture, but the global pandemic has awakened a desire in many for a spirituality that works.
