To be eligible to apply, applicants must meet all the requirements below. 1. Nationality: Non-Korean* ※ To be eligible to apply through this admissions process, applicants and their parents must be nationals (i.e. passport holders) of a country other than Korea. ※ Korean nationals with dual or multiple nationalities are not eligible to apply; this applies to the applicant and both parents. ※ Applicants who have acquired non-Korean nationality after birth are eligible only if the applicant and both parents have acquired the non-Korean nationality prior to the applicant’s enrollment in educational curriculum equivalent to the high school curriculum in Korea. ※ Ewha Womans University accepts applications from female applicants only. ※ Applicants who themselves and/or their parents have ever held Korean nationality must submit additional documents that verify a) the renunciation of Korean nationality and b) the date the non-Korean nationality was acquired; Korean nationality of applicant and both parents must be renounced before the start of the application period. e.g. Family relation certificate (detailed) issued under the applicant’s name that shows the renunciation of Korean citizenship by the Korean government, certificate of removal from family registry, declaration of loss of nationality for both the applicant and parent(s), or certificate of alien registration issued after year 2011, etc. * Application for renunciation of Korean citizenship (ᯰ㚄⽄ㅧ ( 㗷㽋 ) ⼯ㅧㅣ᭣ 㚔゛㠠 ⪒ ㅣ᭣⾟ ) as proof of loss of Korean citizenship is not considered valid. ※ Any document verifying the divorce or death of parent(s) / Proof of parental authority or custody must also be submitted in case of parents’ divorce

2. Education: Applicants to each program must meet the academic requirements below

3. Language Proficiency: Applicants must meet at least one of the following language proficiency requirements A . Undergraduate Freshman Applicants: Test of Proficiency in Korean(TOPIK) Level 3 or above Undergraduate Transfer & Graduate Program Applicants: TOPIK Level 4 or above B. Completion of Level 4 or above of the Korean Language Intensive program at Ewha Language Center C. English Proficiency Test Scores: TOEFL(PBT 550, iBT 80), IELTS 6.0, New TEPS 326 or above D. Completion of high school or university education conducted entirely in Korean or English E. Ewha's recognition that the applicant's level of Korean or English proficiency is equivalent to or higher than the above A-D requirements

- 9 - ※ Applicants applying to a program where all major courses are conducted in English must submit proof of English language proficiency that meets the above C or D requirements. - Undergraduate: Division of International Studies (International Studies, Global Korean Studies) - Graduate: Asian Women’s Studies ※ All language proficiency test scores must remain valid until the document submission deadline to be considered for admission. ※ Applicants admitted to undergraduate programs are required to acquire TOPIK level 4 or above prior to graduation . (Exception: Division of International Studies, where all major courses are conducted in English)

4. Additional Requirements for Graduate Program Applicants

A . Law The Combined Master’s and Doctoral Program in Law is only open to applicants with at least 3 years of legal practice experience. B. Nursing Science The Master’s Programs in Gerontological Nurse Practitioner, Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse, and Advanced Clinical Nursing majors are only open to applicants with at least 3 years of clinical experience in each respective field. C. Medicine - Programs in Clinical Medicine majors (excluding the basic medical science majors) are only open to applicants who have graduated from the College of Medicine - Programs in Dental Medicine are only open to applicants who have graduated from the College of Dentistry D. Early Childhood Education - The Doctoral degree program in Educational Administration in Early Childhood is only open to applicants who have work experience in a field related to early childhood education

Ⅳ. Selection Process

1. Selection Process: Applicants will be selected through a comprehensive evaluation of their academic capability, language proficiency, preparedness in the chosen major, academic motivation, etc. shown in their submitted materials. ※ Some applicants may be contacted individually for a phone or video interview if necessary.

2. Application Fee: 150,000 KRW (or $150 USD) ※ Applicants must make a payment when they submit their online application. A. The commission for the online application process is paid by Ewha Womans University. B. The application cannot be cancelled once it has been submitted and the application fee is nonrefundable. However, if a judgment is made by admissions related committees of Ewha Womans University that there was an unavoidable reason(natural disaster, negligence of the admissions agency, or other reasons not attributable to the applicant), the application fee may be refunded partially or in full. Pursuant to Article 34-4 paragraph 5 of the Higher Education Act, should there be any amount left over after all expenditures related to admission screening have been subtracted from revenue related thereto, it may be returned in proportion to the application fees paid by each applicant.

General Information for All Applicants

1. Applicants may be contacted individually by phone or email for additional documents if necessary. Therefore, it is important that applicants provide an accurate phone number and email address at which they can be directly reached. Ewha Womans University will not be responsible for any disadvantages caused by providing incorrect contact information. 2. Any matter not specified in this admissions guide with regard to the university’s special admissions process for international applicants shall be settled pursuant to the decision of admissions related committees of Ewha Womans University. 3. Details of the selection process and scores will not be disclosed. 4. If a misrepresentation is discovered during the application process, or the applicant is found to have made any alterations to the application materials (including those submitted by a proxy) or perpetrated any type of fraud, the applicant will be denied admission. If the applicant has already registered, they will be asked to leave the University. This applies even if the fraudulence has had no immediate effect on the applicant’s admission. The university may prohibit any and all such applicants whose admission has been revoked due to this issue from reapplying in the future. 5. In case of discrepancies between the Korean version of this admissions guide and English or Chinese versions, the Korean version shall prevail.

Information for Admitted Applicants

1. Submission of Statement of Intent to Register A. Applicants with the intent to enroll must submit the Statement of Intent to Register by the designated date (to be announced). B. The following procedures for entrance will be open only to applicants who have submitted the Statement of Intent to Register.

2. Health Insurance Requirements A. According to the policy of the Ministry of Education pursuant to the revision of the Enforcement Rule of the National Health Insurance Act, international students are subject to mandatory subscription to Korean National Health Insurance. B. Foreigners subscribed to the National Health Insurance must pay their monthly insurance premium. Failure to make the payment may result in restrictions in residence permit, such as visa extensions. C. International students must maintain both national and private health insurance coverage during the period of their enrollment at Ewha. D. Further information will be announced later to admitted students.

- 19 - 3. Tuition Payment A. Admitted applicants with the intent to enroll must make the tuition payment during the designated period(January - February, 2022) to the designated bank account. B. Applicants who have received acceptance letters from more than one university in Korea must choose only one university. Violation of this will result in revocation of admission.

4. Submission of Additional Documents for Admitted Applicants A. Applicants who were not able to submit academic documents issued by foreign schools or universities (such as degree, graduation, enrollment certificates, transcripts, etc.) with Apostille, Consulate certification, or certification report by the Chinese Ministry of Education during the document submission period must submit them by no later than Wednesday, December 29, 2021 to the International Student Affairs Team after being notified of the admissions results. B. Applicants who submitted a certificate of expected graduation (or completion for transfer applicants) during the application period must submit the certificate of graduation (or completion for transfer applicants) by no later than February 28, 2022.

5. Certificate of Admission and Study Abroad Visa A. A Certificate of Admission (CoA) will be issued to those who have a) submitted the “Statement of Intent to Register (SIR)” and applied for a CoA on the SIR, b) completed tuition payment, and c) submitted authenticated academic documents as outlined on pages 14-15. B. Applicants must individually apply for a Study Abroad Visa or for a change to a Study Abroad Visa. C. The status of sojourn allowed to study in Korea is determined pursuant to the guidelines of Korea Immigration Service, which are subject to change and may vary depending on each individual's situation. Thus, please make sure to individually check with Korea Immigration Service.

6. Housing Information A. Applicants can apply for entrance to on-campus housing when submitting the Statement of Intent to Register. B. Rooms will be assigned on a first-come-first-served basis on submission of the Statement of Intent to Register. 7. Orientation for Incoming Students and Course Registration There will be an orientation for incoming international students and course registration in February, 2022.

8. Start of Semester and Medical Check-up 2022 incoming students are required to do a medical check-up administered by Ewha Womans University Health Service Center. If a student is found to have an intractable disease or physical defect that may interfere with her academic performance, she must comply with the University’s decision to take a leave of absence or to make other arrangements.

Qualifications for Entry Successful applicants selected through the special admissions process for international applicants for Spring 2022 ※ The International Student Affairs Team offers assistance to first year international students applying for priority placement into the dormitory, as well as makes all efforts to secure and assign dormitory rooms for those who wish to live on-campus. However, some priority placement applications may be declined depending on the availability of rooms.

When applying for priority placement, applicants must indicate their housing preference for the 2022-Spring/2022-Summer/2022-Fall/2022-Winter terms on the application. ※ Residence for 2022-Spring and 2022-Fall is required; residence for Summer and Winter is optional. ※ From 2023-Spring, students must apply for housing on EUREKA portal system by themselves and get selected through a lottery to receive a housing assignment.

※ Notes: ① Please be careful when selecting the occupancy duration as there is no separate application period for summer and winter housing. ② If an applicant moves out during her residence period in 2022-Spring, her approval for the remaining period (summer/fall/winter) will automatically be rescinded. Application Procedures and Result Notification Applicants should indicate on the Statement of Intent to Register whether they wish to apply for priority placement → Rooms will be assigned on a first-come-first-served basis on submission of the Statement of Intent to Register (announced via personal e-mail around early February 2022) → entrance ※ All rooms are assigned by a computerized lottery system. - Undergraduate & Graduate : single/double/triple/quad room in E-House & single/double room in I-House

E-house is a suite-style dormitory; there are single/double/triple/quad rooms in 4-10 person suites with their own living room, bathroom and shower room Depending on the room type, I-House may or may not have a toilet/shower in the room.
