CHAIRMAN’S MESSAGE Dear Fellow Members It’s always lovely to welcome a new WI and for the se cond month I am able to do this. A very warm welcome to all Abergele members joining our big family here in Clwyd/Denbigh. We look forward to welcoming yo u at our meetings. Congratulations to Eglwysbach and to and Abenbury for winning the scrapbook competition in their classes. They have been sent to Cardiff to be judged in the competition. AGM DELEGATES & OBSERVERS Delegates and Observers going to Brighton for the NFWI Annual Meeting are invited to WI House on Wednesday 18 May at 7pm - information will be given about the arrangements re transp ort, accommodation, etc. A reminder that the tickets will be given out on the coach. Diolch Caroline, Enid, Lea and Liz VOTING PROCEDURE FOR THE RESOLUTIONS AT 2016 ANNUAL MEETING It has been announced that , this year, two Resolutions will be debated at the NFWI Annual Meeting:- 1 Avoid food waste, address food poverty 2 Appropriate care in hospitals for people with dementia All WIs get one vote for each of the resolutions – so please invite the Link Delegate to the May meeting, where she can hear the views of the members and receive instructions as to vote For or Against the resolutions or be given discretion. NB If the delegate is given discretion, then she must decide at the meeting how to vote on behalf of the WI, having heard the discussions both at the WI and the Annual Meeting, where there will be expert speakers in attendance. If, at the Annual Meeting , there is a vote to Move to the Next Business , the delegate can only vote in For or Against the motion, if she has been given discretion. If the WI instructed the delegate to vote For or Against the resolutions, then she has to vote Against the motion. If there are any queries, please contact one of the WI Advisers. The list of Link Delegates is enclosed . I nformation about the Resolutions will be sent to WIs direct by NFWI as will a copy of the Annual Report and Agenda, which the Link Delegate will need for the Annual Meeting. MOODLE If you would like to find your way around MOODLE and have a go, then please come to WI House on Monday 4 July anytime between 12.30 – 3pm. If you can bring your own laptop, iPad or tablet, please do, though there will be la ptops available to use on the day. Please make sure that you bring your MOODLE password and unique MCS number with you, otherwise you won’t be able to access Moodle. Ask your WI MCS rep to register you as an ON Line Learner on MCS. Then NFWI will send you an e mail with your membership number and your password . You can change the password if you don’t like the one that is sent. Once you have these, the world of MOODLE is open to you! We look forward to seeing many members on 4 July. APRIL is MCS MONTH MARCH 500 CLUB DRAW Please can all WI REPs update their MCS - add new Drawn at the Trustees’ Meeting on 14 March 2016 members and delete lapsed members. Please also make 1st - Delyth Turner, Clocaenog WI sure that you include the member’s email address. This will nd - 2 Gwyneth Jones, WI make it possible for you to be registered as an on-line rd learner, with all the opportunities of accessing the MOODLE. 3 - Gwyneth Vaughan, Betws yn Rhos WI ROYAL WELSH SHOW 2016 The Federation heat will be held in WI House on Thursday 23 June 2016 when the entries will be judged by independent judges. All entries must comply with the RWS Rules and On with the Show – cop ies available from WI House and on Moodle . Please let the office know if you wish to take part by Saturday 30 April 2016. Please refer to the February Newsletter for further details or contact the office. HAMDDEN & PERFORMING ARTS (Reminder) - ‘WI’s Got Talent Competition’ - Friday 14 October 2016 .
