Currens has recovered slowly but surely, gradually getting back to the things in life that are most important to her. Among them are spending time with her 7-year-old grandson, keeping up with all that’s happening with her three teenage grandsons in Florida, shopping, and of course, planning for a fun-filled summer.

“I missed out on a lot because I was so sick,” Currens says. “This summer I am getting back to all of the things I love.”

For Currens, a resident of Pasadena, Maryland, summer means spending as much time as possible outdoors. She and her husband enjoy relaxing on their boat, Island Time, and getting away to their secondary home on Fort Meyers Beach in Florida.

“We love traveling to Florida and now that I am healthy again, we can,” Currens adds. “I am very grateful for the care that Dr. Yi and the team at MedStar Harbor provided. Because of them, I can live my life to the fullest again.”
