SAE INTERNATIONAL SAE J2954-2 10 Feb 2017 – SAE J2954-2 Heavy Duty CA Kickoff 3 SAE J2954-2 (HEAVY DUTY) PROPOSAL & SCOPE Mission Statement: - Create a new TIR SAE Document: SAE J2954/2 (Heavy Duty) Wireless Power Transfer within J2954 Taskforce (same as present structure) that pertains to unique aspects of H.D. applications. Scope: - SAE J2954/2 establishes an industry-wide specification guideline that defines acceptable criteria for the interoperability, electromagnetic compatibility, minimum performance, safety, and testing for wireless charging of heavy-duty and offroad BEV and PHEV vehicles and equipment applications. Power Classes for heavy duty vehicles and equipment applications (above 22kW, SAE J2954) according to category will be defined. In addition, vehicle to Ground Assemby (GA) alignment is also included. Harmonization (wherever possible) with SAE J2954 (Light Duty vehicles) standardization will be investigated.
