BRUINS ALUMNI TRAVEL TO CANADA: Members of the Alumni recently traveled to a First Nation Reservation in Opticiwan, Canada to play a series of games against the Atikamekw of Opticiwan as part of the Legends of Hockey Tour. The tour’s mission is to bring some of hockey’s greatest players to Canada’s most rural areas, as many of Canada’s first nations people are isolated geographically but still love hockey. The Bruins alumni in attendance included Andrew Alberts, Ray Bourque, Al Iafrate, Dan LaCouture, Guy Larose, Jay Miller, Terry O’Reilly and Frank Simonetti. The group also visited two schools and held clinics for the local youth hockey teams. Later in the month, on Sunday, November 18, the alumni will head to the New England Sports Center in Marlborough, MA for a game benefitting the Mass Down Syndrome Congress.

MISSION: HEALTHY BABY: Boston Bruins and March of Dimes will be showering 50 expectant moms who are either in the military or have spouses is in the military at a brunch at 11:00 a.m. on Sunday, November 4 at the UMass Club (1 Beacon St, 34th Floor, Boston). Boston Bruins wives and girlfriends will be on hand to help shower the moms-to-be with gifts and helpful information.

LUNCHEON FOR WWII AND KOREAN VETERANS: The Bruins are hosting a private luncheon for 20 WWII and Korean War veterans at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 7 at Warrior Ice Arena in Brighton, MA. The veterans will watch the Bruins practice and then enjoy lunch. Bruins players will spend time with the veterans after practice as well as sign autographs and pose for photos.
