She was principal flutist with the Bay Area Chamber Symphony. She composes and teaches privately. Areon’s mission aims to help guide the future of flute chamber music through diverse and innovative concerts and educational programs. A graduate of the Juilliard School of Music, Dmitriy currently is a Pianist-in-Residence at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music. By the age of 15, she had played as a soloist with orchestra, studied with Jean-Pierre Rampal, and featured on a John Denver nationally televised NBC special. Viviana has performed as a soloist with orchestras around the world in 119 countries. He enjoys a range of different musical styles and is a versatile performer on both modern, early and folk flutes. Lars studied with Tim Day and Wilbert Hazelzet. Rebecca Kleinmann www.rebeccakleinmann.com Internationally performing flutist and singer Rebecca Kleinmann comes from a diverse background in Jazz, Classical, Gospel, Brazilian music and Flamenco. Her “Raio de Sol” CD features an eclectic mix of her arrangements with Grammy musicians. Happily new to the Bay, she performs widely and teaches for Music for Minors, CMC, and privately. Linda Lukas Linda Lukas joined the San Francisco Symphony in 1990. She was previously a member of the San Diego Symphony and Opera, the San Diego Chamber Orchestra, and the Arioso Wind Quintet, which has recorded two CD’s on the Koch label. In addition, Linda has been Principal Flute and frequent soloist of the Sun Valley Summer Sym- phony since 1996, and has been Instructor of Flute at San Francisco State University since 1991. The group was organized in 1999 with seven performers. 10 11 Marion Oliver Marion Oliver, Director of The Champagne Flutes of Vacaville, has a B.A and M.A. in flute performance from Sacramento State University. She is currently 1st chair with the Vallejo Winds, a position she has held for over a decade. In addition to running a music lesson studio and teaching flute choir, she hopes to one day teach at the college level. Teresa Orozco www.sjys.org/flute_home.html Teresa Orozco is the 2nd/assist. principal of the Monterey Symphony and New Music Works. In 1983 she toured with the SF Merola Western Opera Company. Teresa is Mu- sic Apprec/Theory/Band Director at Valley Christian Schools for the Jr. Conservatory, has a private lesson studio in San Jose and is conductor of the Avant Flute Choir of the SJYS for past 9 years.
