The North Pole and Snowflake train crossing the Trinity River before passing a classic Texas ranch below. RDC’s were built by the Budd Company of Philadelphia in the 1950’s and 1960’s. Some of these cars were the original equipment used by Trinity Rail Express before their current train fleet was purchased.

Then it’s through a tunnel and on to Fort Worth.

Leaving Fort Worth, passengers can see the Fort Worth Zoo and the Forest Park Miniature Train.

Getting to the North Pole requires the crossing of bridges, getting around a 12 foot Christmas tree and passage through two tunnels. The main line is more than 125 feet long.

Then it’s across a snowy landscape to reach the North Pole.

The northbound Polar Express passes the southbound Polar Express freight train at Fort Worth. It’s not too unusual for the weather in Fort Worth to vary greatly from Dallas.
