Water Polo Tasmania (WPTAS) warmly welcomes teams, players, parents, friends, referees, coaches, officials and lovers of water polo in Tasmania to the WP club season for 2017. Friday nights at Doone Kennedy Aquatic Centre (DKHAC) are a great Water Polo night out. WE have a total of 40 teams entered this 2017 season throughout the age categories. We hope the club season is successful, enjoyable and fun for all.

Water Polo strongly supports and enforces THINK, ACT, PLAY. Note, this applies to all players, coaches, parents, referees and spectators.

THINK before you speak

ACT with respect PLAY in the spirit of the game

One of the main conditions of THINK, ACT, PLAY is that coaches take on the

responsibility to ensure all athletes line up and shake hands on pool deck

after each game.

RESPECT THE REFEREES: please be mindful that many referees are juniors and should be treated in accordance with THINK! ACT! PLAY! Please do not approach referees immediately after a game for discussions. Save your questions for later please.

3 GAME NIGHT INFORMATION

All games MUST to start on time!!

Please ensure your team is lined up and in the water before the allocated game starting time. Time clocks will start regardless of player readiness and a team will be assumed forfeit if not present four minutes after the game start time.

A scorer from EACH team MUST be at the score table before the game starts. Penalties can apply if a team representative scorer is NOT present. It is the clubs role to do this. If you notice your club does not have a representative at the score table, please step in.

It is NOT the role of WPTAS to do this for clubs (or to search for scorers). SUPPORT YOUR CLUB.

Please do not remove the scoring sheet from the scorers table. Feel free to take a photograph of player cap numbers for your own records.

It is the responsibility of all teams playing the last game of the night (in each pool), to pack up their defensive half. This includes removal of goals and markers to the allocated area outside. Chairs must also be replaced under the grandstand. Any other helpers able to stay for the end of night pack up are greatly appreciated.

Games must start on time to ensure easy transition of referees and athletes between pools and to ensure games do not finish later than 10pm. WPTAS is liable to pay additional fees if games continue late.

4 NEW SCORING CONTROLLERS: Please watch the video on how to use the new score controllers. This can be found on the WPTAS website in the next week. Please note, we are all still learning.
