However, you should not think that it is a matter of host who can boast! Here are some interest- ing facts about the city you will be welcome. Kragujevac is situated in the central part of Serbia on the banks of the Lepenica River, between the flanks of mountains Rudnik, Crni vrh and Gledi´cke planine. The area covers 835 square kilometres at an alti- tude of 173-200 metres. The geographic centre of Serbia is 8 kilometres northwest of the city centre. Kragujevac is the fifth largest city in Ser- bia (after Belgrade, Novi Sad, Niˇsand Priˇstina)with around 190,000 inhabitants and is recognised as the driver of the industrial, economic, cultural and educational development of Sumadijaˇ and Pomoravlje. In the area of Kragujevac, there are numerous material remains from pre- historic period. Illyrians, Romans, and later Slavs significantly affected the development of this region. The town was first recorded in the Ot- toman population census (defter) in 1476 as Kragujfoˇca(although some other sources included different names Kragujevdˇzand Karagovindˇza). The name of Kragujevac is connected with the bird \kraguj" { a species of the hawk used for hunting. On May 6, 1818, at the Assembly of National Elections in the Mona- stery Vra´cevˇsnica,Kragujevac was elected the capital. Before the relo- cation of the capital to Belgrade, Kragujevac evolved as the first cultural and educational centre. Thus, in 1807 was established the elementary school which was attended by male children; the Gymnasium followed in 1833; Licej (the forerunner of Belgrade University) started in 1838; the General-craft School opened in 1845; the Military-craft School began its work in 1845 and the Teachers' Training School was established in 1870. 11 12 SMAK 2018, Kragujevac, Serbia The College for females was founded in 1891, and in 1903 the Teachers Training School for females was opened. For the first time in the history of the Serbian state, a whole set of institutions were established in Kragujevac. The first judicial insti- tution, the Court of Kragujevac, was established in 1820. The first newspaper, \Novine srbske", were moved from Belgrade to Kragujevac in 1834. During this period, a Slavo-Serb writer Joakim Vuji´cestab- lished the theatre in Kragujevac { Knjaˇzevsko-srpski teatar { in 1835, and then, as the musical program accompanying the main event, the choir { Knjaˇzevsko-srbska banda { appeared under the leadership of the chapel-master, Josip Schlesinger. During the First World War, Kragujevac was once again the capital city where the Regent Aleksandar Karad-ord-evi´cresided as well as the Supreme Command of the Serbian Army led by the general Radomir Putnik. As an important strategic centre, Kragujevac was frequently demolished in both wars. In the Second World War, in the mass shooting of the civilian population on October 21, 1941, the Germans killed about 7,000 people residing in Kragujevac, including 300 pupils and fifteen children aged 8-12 years. The city was freed on October 21, 1944. The commemorative event \Great School Lesson" { Veliki ˇskolski ˇcas { was held for

The data have been obtained and XML-annotated using the Python program- ming language and the libraries lyricsmas- ter/yattag. The corpus has been preprocessed and basic statistical data have been gener- ated by the XSL transformation. The diacritic restoration has been carried out in the Slovo Majstor and LeXimir tools (the latter appli- cation has also been used for generating the frequency analysis). The extraction of socio- cultural topics has been performed using the Unitex software, whereas the prevailing top- ics have been visualised with the TreeCloud software. KEYWORDS: corpus linguistics, Yugoslav rock and roll, web scraping, natural language processing, text mining. PAPER SUBMITTED: 15 April 2019 PAPER ACCEPTED: 19 June 2019 1 This paper originates from the author’s Master’s thesis “Creation and Analysis of the Yugoslav Rock Song Lyrics Corpus from 1945 to 2003”, which was defended at the University of Belgrade on March 18, 2019. The thesis was conducted under the supervision of the Prof. Dr Ranka Stankovi´c,who contributed to the topic’s formulation, with the remark that the year of 1945 was replaced by the year of 1967 in this paper.

  • A Tourist Guide to the RCSR
A tourist guide to the RCSR Some of the sights, curiosities, and little-visited by-ways Michael O'Keeffe, Arizona State University RCSR is a Reticular Chemistry Structure Resource available at http://rcsr.net. It is open every day of the year, 24 hours a day, and admission is free. It consists of data for polyhedra and 2-periodic and 3-periodic structures (nets). Visitors unfamiliar with the resource are urged to read the "about" link first. This guide assumes you have. The guide is designed to draw attention to some of the attractions therein. If they sound particularly attractive please visit them. It can be a nice way to spend a rainy Sunday afternoon. OKH refers to M. O'Keeffe & B. G. Hyde. Crystal Structures I: Patterns and Symmetry. Mineral. Soc. Am. 1966. This is out of print but due as a Dover reprint 2019. POLYHEDRA Read the "about" for hints on how to use the polyhedron data to make accurate drawings of polyhedra using crystal drawing programs such as CrystalMaker (see "links" for that program). Note that they are Cartesian coordinates for (roughly) equal edge. To make the drawing with unit edge set the unit cell edges to all 10 and divide the coordinates given by 10. There seems to be no generally-agreed best embedding for complex polyhedra. It is generally not possible to have equal edge, vertices on a sphere and planar faces. Keywords used in the search include: Simple. Each vertex is trivalent (three edges meet at each vertex) Simplicial. Each face is a triangle.

ELLEN HARVEY Nostalgia ELLEN HARVEY Nostalgia October 27 - December 23, 2017 DANESE COREY 511 W 22 ST NY NY 10011 212. 223.2227 . DANESECOREY.COM Arcade /Arcadia From the outside, the viewer sees an old-fashioned aluminum fairground sign spelling out the word “ARCADIA” in six-foot high letters leaning against a framework shack. The font is based on the sign for Margate’s currently shuttered Dreamland Amusement Park. Inside, the viewer finds himself within a mirrored panorama of a down-at-heels seaside resort. The 34 mirrors are mounted onto thin light boxes so that the en- gravings appear as lines of light floating on the mirrored surfaces and viewers see themselves inside an endlessly mirrored 360 degree draw- ing of contemporary Margate, as seen from the beach. The structure is a ¾ scale replica of the gallery that J.M.W. Turner built to display his works in London, and the dimensions and arrangement of the mirrors replicate those of the paintings that were in the gallery upon his death – some hanging on the walls, some leaning casually on the floor. The sign on the outside of the piece references not only Turner’s experience of Margate as an Arcadian site of escapist pleasure (where he lived happily in sin with his landlady and raved about the town’s light and natural beauties), but also the amusement arcade aesthetic that came to dominate the seaside experience – paradoxically destroying the very natural beauty that initially attracted visitors. Similarly the end- lessly mirroring mirrors inside reference a fun-house experience – viewers finds their reflections inserted in to a drawing in light of a present distorted by the use of past aesthetics.

doi: 10.32023/0001-5237/69.1.6 ACTA ASTRONOMICA Vol. 69 (2019) pp. 79–85 RW Tri – its Negative Superhumps and System Parameters J. Smak N. Copernicus Astronomical Center, Polish Academy of Sciences, Bartycka 18, 00-716 Warsaw, Poland e-mail: [email protected] Received February 20, 2019 ABSTRACT Negative superhumps are detected in the light curves of RW Tri observed in September 1994 and November/December 1957. New system parameters, obtained using K2 and V2,rot sini and q 11 (estimated from PnSH ), are M1 = 0.60±0.20M⊙ , M2 = 0.48±0.15M⊙ , A = 1.13±0.09×10 cm and i = 72.◦5 ± 2.◦5. Key words: Accretion, accretion disks – novae, cataclysmic variables – Stars: individual: RW Tri 1. Introduction RW Tri is a nova-like cataclysmic binary. It was discovered as an eclipsing binary with Porb = 0.23188 d by Protitch (1937) and during the next 80 yr was observed photometrically and spectroscopically by many authors. The light curves of RW Tri (Smak 1995 and references therein) are peculiar. In the phase interval between φorb ≈ 0.7 and 0.9, where an orbital hump (due to the hot spot) should normally be present, the light curve is either nearly flat or even shows a depression (cf. Fig. 1 in Smak 1995). Similar effects were observed in the ultraviolet (Mason et al. 1997). This was originally misinterpreted (Smak 1995) as being due to unspecified “circumdisk absorption”, but it is now obvious that it is due to the effects of stream overflow (cf. Smak 2007). The spectrum of RW Tri (Kaitchuck et al.
