An Historical Note The Walled Garden once formed part of the Knill Court Estate, of which the Court no longer exists.

At the turn of the 20th Century there were probably at least three gardener’s cottages forming part of the wall of the garden. In the mid to late 1900’s these were amalgamated to create The Walled Garden as it is today. Situation The small hamlet of Knill is some 4 miles south west of Presteigne. In the most perfect of settings, tucked away and yet very accessible, this is the perfect spot for tranquil living. The house has a wonderful southerly aspect looking over its mature beautiful garden. The Hindwell Brook, which eventually flows into the , between Shobdon and Presteigne, mainly forms the southern boundary. Description The lane to Knill ends at The Walled Garden, having passed St Michael’s church. The drive crosses a gated cattle grid and sweeps around the curved wall of the garden and under an arch with a courtyard clock above, to the back of the house. The setting is special. There are three entrances into the house along this elevation, the formal one being a Porch leading into a Hall with the front staircase and cloakroom.
