Delays: the Parish Office and Preschool open at the delayed time, and any activities scheduled before that time are cancelled. Closures: the Parish Office and Preschool are closed, and all activities at the parish are cancelled. Cancellations: when APS close early and/or cancel evening activities, the Parish Office and Preschool will close early and all evening activities at the parish are cancelled.
Masses and Confessions are never cancelled but always take place as scheduled.

CLARIFICATION: MONTHLY PARISH “BUILDING FUND” SECOND COLLECTION On the first Sunday of each month we take up a parish second collection for our “Building Fund,” which was traditionally used to pay down our building debt. Since we paid off all our debt last year (thanks to you–yay!), this scollection is now used to maintain our buildings. To make that clearer, we are changing the name to the “Building Maintenance Collection.” Thanks for your continued generosity in this collection, which helps us maintain our extensive but aging physical plant.

St. Charles Early Childhood Education Center - Did you know…Our parish preschool is the largest Early Childhood program in Arlington County! The 185 students benefit spiritually from weekly Chapel time in the former convent chapel, attending three annual prayer services in the Church for major liturgical celebrations, and most students also have the chance to participate in Catechesis of the Good Shepherd on a weekly basis.

Advocacy Issues - The Virginia Assembly will be voting on several key legislative issues over the next couple months. One legislation is the Equal Rights Amendment, which "at first glance appears to be a neutral measure advocating for the equality of women which is a worthy endeavor; however, the ambiguity of the language disguises significant negative consequences and legal uncertainty particularly when it comes to protecting the unborn." Formación Religiosa: En el evangelio de hoy, san Lucas nos habla de cómo Jesús en su primera manifestación pública entusiasma a los oyentes, pero cuando descubren que es el hijo del carpintero la cosa cambia, lo rechazan, lo dejan de lado. Para su propio pueblo no puede ser un profeta, un enviado de Dios. Pero Jesús sigue expresando lo que piensa, no callo y con serenidad pasa en medio de ellos y continúa su vida.
