YFC Classes Class 1a - YFC Conventional Open to any YFC Member using a conventional plough, each competitor must be a paid up member of a club affiliated to a national federation of Young Farmers Clubs.

Class 1b - YFC Reversable Open to any YFC Member using a Reversable plough, each competitor must be a paid up member of a club affiliated to a national federation of Young Farmers Clubs.

Open Classes Class 2 - Open to anyone using a 2 furrow conventional plough. (National rules apply)

Class 3 - Open to anyone using a conventional plough with 3 or more furrows

Class 4 - Classic Open to anyone using a tractor manufactured before December 1976 with out a Q cab, using a plough manufactured at the time. No hydraulic rams or match ploughs.

Class 5 - Vintage Trailed Open to anyone using a tractor manufactured before December 1959 using a trailed plough manufactured at the time.

Class 6 - Vintage Mounted Open to anyone using a tractor manufactured before December 1959 using a hydraulic plough manufactured at the time. No Hydraulic rams or match ploughs

Beaminster YFC Classes

Class 7 - 2 & 3 Furrows (Must be a paid up member of Beaminster Young Farmers)

Class 8 - 4 or more furrows (Must be a paid up member of Beaminster Young Farmers)

Class 9 - Ex Beaminster Young Farmer

Prizes Prize cards will be awarded for each class up to 4th place

Additional prizes will be awarded, which include:  Best looking tractor and plough  Best work done by a John Deere  Best work done by a Case International  Best work done by a Ford or Fordson and Ransome Plough  Best Bye, Finish, Ins and outs.

Rules and Conditions  Rules for Reversable/Commercial Classes will be available on the day of the match.  One 3 sighting poles to be used. No rolling of the split.  Competitiors must report to the tent by 9.30am. Ploughing to commence 10am.  Complete split by 10.30am or 7 penalty points may be incurred.  Work will restart when the judge says and ploughing must be finished by 2.30pm. Points will be deducted for late finish.  Double split method of opening to be used. After Judging plough 3 times arround, opening and then throw abroad against the plot adjacent to the higher number.  Each competitiors finish furrow to be thrown towards his own ridge.  Minimum depth 5”, maximum 8” unless stated on the day.  The Committee reserve the right to amalgamate any class if insufficient entries are received.  Skimmers must be used.  Plough bodies must be in the ploughing position at all times.  Vary width ploughs must be set at the commencement of the match and not altered.  Pressing of the ridge by hand, foot or boot, slide dollies or any other machinery not at work is forbidden.  Points will be deducted if plot numbers are lost.  The committee and land owner accept no liability what so ever for damage or injury sustained at the event.  All trophys must be signed for at the tent and returned in good clean condition. Any damage must be paid for.  Score sheets are only available after results are given.  Judges decision is final.
