Radio Stations KLQV (FM) and KLNV (FM), , CA Radio San Diego

The purpose of this EEO Public File Report (“Report”) is to comply with Section 73.2080(c) (6) of the FCC’s 2002 EEO Rule. This Report has been prepared on behalf of the Station Employment Unit that is comprised of the following station(s): KLQV(FM) and KLNV(FM), San Diego, and is required to be placed in the public inspection files of these stations, and posted on their websites, if they have websites.

The information contained in this Report covers the time period beginning July 22, 2017 to and including July 31, 2018 (the “Applicable Period”).

The FCC’s 2002 EEO Rule requires that this Report contain the following information:

1. A list of all full-time vacancies filled by the Station(s) comprising the Station Employment Unit during the Applicable Period;

2. For each such vacancy, the recruitment source(s) utilized to fill the vacancy (including, if applicable, organizations entitled to notification pursuant to Section 73.2080(c)(1)(ii) of the new EEO Rule, which should be separately identified), identified by name, address, contact person and telephone number;

3. The recruitment source that referred the hiree for each full-time vacancy during the Applicable Period;

4. Data reflecting the total number of persons interviewed for full-time vacancies during the Applicable Period and the total number of interviewees referred by each recruitment source utilized in connection with such vacancies; and

5. A list and brief description of the initiatives undertaken pursuant to Section 73.2080(c) (2) of the FCC rules.

Appendices 1, 2 and 3 which follow have been designed, in the aggregate, to provide the required information. For purposes of this Report, a vacancy was deemed “filled” not when the offer was extended but when the hiree accepted the job offer. A person was deemed “interviewed” whether he or she was interviewed in person and/or over the telephone.

Univision Radio, San Diego, continues to make regular on-air announcements inviting interested parties who might wish to receive employment notices to contact, Laura Wright, HR Manager. The employment unit has not received any requests for job opening notifications during this period.

Section 3: Supplemental (Non-Vacancy Specific) Recruitment Activities Undertaken

Internship Program:

Established an internship program to assist community students acquire skills in broadcasting. During the reporting period, the Sales Department had an intern (Fall of 2017) from the University of San Diego Business Administration in Marketing.

Participated in Job/Career Fairs:

April 11, 2018 – Career Pathways to Success Job Fair hosted by National City Chamber of Commerce. KLNV and KLQV stations were represented by Nate Mendoza, Activations Manager and Mery Lopez-Gallo, Director, Community Empowerment. They answered job seekers questions regarding employment opportunities available at Univision.

Participated in Events Sponsored by Educational Institutions:

1. San Diego State University “Radio in the Digital Age”. On October 2, 2017, Sabina Widmann, VP, Regional Radio General Manager was invited as a guest speaker by the School of Journalism where she had the opportunity to speak to students. Radio industry topics included the strength of Radio as a medium and the various positions/roles in the Radio stations at Univision Radio in San Diego.

2. Career Fair at Barrio Logan College - February 15, 2018, Mery Lopez Gallo and Bianca Roman participated at this event. High School, Middle School and Elementary students had the opportunity to experience, learn, and ask questions regarding what to expect when seeking employment in the broadcast/media industry.

3. University of San Diego/School of Business – On March 8, 2018, Carlos Munoz, Account Executive and Mery Lopez-Gallo were invited to participate in the “Meet the Marketers” interactive event where they had the opportunity to talk to at least 200 students about careers in the Radio industry.

4. May 17, 2018 Univision Radio in San Diego hosted students from High Tech High Chula Vista. High School Students were given a tour of our broadcast studios and recorded a video interview with Mery Lopez-Gallo, Director, Community Empowerment on why citizens should participate with their vote on elections. Bilingual students were

also interviewed for our Community Affairs Radio program about their school humanities project.

Participation in Job Banks:

California Broadcasters Association and Southern California Broadcasters Association, job banks of media trade groups with broad-based membership (including women and minorities) was utilized for all the job positions filled during the reporting period.

Establishment of In-House EEO Training

The employment unit provides training and information to management level personnel as to methods of ensuring equal employment opportunity and preventing discrimination. On July 19, 2018 Laura Wright, Human Resources Manager conducted EEO Training for all our department heads that have hiring power.

Among the unit’s other efforts, on June 16, 2018, a memo was sent to staff reiterating our Equal Employment Opportunity policy.
