SOUND OF JAZZ concert series

Each fall, JAZZ.FM91 presents our annual Sound of Jazz concert series: six unique concert events featuring an all-star mix of Canadian jazz legends and talented newcomers. For 44 years, Sound of Jazz concerts have entertained thousands of attendees of all ages with a rich spectrum of jazz, and they’ve been captured live for re-broadcasts every Sunday on the Sound of Jazz program. With three levels of sponsorship available and the ability to customize our partnership opportunities to meet a client’s individual needs, sponsorship of the Sound of Jazz concert series provides clients with a 360-degree marketing solution that includes on-air, online, and on-site advertising that can help drive brand awareness and deliver tactical messaging.

JAZZ LIVES marquee event

Since 2005, JAZZ.FM91’s annual marquee fundraising event JAZZ LIVES has featured some of the most talented jazz artists from Canada and around the world. Branford Marsalis, Holly Cole, Pat Metheny, Robi Botos, Al Jarreau, Gregory Porter and Peter Appleyard are just a few of the outstanding performers that have graced the JAZZ LIVES stage. Proceeds from the concert support the radio station’s many community outreach initiatives, including our youth education and scholarship programs and our in-hospital music therapy program. LIVE TO AIR CONCERT SERIES

The Live to Air concert series is an essential part of JAZZ.FM91’s programming. Hosted in the Long & McQuade Performance Hall to an intimate gathering of 50 listeners, each concert features a live performance and interview with top jazz talent from around the world that is broadcast live to our radio audience and recorded for future broadcast on the Sound of Jazz program heard Sundays from 4 to 5 p.m. Past artists featured as part of the Live to Air concert series include Diana Krall, Harry Connick Jr., Melody Gardot, Jon Batiste, Jim Cuddy, Bill Charlap and Snarky Puppy. This concert series features a minimum of eight live performances each year.
