    NBA ANNOUNCES AFFILIATIONS WITH NBA DEVELOPMENT LEAGUE FOR 2010-11 SEASON - Dallas Mavericks Begin Affiliation with Frisco-Based Texas Legends - NEW YORK , July 6, 2010 – The National Basketball Association and the NBA Development League, the official minor league of the NBA, today announced the affiliation system for the 2010-11 season, including first-time affiliations between the Dallas Mavericks and the Frisco-based Texas Legends, new to the NBA D-League for the 2010-11 season; the Los Angeles Lakers and the Bakersfield Jam; the Golden State Warriors and the Reno Bighorns; and the Orlando Magic and the New Mexico Thunderbirds. For the sixth consecutive year, each NBA team has one NBA D-League affiliate to which it may assign players in their first or second NBA season. “The direct affiliation between NBA and NBA D-League teams continues to benefit players, coaches, and basketball fans," said Dan Reed, NBA D-League President. "Nearly one-third of all NBA Draft picks have played for their NBA D-League affiliate since the program's inception, and these affiliate relationships are a key reason why 20 percent of all NBA players have NBA D-League playing experience." Entering the sixth year of direct affiliations between NBA and NBA D-League, a number of teams continue to build on strong affiliation relationships developed over past seasons. The Washington Wizards begin their fifth year as the parent club of the Dakota Wizards (Bismarck, N.D.), while the Minnesota Timberwolves and Sioux Falls Skyforce (S.D.) have also been affiliated since the 2006-07 season.

    NBA G League Tips Off Feb. 10 At Disney NEW YORK, Jan. 27, 2021 – The NBA G League today released its game and telecast schedules for 2021 play, which will tip off on Wednesday, Feb. 10. The full 135- game schedule will be played at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex at Walt Disney World Resort near Orlando, Fla. Eighteen teams, including 17 NBA G League teams and NBA G League Ignite, will each play 15 games from Feb. 10 – March 6. The top eight teams will advance to a single-elimination playoff, which will begin on March 8 and conclude with the NBA G Final presented by YouTube TV on March 11. The 2021 competition tips off when NBA G League Ignite, the recently launched team for NBA Draft-eligible players, makes its debut against NBA veteran Jeremy Lin and the Santa Cruz Warriors on Feb. 10 at 11 a.m. ET on ESPN2. The first day of play continues with 10 other NBA G League teams facing off in five additional games.     ERIE’S MALIK ROSE NAMED NBA G LEAGUE BASKETBALL EXECUTIVE OF THE YEAR NEW YORK, March 31, 2018 – Erie BayHawks General Manager Malik Rose has been named the 2017-18 NBA G League Basketball Executive of the Year, as selected by his fellow NBA G League basketball executives. In his first season as an NBA G League general manager, Rose oversaw a team that finished with a 28-22 record and reached the playoffs as the third seed in the Eastern Conference. Erie, in its first season as the NBA G League affiliate of the Atlanta Hawks, will play host to the Lakeland Magic in a first-round, single-elimination playoff game today (3 p.m. ET, ESPNews). Before the season, Rose hired former New York Knicks assistant coach Josh Longstaff as the BayHawks’ head coach. Under Longstaff, Erie went 17-7 in its final 24 games and clinched the Southeast Division title on the last day of the regular season. Rose’s player acquisitions included NBA veteran Jeremy Evans (15.3 ppg for Erie), forward Raphiael Putney (16.3 ppg, 8.2 rpg) in the ninth round of the 2017 NBA G League Expansion Draft and guard Jaylen Morris (12.6 ppg) in the second round of the 2017 NBA G League Draft. Morris earned a GATORADE Call-Up to Atlanta on Feb. 28 and signed a multiyear contract with the team on March 21. Under Rose’s leadership, the BayHawks helped develop Atlanta rookies Tyler Cavanaugh, Tyler Dorsey, Josh Magette and Andrew White III. Magette, a two-way player, averaged an NBA G League-high 10.2 assists to go with 15.1 points per game during the regular season.

These events challenge our small staff, but we consistently rise to the occasion in order to serve the listening community and especially those who support our operation. KVC_aRts – This month, KVC_aRts featured two interviews from the SBVC family for inclusion in our weekly arts and entertainment program on radio, KVC_aRts. The first was with Professor Margaret Worsley from the Performing Arts Department at San Bernardino Valley College. KVCR’s Lillian Vasquez interviewed Maggie Worsley who runs the Instrumental Music Program at SBVC. The Worsley segment aired June 7th episode and June 11 repeat of KVC_aRts. More recently, Chris Clarke, the retiring SBVC Planetarium Specialist, was interviewed by 91.9 KVCR Program Manager, Rick Dulock. This segment aired June 14 and 19. WELCOME BACK – KVCR Producer, David Fleming returned to work for half days on June 12. He had been out with a severe case of pneumonia and spent 17 days in the hospital. David will be working afternoons and mentoring our Professional Expert, Isel Cuapio as she covers the live – on air hosting operations of All Things Considered during Rick Dulock’s vacation.
