    MICHIGAN MEMORIAL HIGHWAY ACT Act 142 of 2001 AN ACT to consolidate prior acts naming certain Michigan highways; to provide for the naming of certain highways; to prescribe certain duties of the state transportation department; and to repeal acts and parts of acts and certain resolutions. History: 2001, Act 142, Imd. Eff. Oct. 26, 2001. The People of the State of Michigan enact: 250.1001 Short title. Sec. 1. This act shall be known and may be cited as the "Michigan memorial highway act". History: 2001, Act 142, Imd. Eff. Oct. 26, 2001. 250.1002 Markers; erection and maintenance; private contributions. Sec. 2. The state transportation department shall only provide for the erection and maintenance of suitable markers at the approach of any of the highways described in this act when sufficient private contributions are received to pay the cost of erecting and maintaining those markers.
