NOMINATIONS FOR VACANT DIRECTOR’S POSITION

The Board requests nominations for the position of Director (Casual Vacancy – 12 months). In line with previous practice, expressions of interest are called from members wanting to fill this vacancy.

The nominations are now open, nominations forms are available from the office and must be signed by the nominee, and two ordinary members.

The Board has determined that this is a casual vacancy under the terms of rule 50.1 (e). This Board vacancy will be subject to the schedule in rule 37.1 specifically clause 4.1 and the appointment will be made in accordance with rule 50.2.

Nomination forms shall be lodged with the Secretary no later than 5.00 pm on Thursday 23rd May 2019.

Interviews for the vacant position will be held on Monday 27th May 2019. The casual vacancy will be filled until the next AGM in 2020. The Board will advise the members of the appointment in due course.

A reminder to all male golfers that the Annual Meeting of the Men’s Golf Committee will be held at the clubhouse on Wednesday 29th of May at 6:00pm.

The Men’s Championship commenced last Saturday with an excellent field of 94 players. This is a great result so let us hope we have great weather and the scoring is likewise.

A reminder that Howlong Golf Club has not adopted the local rule which allows players to drop the ball where it went out of bounds. Please be aware of this and alert any visitor who has been wrongly advised on this rule.
