2020-2021 SWIMMING & DIVING RECORD BOOK 3 INTRODUCTION NCAA CHAMPIONSIPS & THE SOUTHEASTERN CONFERENCE Setting the Standard for Intercollegiate Athletics in Swimming and Diving

Over the course of several decades, the Southeastern Conference has been a constant force in swimming and diving.

Last season, Tennessee’s Women earned the highest finish an the SEC Championships, with a score of 1108. Florida was a close second after totaling a final score 1079.50. Kentucky, Georgia, and Auburn rounded out the top-five from inside the James E. Martin Aqautics Center on the campus of Auburn. The 2020 NCAA Championships were cancelled due to the COVID-19 Pandemic.

On the men’ s side, Florida blew away the competion by winning by over 218 points. The Gators finished with a team score of 1194 to claim the SEC Title. Texas A&M followed the Gators, finishing second with a team score of 975.50. Georgia, Alabama, and Missouri rounded out the top-five. The Men’s NCAA Championships were cancelled due to the COVID-19 Pandemic.

Manny Vazquez Bas was named Co-Male Freshman Diver of the Year and HIGHLIGHTS was named to the All-SEC Second Team as well as the All-Freshman Team. This season, Vazquez Bas earned the bronze on platform with a score of Freshman stamped his name in the LSU record books after 393.60, finished in seventh place on three-meter with a score of 345.00, a historic freshman campaign. He was named Male Freshman Swimmer and 11th place on one-meter with a score of 304.30. He was the only of the Year and was named to the All-SEC First Team and Freshman Team freshman diver who medaled and scored more points than any other for his success throughout the season. He made a splash in a freshman freshman diver at the SEC Championships. At the 2020 NCAA Zone D season that included three individual school records and four relay school Diving Regional, he qualified for the NCAA Championships on three-meter records.
