Chad Wingard was drafted by the Port with the 6th selection in the 2011 AFL Draft. A full pre-season saw Wingard debut in round 1 and go on to play 19 games in his debut season. In just his second season Wingard would prove to be one of the most dynamic forwards in the competition, 43 goals from 23 games including three finals would see Wingard selected for his first All-Australian honor at the age of 20. Wingard continued his form over the next two seasons kicking 43 and 53 goals each year to make it a total of 139 goals as a small forward from 2013-2015. Unfortunately a mixture of injuries would restrict Wingards consistency over the following years forcing a change following the 2018 season. Hawthorn had requested a trade for the exciting small forward which would see him move to Victoria until 2023.

Chad is really passionate about his culture and heritage. He is forever supporting the acknowledgement of the impact of Indigenous people have had and where Australia is today
