FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Jerry Miculek of Team Smith & Wesson Captures USPSA National Title Miculek Earns 6th National Revolver Championship SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (September 18, 2008) – Smith & Wesson Corp., announced today that Professional Shooter Jerry Miculek was the overall winner of the Revolver Division at the Smith & Wesson United States Practical Shooting Association (USPSA) Limited Production and Revolver Nationals held in Tulsa, Oklahoma, September 6-9, 2008. Miculek, who successfully defended his title from the previous year while claiming his sixth National Revolver Championship, won the division title by a convincing margin of 225 points. Conducted at the United States Shooting Academy, the 2008 USPSA Nationals featured 19 stages of fire with varying degrees of difficulty, as competitors were required to draw their firearms, negotiate obstacles, and shoot on the move, all while engaging a variety of steel and paper targets. Miculek, competing with a Smith & Wesson Model 625, finished first in 12 out of the 18 stages of fire. Team Smith & Wesson member Annette Aysen also had a strong showing in the Revolver Division, earning the prestigious High Lady award while placing 15th overall. “I always look forward to competing at the USPSA Nationals,” said Smith & Wesson Champion shooter Jerry Miculek. “Even though the courses of fire require a great amount of concentration, they have their own uniqueness that makes them a lot of fun to attend. I felt very confident going into each day of the match and I think it showed in my shooting. The match was full of great competitors again this year and that certainly added to the challenge.” “The 2008 season has been highlighted with numerous top performances from Smith & Wesson team members,” said Tom Taylor, Smith & Wesson’s Vice President of Marketing. “Not only has Jerry continued to amaze us with his remarkable shooting talents, but we have also seen other members, such as Annette Aysen, take tremendous strides over the season. We are extremely pleased with the achievements of all of our shooters. They have not only done an outstanding job demonstrating the capabilities of our products, but also representing Smith & Wesson at the highest levels.” About Smith & Wesson Smith & Wesson Holding Corporation, a global leader in safety, security, protection and sport, is parent company to Smith & Wesson Corp., one of the world’s largest manufacturers of quality firearms and firearm safety/security products and parent company to Thompson/Center Arms, Inc., a premier designer and manufacturer of premium hunting rifles, black powder rifles, interchangeable firearms systems and accessories under the Thompson/Center brand.
