ויקרא י״ב:א׳-ט״ו:ל״ג Leviticus 12:1-15:33 (א) ַו ְי ַד ֵ֥בּר ה' ֶאל־ ֹמ ֶ ֥שׁה ֵלּא ֹֽמר׃ (ב) ַדּ ֵ֞בּר (The LORD spoke to Moses, saying: (2 (1) ֶאל־ ְבּ ֵ֤ני ִי ְשׂ ָר ֵא ֙ל ֵלא ֹ֔מר ִא ָשּׁ ֙ה ִ ֣כּי ַת ְז ִ֔ר ַיﬠ Speak to the Israelite people thus: When a woman at childbirth bears a male, she ְו ָי ְל ָ ֖דה ָז ָ ֑כר ְו ָֽט ְמ ָא ֙ה ִשׁ ְב ַ ֣ﬠת ָי ִ֔מים ִכּי ֵ֛מי ִנ ַ ֥דּת shall be unclean seven days; she shall be ְדּ ֹו ָ ֖תהּ ִתּ ְט ָֽמא׃ (ג) וּ ַב ֖יּוֹם ַה ְשּׁ ִמיִ ֑ני ִי ֖מּוֹל ְבּ ַ ֥שׂר unclean as at the time of her menstrual ָﬠ ְר ָל ֽתוֹ׃ (ד) ְוּשׁ ִ ֥שׁים יוֹ ֙ם ְוּשׁ ֣ ֶשׁת ָי ִ֔מים infirmity.— (3) On the eighth day the flesh ֵתּ ֵ֖שׁב ִבּ ְד ֵ֣מי ָט ֳה ָ ֑רה ְבּ ָכל ֣ ֹ־ק ֶדשׁ ֽלֹא־ ִת ָ֗גּע (of his foreskin shall be circumcised.— (4 She shall remain in a state of blood ְו ֶאל ַ־ה ִמּ ְק ָדּ ֙שׁ ֣לֹא ָת ֔בֹא ַﬠד־ ְמ ֖לֹאת ְי ֵ֥מי purification for thirty-three days: she shall ָט ֳה ָֽרהּ׃ (ה) ְו ִאם־ ְנ ֵק ָ ֣בה ֵת ֔ ֵלד ְו ָט ְמ ָ ֥אה ְשׁ ֻב ַ ֖ﬠ ִים not touch any consecrated thing, nor enter ְכּ ִנ ָדּ ָ ֑תהּ ְו ִשׁ ִ ֥שּׁים יוֹ ֙ם ְו ֵ֣שׁ ֶשׁת ָי ִ֔מים ֵתּ ֵ֖שׁב the sanctuary until her period of purification is completed. (5) If she bears a (ו) ַﬠל־ ְדּ ֵ֥מי ָט ֳה ָֽרה׃ וּ ִב ְמ ֣לֹאת ׀ ְי ֵ֣מי ָט ֳה ָ֗רהּ female, she shall be unclean two weeks as ְל ֵב֮ן ֣אוֹ ְל ַב ֒ת ָתּ ִ֞ביא ֶ ֤כּ ֶבשׂ ֶבּן ְ־שׁ ָנת ֙וֹ ְל ֹע ֔ ָלה during her menstruation, and she shall וּ ֶבן־יוֹ ָ ֥נה אוֹ־ ֖ ֹתר ְל ַח ָ ֑טּאת ֶאל־ ֶ ֥פּ ַתח remain in a state of blood purification for ֽ ֹא ֶהל־מ ֵ֖וֹﬠד ֶאל ַ־ה ֹכּ ֵֽהן׃ (ז) ְו ִה ְק ִרי ֞בוֹ ִל ְפ ֵ֤ני ה' sixty-six days. (6) On the completion of her period of purification, for either son or ְו ִכ ֶ ֣פּר ָﬠ ֔ ֶל ָיה ְו ָט ֲה ָ ֖רה ִמ ְמּ ֣ ֹקר ָדּ ֶ ֑מ ָיה ֤זֹאת תּ ַוֹר ֙ת daughter, she shall bring to the priest, at ַה ֹיּ ֔ ֶל ֶדת ַל ָזּ ָ ֖כר ֥אוֹ ַל ְנּ ֵק ָֽבה׃ (ח) ְו ִאם־ ֨לֹא the entrance of the Tent of Meeting, a ִת ְמ ָ ֣צא ָי ָד ֮הּ ֵ֣דּי ֶשׂ ֒ה ְו ָל ְק ָ ֣חה ְשׁ ֵֽתּי־ ֹת ִ֗רים ֤אוֹ ,lamb in its first year for a burnt offering ְשׁ ֵנ֙י ְבּ ֵ֣ני יוֹ ָ֔נה ֶא ָ ֥חד ְל ֹע ָ ֖לה ְו ֶא ָ ֣חד ְל ַח ָ ֑טּאת and a pigeon or a turtledove for a sin offering. (7) He shall offer it before the ְו ִכ ֶ ֥פּר ָﬠ ֶ ֛ל ָיה ַה ֹכּ ֵ֖הן ְו ָט ֵֽה ָרה׃ (פ) (א) ַו ְי ַד ֵ֣בּר ;LORD and make expiation on her behalf ה' ֶאל־ ֹמ ֶ ֥שׁה ְו ֶֽאל־ ַא ֲה֖ ֹרן ֵלא ֹֽמר׃ (ב) ָא ָ֗דם she shall then be clean from her flow of ִֽכּי־ ִי ְה ֶי֤ה ְבעוֹר־ ְבּ ָשׂר ֙וֹ ְשׂ ֵ֤את ֽאוֹ־ ַס ַ֙פּ ַח ֙ת ֣אוֹ blood. Such are the rituals concerning her ַב ֶ֔ה ֶרת ְו ָה ָי֥ה ְבעוֹר־ ְבּ ָשׂ֖רוֹ ְל ֶ ֣נ ַגע ָצ ָ ֑ר ַﬠת ,who bears a child, male or female. (8) If however, her means do not suffice for a ְוהוּ ָב ֙א ֶאל־ ַא ֲה֣ ֹרן ַה ֹכּ ֵ֔הן ֛אוֹ ֶאל־ ַא ַ ֥חד ִמ ָבּ ָ ֖ניו sheep, she shall take two turtledoves or ַה ֹכּ ֲהִֽנים׃ (ג) ְו ָר ָ ֣אה ַה ֹכּ ֵ֣הן ֶאת ַ־ה ֶ ֣נּ ַגע two pigeons, one for a burnt offering and ְבּ ֽﬠוֹר ֠ ַ־ה ָבּ ָשׂר ְו ֵשׂ ָ֨ﬠר ַבּ ֶ֜נּ ַגע ָה ַ ֣פ ׀ ָל ָ֗בן the other for a sin offering. The priest shall וּ ַמ ְר ֵ֤אה ַה ֶ֙נּ ַג ֙ע ָﬠ ֹמ ֙ק ֵמ ֣ﬠוֹר ְבּ ָשׂ ֔רוֹ ֶ ֥נ ַגע ָצ ַ ֖ר ַﬠת make expiation on her behalf, and she shall be clean. ֵאין־ ַמ ְר ֶ ֣א ָה ִמן ָ־ה ֔עוֹר ְוּשׂ ָﬠ ָ ֖רה לֹא ָ־ה ַ ֣פ ָל ָ ֑בן swelling, a rash, or a discoloration, and it ְו ִה ְסִ ֧גּיר ַה ֹכּ ֵ֛הן ֶאת ַ־ה ֶ ֖נּ ַגע ִשׁ ְב ַ ֥ﬠת ָי ִֽמים׃ (ה) develops into a scaly affection on the skin of his body, it shall be reported to Aaron ְו ָר ָ ֣אהוּ ַה ֹכּ ֵה֮ן ַבּ ֣יּוֹם ַה ְשּׁ ִב ִיﬠ ֒י ְו ִה ֵ֤נּה ַה ֶ֙נּ ַג ֙ע ָﬠ ַ ֣מד .the priest or to one of his sons, the priests ְבּ ֵﬠי ָ֔ניו ֽלֹא־ ָפ ָ ֥שׂה ַה ֶ ֖נּ ַגע ָבּ ֑ﬠוֹר ְו ִה ְס ִגּ ֧ירוֹ ַה ֹכּ ֵ֛הן The priest shall examine the affection (3) ִשׁ ְב ַ ֥ﬠת ָי ִ ֖מים ֵשִֽׁנית׃ (ו) ְו ָר ָא ֩ה ַה ֹכּ ֵ֨הן ֹא ֜תוֹ on the skin of his body: if hair in the ַבּ ֣יּוֹם ַה ְשּׁ ִב ִיﬠ֮י ֵשׁ ִני ֒ת ְו ִה ֵנּ ֙ה ֵכּ ָ ֣הה ַה ֶ֔נּ ַגע affected patch has turned white and the affection appears to be deeper than the ְולֹא־ ָפ ָ ֥שׂה ַה ֶ ֖נּ ַגע ָבּ ֑ﬠוֹר ְו ִט ֲה֤רוֹ ַה ֹכּ ֵה֙ן ִמ ְס ַ ֣פּ ַחת ;skin of his body, it is a leprous affection ִ֔היא ְו ִכ ֶ ֥בּס ְבּ ָג ָ ֖דיו ְו ָט ֵֽהר׃ (ז) ְו ִאם־ ָפּ ֨ ֹשׂה when the priest sees it, he shall pronounce ִת ְפ ֶ ֤שׂה ַה ִמּ ְס ַ֙פּ ַח ֙ת ָבּ ֔עוֹר ַא ֲח ֵ֧רי ֵה ָר ֹא ֛תוֹ him unclean. (4) But if it is a white ֶאל ַ־ה ֹכּ ֵ֖הן ְל ָט ֳה ָר ֑תוֹ ְו ִנ ְר ָ ֥אה ֵשִׁ ֖נית ֶאל ַ־ה ֹכּ ֵֽהן׃ discoloration on the skin of his body which does not appear to be deeper than (ח) ְו ָר ָא ֙ה ַה ֹכּ ֵ֔הן ְו ִה ֵ֛נּה ָפּ ְשׂ ָ ֥תה ַה ִמּ ְס ַ ֖פּ ַחת the skin and the hair in it has not turned ָבּ ֑ﬠוֹר ְו ִט ְמּ ֥אוֹ ַה ֹכּ ֵ֖הן ָצ ַ ֥ר ַﬠת ִֽהוא׃ (פ) (ט) white, the priest shall isolate the affected ֶ ֣נ ַגע ָצ ַ֔ר ַﬠת ִ ֥כּי ִת ְה ֶי֖ה ְבּ ָא ָ ֑דם ְוהוּ ָ ֖בא person for seven days. (5) On the seventh day the priest shall examine him, and if the ֶאל ַ־ה ֹכּ ֵֽהן׃ (י) ְו ָר ָ ֣אה ַה ֹכּ ֵ֗הן ְו ִה ֵ֤נּה affection has remained unchanged in color ְשׂ ֵאת־ ְל ָב ָנ ֙ה ָבּ ֔עוֹר ְו ִ֕היא ָה ְפ ָ ֖כה ֵשׂ ָ ֣ﬠר ָל ָ ֑בן ,and the disease has not spread on the skin וּ ִֽמ ְח ַי֛ת ָבּ ָ ֥שׂר ַ ֖חי ַבּ ְשׂ ֵֽאת׃ (יא) ָצ ַ֨ר ַﬠת נ ֶ ֤וֹשׁ ֶנת the priest shall isolate him for another ִהו ֙א ְבּ ֣ﬠוֹר ְבּ ָשׂ ֔רוֹ ְו ִט ְמּ ֖אוֹ ַה ֹכּ ֵ֑הן ֣לֹא ַי ְס ִגּ ֶ֔רנּוּ seven days. (6) On the seventh day the priest shall examine him again: if the ִ ֥כּי ָט ֵ֖מא ֽהוּא׃ (יב) ְו ִאם־ ָפּ ֨רוֹ ַח ִתּ ְפ ַ ֤רח affection has faded and has not spread on ַה ָצּ ַ֙ר ַﬠ ֙ת ָבּ ֔עוֹר ְו ִכ ְסּ ָ ֣תה ַה ָצּ ַ֗ר ַﬠת ֚ ֵאת ָכּל ֣־ﬠוֹר the skin, the priest shall pronounce him ַה ֶ֔נּ ַגע ֵמרֹ ֖אשׁוֹ ְו ַﬠד ַ־ר ְג ָ ֑ליו ְל ָכל־ ַמ ְר ֵ֖אה ֵﬠי ֵ֥ני clean. It is a rash; he shall wash his ַה ֹכּ ֵֽהן׃ (יג) ְו ָר ָ ֣אה ַה ֹכּ ֵ֗הן ְו ִה ֵ֨נּה ִכ ְסּ ָ ֤תה ַה ָצּ ַ֙ר ַﬠ ֙ת clothes, and he shall be clean. (7) But if the rash should spread on the skin after he has ֶאת־ ָכּל־ ְבּ ָשׂ ֔רוֹ ְו ִט ַ ֖הר ֶאת ַ־ה ָ ֑נּ ַגע ֻכּ ֛לּוֹ ָה ַ ֥פ presented himself to the priest and been ָל ָ ֖בן ָט ֥הוֹר ֽהוּא׃ (יד) וּ ְב֨יוֹם ֵה ָר ֥אוֹת ֛בּוֹ ָבּ ָ ֥שׂר pronounced clean, he shall present himself ַ ֖חי ִי ְט ָֽמא׃ (טו) ְו ָר ָ ֧אה ַה ֹכּ ֵ֛הן ֶאת ַ־ה ָבּ ָ ֥שׂר ַה ַ ֖חי again to the priest. (8) And if the priest ְו ִט ְמּ ֑אוֹ ַה ָבּ ָ ֥שׂר ַה ַ ֛חי ָט ֵ֥מא ֖הוּא ָצ ַ ֥ר ַﬠת ֽהוּא׃ ,sees that the rash has spread on the skin the priest shall pronounce him unclean; it (טז) ֣אוֹ ִ ֥כי ָי ֛שׁוּב ַה ָבּ ָ ֥שׂר ַה ַ ֖חי ְו ֶנ ְה ַ ֣פּ ְל ָל ָ ֑בן is leprosy. (9) When a person has a scaly וּ ָ ֖בא ֶאל ַ־ה ֹכּ ֵֽהן׃ (יז) ְו ָר ָ֙אה ֙וּ ַה ֹכּ ֵ֔הן ְו ִה ֵ֛נּה .affection, it shall be reported to the priest ֶנ ְה ַ ֥פּ ַה ֶ ֖נּ ַגע ְל ָל ָ ֑בן ְו ִט ַ ֧הר ַה ֹכּ ֵ֛הן ֶאת ַ־ה ֶ ֖נּ ַגע If the priest finds on the skin a white (10) ָט ֥הוֹר ֽהוּא׃ (פ) (יח) וּ ָב ֕ ָשׂר ִֽכּי־ ִי ְה ֶי֥ה swelling which has turned some hair white, with a patch of undiscolored flesh ֽבוֹ־ ְב ֹע֖רוֹ ְשׁ ִ ֑חין ְו ִנ ְר ָֽפּא׃ (יט) ְו ָהָ֞יה ִבּ ְמ ֤קוֹם in the swelling, (11) it is chronic leprosy on ַה ְשּׁ ִחי֙ן ְשׂ ֵ֣את ְל ָב ָ֔נה ֥אוֹ ַב ֶ ֖ה ֶרת ְל ָב ָ ֣נה the skin of his body, and the priest shall ֲא ַד ְמ ָ ֑דּ ֶמת ְו ִנ ְר ָ ֖אה ֶאל ַ־ה ֹכּ ֵֽהן׃ (כ) ְו ָר ָ ֣אה ַה ֹכּ ֵ֗הן pronounce him unclean; he need not ְו ִה ֵ֤נּה ַמ ְר ֶ֙א ָ֙ה ָשׁ ָ ֣פל ִמן ָ־ה ֔עוֹר ְוּשׂ ָﬠ ָ ֖רהּ ָה ַ ֣פ isolate him, for he is unclean. (12) If the eruption spreads out over the skin so that it ָל ָ ֑בן ְו ִט ְמּ ֧אוֹ ַה ֹכּ ֵ֛הן ֶֽנ ַגע־ ָצ ַ ֥ר ַﬠת ִ ֖הוא ַבּ ְשּׁ ִ ֥חין covers all the skin of the affected person ָפּ ָֽר ָחה׃ (כא) ְו ִ ֣אם ׀ ִי ְר ֶ ֣א ָנּה ַה ֹכּ ֵ֗הן ְו ִה ֵ֤נּה from head to foot, wherever the priest can ֵֽאין־ ָבּ ֙הּ ֵשׂ ָ ֣ﬠר ָל ָ֔בן ְוּשׁ ָפ ָ ֥לה ֵאי ֶ ֛נ ָנּה ִמן ָ־ה ֖ﬠוֹר see— (13) if the priest sees that the ְו ִ ֣היא ֵכ ָ ֑הה ְו ִה ְס ִגּ ֥ירוֹ ַה ֹכּ ֵ֖הן ִשׁ ְב ַ ֥ﬠת ָי ִֽמים׃ eruption has covered the whole body—he shall pronounce the affected person clean; (כב) ְו ִאם־ ָפּ ֥ ֹשׂה ִת ְפ ֶ ֖שׂה ָבּ ֑ﬠוֹר ְו ִט ֵ֧מּא ַה ֹכּ ֵ֛הן (he is clean, for he has turned all white. ֹא ֖תוֹ ֶ ֥נ ַגע ִֽהוא׃ (כג) ְו ִאם־ ַתּ ְח ֶ֜תּ ָיה ַתּ ֲﬠ ֹ֤מד But as soon as undiscolored flesh appears ַה ַבּ ֶ֙ה ֶר ֙ת ֣לֹא ָפ ֔ ָשׂ ָתה ָצ ֶ ֥ר ֶבת ַה ְשּׁ ִ ֖חין ִ ֑הוא in it, he shall be unclean; (15) when the priest sees the undiscolored flesh, he shall (כד) ְו ִט ֲה֖רוֹ ַה ֹכּ ֵֽהן׃ (ס) ֣אוֹ ָב ֔ ָשׂר ִֽכּי־ ִי ְה ֶי֥ה pronounce him unclean. The undiscolored ְב ֹע֖רוֹ ִמ ְכ ַות־ ֵ֑אשׁ ְֽו ָה ְי ָ֞תה ִֽמ ְח ַי֣ת ַה ִמּ ְכ ָ֗וה flesh is unclean; it is leprosy. (16) But if ַבּ ֶ ֛ה ֶרת ְל ָב ָ ֥נה ֲא ַד ְמ ֶ ֖דּ ֶמת ֥אוֹ ְל ָב ָֽנה׃ (כה) ְו ָר ָ ֣אה ,the undiscolored flesh again turns white ֹא ָ ֣תהּ ַה ֹכּ ֵ֡הן ְו ִה ֵ֣נּה ֶנ ְה ַפּ ֩ ֵשׂ ָ֨ﬠר ָל ָ֜בן ַבּ ַבּ ֶ֗ה ֶרת he shall come to the priest, (17) and the priest shall examine him: if the affection וּ ַמ ְר ֶ֙א ָ֙ה ָﬠ ֹ֣מק ִמן ָ־ה ֔עוֹר ָצ ַ ֣ר ַﬠת ִ֔הוא ַבּ ִמּ ְכָ ֖וה has turned white, the priest shall ָפּ ָ ֑ר ָחה ְו ִט ֵ֤מּא ֹאת ֙וֹ ַה ֹכּ ֵ֔הן ֶ ֥נ ַגע ָצ ַ ֖ר ַﬠת ִֽהוא׃ pronounce the affected person clean; he is (כו) ְו ִ ֣אם ׀ ִי ְר ֶ ֣א ָנּה ַה ֹכּ ֵ֗הן ְו ִה ֵ֤נּה ֵֽאין־ ַבּ ֶבּ ֶ֙ה ֶר ֙ת clean. (18) When an inflammation appears ֵשׂ ָ ֣ﬠר ָל ָ֔בן ְוּשׁ ָפ ָ ֥לה ֵאי ֶ ֛נ ָנּה ִמן ָ־ה ֖ﬠוֹר ְו ִ ֣הוא (on the skin of one’s body and it heals, (19 and a white swelling or a white ֵכ ָ ֑הה ְו ִה ְס ִגּ ֥ירוֹ ַה ֹכּ ֵ֖הן ִשׁ ְב ַ ֥ﬠת ָי ִֽמים׃ (כז) discoloration streaked with red develops ְו ָר ָ ֥אהוּ ַה ֹכּ ֵ֖הן ַבּ ֣יּוֹם ַה ְשּׁ ִב ִ ֑יﬠי ִאם־ ָפּ ֤ ֹשׂה where the inflammation was, he shall ִת ְפ ֶשׂ ֙ה ָבּ ֔עוֹר ְו ִט ֵ֤מּא ַה ֹכּ ֵה֙ן ֹא ֔תוֹ ֶ ֥נ ַגע ָצ ַ ֖ר ַﬠת present himself to the priest. (20) If the priest finds that it appears lower than the ִֽהוא׃ (כח) ְו ִאם־ ַתּ ְח ֶתּ ָ֩יה ַת ֲﬠ ֹ֨מד ַה ַבּ ֶ֜ה ֶרת rest of the skin and that the hair in it has לֹא־ ָפ ְשׂ ָ ֤תה ָבע ֙וֹר ְו ִ ֣הוא ֵכ ָ֔הה ְשׂ ֵ֥את ַה ִמּ ְכָ ֖וה turned white, the priest shall pronounce ִ ֑הוא ְו ִֽט ֲהר ֙וֹ ַה ֹכּ ֵ֔הן ִֽכּי־ ָצ ֶ ֥ר ֶבת ַה ִמּ ְכָ ֖וה ִֽהוא׃ him unclean; it is a leprous affection that (פ) (כט) ְו ִא ֙ישׁ ֣אוֹ ִא ֔ ָשּׁה ִֽכּי־ ִי ְה ֶי֥ה ֖בוֹ ָ ֑נ ַגע (has broken out in the inflammation. (21 But if the priest finds that there is no white ְבּ֖רֹאשׁ ֥אוֹ ְב ָז ָֽקן׃ (ל) ְו ָר ָ֨אה ַה ֹכּ ֵ֜הן ֶאת ַ־ה ֶ֗נּ ַגע hair in it and it is not lower than the rest of ְו ִה ֵ֤נּה ַמ ְר ֵ֙אה ֙וּ ָﬠ ֹ֣מק ִמן ָ־ה ֔עוֹר וּ ֛בוֹ ֵשׂ ָ ֥ﬠר ָצ ֹ֖הב the skin, and it is faded, the priest shall ָ ֑דּק ְו ִט ֵ֨מּא ֹא ֤תוֹ ַה ֹכּ ֵה֙ן ֶ ֣נ ֶתק ֔הוּא ָצ ַ ֧ר ַﬠת isolate him for seven days. (22) If it should ָה֛רֹאשׁ ֥אוֹ ַה ָזּ ָ ֖קן ֽהוּא׃ (לא) ְו ִֽכי־ ִי ְר ֶ֨אה ַה ֹכּ ֵ֜הן spread in the skin, the priest shall pronounce him unclean; it is an affection. ֶאת־ ֶ ֣נ ַגע ַה ֶ֗נּ ֶתק ְו ִה ֵ֤נּה ֵאין־ ַמ ְר ֵ֙אה ֙וּ ָﬠ ֹ֣מק (23) But if the discoloration remains ִמן ָ־ה ֔עוֹר ְו ֵשׂ ָ ֥ﬠר ָשׁ ֹ֖חר ֵ֣אין ֑בּוֹ ְו ִה ְסִ ֧גּיר ַה ֹכּ ֵ֛הן stationary, not having spread, it is the scar ֶאת־ ֶ ֥נ ַגע ַה ֶ ֖נּ ֶתק ִשׁ ְב ַ ֥ﬠת ָי ִֽמים׃ (לב) ְו ָר ָ֨אה of the inflammation; the priest shall ַה ֹכּ ֵ֣הן ֶאת ַ־ה ֶנּ ַג ֮ע ַבּ ֣יּוֹם ַה ְשּׁ ִב ִיﬠ ֒י ְו ִה ֵנּ ֙ה pronounce him clean. (24) When the skin of one’s body sustains a burn by fire, and לֹא־ ָפ ָ ֣שׂה ַה ֶ֔נּ ֶתק ְולֹא ָ ֥־ה ָיה ֖בוֹ ֵשׂ ָ ֣ﬠר ָצ ֹ֑הב ,the patch from the burn is a discoloration וּ ַמ ְר ֵ֣אה ַה ֶ֔נּ ֶתק ֵ֥אין ָﬠ ֹ֖מק ִמן ָ־ה ֽﬠוֹר׃ (לג) ,either white streaked with red, or white ְו ִ֨ה ְת ַגּ ֔ ָלּח ְו ֶאת ַ־ה ֶ ֖נּ ֶתק ֣לֹא ְי ַג ֵ֑לּ ַח ְו ִה ְס ִ֨גּיר ַה ֹכּ ֵ֧הן the priest shall examine it. If some hair (25) ֶאת ַ־ה ֶ ֛נּ ֶתק ִשׁ ְב ַ ֥ﬠת ָי ִ ֖מים ֵשִֽׁנית׃ (לד) ְו ָר ָא ֩ה ,has turned white in the discoloration which itself appears to go deeper than the ַה ֹכּ ֵ֨הן ֶאת ַ־ה ֶ֜נּ ֶתק ַבּ ֣יּוֹם ַה ְשּׁ ִב ִ֗יﬠי ְ֠ו ִה ֵנּה skin, it is leprosy that has broken out in the לֹא־ ָפ ָ ֤שׂה ַה ֶ֙נּ ֶת ֙ק ָבּ ֔עוֹר וּ ַמ ְר ֵ֕אהוּ ֵאי ֶ ֥ננּוּ ָﬠ ֹ֖מק burn. The priest shall pronounce him ִמן ָ־ה ֑ﬠוֹר ְו ִט ַ ֤הר ֹאת ֙וֹ ַה ֹכּ ֵ֔הן ְו ִכ ֶ ֥בּס ְבּ ָג ָ ֖דיו unclean; it is a leprous affection. (26) But if the priest finds that there is no white hair ְו ָט ֵֽהר׃ (לה) ְו ִאם־ ָפּ ֥ ֹשׂה ִי ְפ ֶ ֛שׂה ַה ֶ ֖נּ ֶתק ָבּ ֑ﬠוֹר in the discoloration, and that it is not lower ַא ֲח ֵ֖רי ָט ֳה ָר ֽתוֹ׃ (לו) ְו ָר ָ֙אה ֙וּ ַה ֹכּ ֵ֔הן ְו ִה ֵ֛נּה ָפּ ָ ֥שׂה than the rest of the skin, and it is faded, the ַה ֶ ֖נּ ֶתק ָבּ ֑ﬠוֹר ֽלֹא־ ְי ַב ֵ֧קּר ַה ֹכּ ֵ֛הן ַל ֵשּׂ ָ ֥ﬠר ַה ָצּ ֹ֖הב (priest shall isolate him for seven days. (27 ָט ֵ֥מא ֽהוּא׃ (לז) ְו ִאם־ ְבּ ֵﬠי ָני ֩ו ָﬠ ַ֨מד ַה ֶ֜נּ ֶתק On the seventh day the priest shall ְו ֵשׂ ָ֨ﬠר ָשׁ ֹ֧חר ָֽצ ַמח־ ֛בּוֹ ִנ ְר ָ ֥פּא ַה ֶ ֖נּ ֶתק ָט ֣הוֹר ,examine him: if it has spread in the skin the priest shall pronounce him unclean; it ֑הוּא ְו ִט ֲה֖רוֹ ַה ֹכּ ֵֽהן׃ (ס) (לח) ְו ִא ֙ישׁ ֽאוֹ־ ִא ֔ ָשּׁה is a leprous affection. ִֽכּי־ ִי ְה ֶי֥ה ְבעוֹר־ ְבּ ָשׂ ָ ֖רם ֶבּ ָה֑ ֹרת ֶבּ ָה֖ ֹרת ְל ָב ֹֽנת׃ discoloration has remained stationary, not (לט) ְו ָר ָ ֣אה ַה ֹכּ ֵ֗הן ְו ִה ֵ֧נּה ְבעוֹר־ ְבּ ָשׂ ָ ֛רם ֶבּ ָה֖ ֹרת ,having spread on the skin, and it is faded it is the swelling from the burn. (29) If a man or a woman has ֖הוּא ָט ֥הוֹר ֽהוּא׃ (מא) ְו ִא ֙ם ִמ ְפּ ַ ֣את ָפּ ָ֔ניו ,an affection on the head or in the beard ִי ָמּ ֵ֖רט רֹ ֑אשׁוֹ ִגּ ֵ֥בּ ַח ֖הוּא ָט ֥הוֹר ֽהוּא׃ (מב) .the priest shall examine the affection (30) If it appears to go deeper than the skin and ְו ִֽכי־ ִי ְה ֶי֤ה ַב ָקּ ַ֙ר ַח ֙ת ֣אוֹ ַב ַגּ ַ֔בּ ַחת ֶ ֖נ ַגע ָל ָ ֣בן there is thin yellow hair in it, the priest ֲא ַד ְמ ָ ֑דּם ָצ ַ ֤ר ַﬠת ֹפּ ַ֙ר ַח ֙ת ִ֔הוא ְבּ ָק ַר ְח ֖תּוֹ ֥אוֹ shall pronounce him unclean; it is a scall, a ְב ַג ַבּ ְח ֽתּוֹ׃ (מג) ְו ָר ָ֨אה ֹא ֜תוֹ ַה ֹכּ ֵ֗הן ְו ִה ֵ֤נּה scaly eruption in the hair or beard. (31) But ְשׂ ֵאת ַ־ה ֶ֙נּ ַג ֙ע ְל ָב ָ ֣נה ֲא ַד ְמ ֶ֔דּ ֶמת ְבּ ָק ַר ְח ֖תּוֹ ֣אוֹ if the priest finds that the scall affection does not appear to go deeper than the skin, ְב ַג ַבּ ְח ֑תּוֹ ְכּ ַמ ְר ֵ֥אה ָצ ַ ֖ר ַﬠת ֥ﬠוֹר ָבּ ָֽשׂר׃ (מד) yet there is no black hair in it, the priest ִאישׁ־ ָצ֥ר ַוּﬠ ֖הוּא ָט ֵ֣מא ֑הוּא ַט ֵ֧מּא ְי ַט ְמּ ֶ ֛אנּוּ shall isolate the person with the scall ַה ֹכּ ֵ֖הן ְבּרֹ ֥אשׁוֹ ִנ ְג ֽﬠוֹ׃ (מה) ְו ַה ָצּ ֜ר ַוּﬠ ֲא ֶשׁר־ ֣בּוֹ affection for seven days. (32) On the ַה ֶ֗נּ ַגע ְבּ ָג ָ֞דיו ִי ְה ֤יוּ ְפ ֻר ִמי ֙ם ְורֹאשׁ ֙וֹ ִי ְה ֶי֣ה ָפ ֔ר ַוּﬠ seventh day the priest shall examine the affection. If the scall has not spread and no ְו ַﬠל ָ־שׂ ָ ֖פם ַי ְﬠ ֶ ֑טה ְו ָט ֵ֥מא ׀ ָט ֵ֖מא ִי ְק ָֽרא׃ (מו) yellow hair has appeared in it, and the ָכּל־ ְי ֵ֞מי ֲא ֨ ֶשׁר ַה ֶ ֥נּ ַגע ֛בּוֹ ִי ְט ָ ֖מא ָט ֵ֣מא ֑הוּא ָבּ ָ ֣דד scall does not appear to go deeper than the ֵי ֔ ֵשׁב ִמ ֥חוּץ ַֽל ַמּ ֲח ֶ ֖נה מ ָוֹשׁ ֽבוֹ׃ (ס) (מז) ְו ַה ֶ֕בּ ֶגד skin, (33) the person with the scall shall ִֽכּי־ ִי ְה ֶי֥ה ֖בוֹ ֶ ֣נ ַגע ָצ ָ ֑ר ַﬠת ְבּ ֶ ֣ב ֶגד ֶ֔צ ֶמר ֖אוֹ ְבּ ֶ ֥ב ֶגד shave himself, but without shaving the scall; the priest shall isolate him for ִפּ ְשׁ ִֽתּים׃ (מח) ֤אוֹ ִֽב ְשׁ ִת֙י ֣אוֹ ְב ֵ֔ﬠ ֶרב ַל ִפּ ְשׁ ִ ֖תּים another seven days. (34) On the seventh ְו ַל ָ ֑צּ ֶמר ֣אוֹ ְב ֔עוֹר ֖אוֹ ְבּ ָכל־ ְמ ֶ ֥לא ֶכת ֽﬠוֹר׃ (מט) day the priest shall examine the scall. If ְו ָהָ֨יה ַה ֶ֜נּ ַגע ְי ַר ְק ַ ֣רק ׀ ֣אוֹ ֲא ַד ְמ ָ֗דּם ַבּ ֶבּ ֶג ֩ד ֨אוֹ the scall has not spread on the skin, and does not appear to go deeper than the skin, ָב ֜עוֹר ֽאוֹ־ ַב ְשּׁ ִ ֤תי אוֹ־ ָב ֵ֙ﬠ ֶר ֙ב ֣אוֹ the priest shall pronounce him clean; he ְב ָכל־ ְכּ ִלי ֔־עוֹר ֶ ֥נ ַגע ָצ ַ ֖ר ַﬠת ֑הוּא ְו ָה ְר ָ ֖אה shall wash his clothes, and he shall be ֶאת ַ־ה ֹכּ ֵֽהן׃ (נ) ְו ָר ָ ֥אה ַה ֹכּ ֵ֖הן ֶאת ַ־ה ָ ֑נּ ַגע clean. (35) If, however, the scall should ְו ִה ְסִ ֥גּיר ֶאת ַ־ה ֶ ֖נּ ַגע ִשׁ ְב ַ ֥ﬠת ָי ִֽמים׃ (נא) ְו ָר ָ֨אה spread on the skin after he has been pronounced clean, (36) the priest shall ֶאת ַ־ה ֶ֜נּ ַגע ַבּ ֣יּוֹם ַה ְשּׁ ִב ִ֗יﬠי ִֽכּי־ ָפ ָ ֤שׂה ַה ֶ֙נּ ַג ֙ע examine him. If the scall has spread on the ֠ ַבּ ֶבּ ֶגד ֽאוֹ־ ַב ְשּׁ ִ ֤תי ֽאוֹ־ ָב ֵ֙ﬠ ֶר ֙ב ֣אוֹ ָב ֔עוֹר ְל ֹ֛כל skin, the priest need not look for yellow ֲא ֶשׁר־ ֵי ָﬠ ֶ ֥שׂה ָה ֖ﬠוֹר ִל ְמ ָלא ָ ֑כה ָצ ַ ֧ר ַﬠת ַמ ְמ ֶ ֛א ֶרת hair: he is unclean. (37) But if the scall has ַה ֶ ֖נּ ַגע ָט ֵ֥מא ֽהוּא׃ (נב) ְו ָשׂ ַ֨רף ֶאת ַ־ה ֶ֜בּ ֶגד ֥אוֹ remained unchanged in color, and black hair has grown in it, the scall is healed; he ֶֽאת ַ־ה ְשּׁ ִ ֣תי ׀ ֣אוֹ ֶאת ָ־ה ֵ֗ﬠ ֶרב ַבּ ֶ֙צּ ֶמ ֙ר ֣אוֹ is clean. The priest shall pronounce him ַב ִפּ ְשׁ ִ֔תּים ֚אוֹ ֶאת־ ָכּל־ ְכּ ִ ֣לי ָה ֔עוֹר ֲא ֶשׁר־ ִי ְה ֶי֥ה clean. (38) If a man or a woman has the ֖בוֹ ַה ָ ֑נּ ַגע ִֽכּי־ ָצ ַ ֤ר ַﬠת ַמ ְמ ֶ֙א ֶר ֙ת ִ֔הוא ָבּ ֵ֖אשׁ skin of the body streaked with white discolorations, (39) and the priest sees that ִתּ ָשּׂ ֵֽרף׃ (נג) ְו ִא ֮ם ִי ְר ֶ ֣אה ַה ֹכּ ֵה ֒ן ְו ִה ֵנּ ֙ה the discolorations on the skin of the body לֹא־ ָפ ָ ֣שׂה ַה ֶ֔נּ ַגע ַבּ ֶ֕בּ ֶגד ֥אוֹ ַב ְשּׁ ִ ֖תי ֣אוֹ ָב ֵ֑ﬠ ֶרב are of a dull white, it is a tetter broken out ֖אוֹ ְבּ ָכל־ ְכּ ִלי ֽ־ﬠוֹר׃ (נד) ְו ִצ ָוּ ֙ה ַה ֹכּ ֵ֔הן ְו ִ֨כ ְבּ ֔סוּ on the skin; he is clean. (40) If a man loses ֵ֥את ֲא ֶשׁר־ ֖בּוֹ ַה ָ ֑נּ ַגע ְו ִה ְס ִגּ ֥ירוֹ ִשׁ ְב ַﬠת־ ָי ִ ֖מים the hair of his head and becomes bald, he is clean. (41) If he loses the hair on the ֵשִֽׁנית׃ (נה) ְו ָר ָ֨אה ַה ֹכּ ֵ֜הן ַא ֲח ֵ֣רי ׀ ֻה ַכּ ֵ֣בּס front part of his head and becomes bald at ֶאת ַ־ה ֶ֗נּ ַגע ְ֠ו ִה ֵנּה ֽלֹא ָ־ה ַ֨פ ַה ֶ ֤נּ ַגע ֶאת ֵ־ﬠינ ֙וֹ the forehead, he is clean. ְו ַה ֶ ֣נּ ַגע ֽלֹא־ ָפ ֔ ָשׂה ָט ֵ֣מא ֔הוּא ָבּ ֵ֖אשׁ ִתּ ְשׂ ְר ֶ ֑פנּוּ white affection streaked with red appears ְפּ ֶ ֣ח ֶתת ִ֔הוא ְבּ ָק ַר ְח ֖תּוֹ ֥אוֹ ְב ַג ַבּ ְח ֽתּוֹ׃ (נו) ְו ִא ֮ם on the bald part in the front or at the back of the head, it is a scaly eruption that is ָר ָ ֣אה ַה ֹכּ ֵה ֒ן ְו ִה ֵנּ ֙ה ֵכּ ָ ֣הה ַה ֶ֔נּ ַגע ַא ֲח ֵ֖רי ֻה ַכּ ֵ֣בּס spreading over the bald part in the front or ֹא ֑תוֹ ְו ָק ַ ֣רע ֹא ֗תוֹ ִמן ַ־ה ֶ֙בּ ֶג ֙ד ֣אוֹ ִמן ָ־ה ֔עוֹר ֥אוֹ at the back of the head. (43) The priest ִמן ַ־ה ְשּׁ ִ ֖תי ֥אוֹ ִמן ָ־ה ֵֽﬠ ֶרב׃ (נז) ְו ִאם־ ֵתּ ָר ֶ֨אה shall examine him: if the swollen affection ֜עוֹד ֠ ַבּ ֶבּ ֶגד ֽאוֹ־ ַב ְשּׁ ִ ֤תי ֽאוֹ־ ָב ֵ֙ﬠ ֶר ֙ב ֣אוֹ on the bald part in the front or at the back of his head is white streaked with red, like ְב ָכל־ ְכּ ִלי ֔־עוֹר ֹפּ ַ ֖ר ַחת ִ ֑הוא ָבּ ֵ֣אשׁ ִתּ ְשׂ ְר ֶ֔פנּוּ ,the leprosy of body skin in appearance ֵ֥את ֲא ֶשׁר־ ֖בּוֹ ַה ָֽנּ ַגע׃ (נח) ְו ַה ֶ֡בּ ֶגד ֽאוֹ ַ־ה ְשּׁ ִ֨תי the man is leprous; he is unclean. The (44) אוֹ ָ־ה ֵ֜ﬠ ֶרב ֽאוֹ־ ָכל־ ְכּ ִ ֤לי ָהע ֙וֹר ֲא ֶ ֣שׁר ְתּ ַכ ֵ֔בּס priest shall pronounce him unclean; he has ְו ָ ֥סר ֵמ ֶ ֖הם ַה ָ ֑נּ ַגע ְו ֻכ ַ ֥בּס ֵשִׁ ֖נית ְו ָט ֵֽהר׃ (נט) the affection on his head. (45) As for the person with a leprous affection, his clothes ֠זֹאת תּ ַ֨וֹרת ֶֽנ ַגע־ ָצ ַ֜ר ַﬠת ֶ ֥בּ ֶגד ַה ֶ ֣צּ ֶמר ׀ ֣אוֹ ,shall be rent, his head shall be left bare ַה ִפּ ְשׁ ִ֗תּים ֤אוֹ ַה ְשּׁ ִת֙י ֣אוֹ ָה ֵ֔ﬠ ֶרב ֖אוֹ and he shall cover over his upper lip; and ָכּל־ ְכּ ִלי ֑־ﬠוֹר ְל ַט ֲה֖רוֹ ֥אוֹ ְל ַט ְמּ ֽאוֹ׃ (פ) (א) (he shall call out, “Unclean! Unclean!” (46 He shall be unclean as long as the disease ַו ְי ַד ֵ֥בּר ה' ֶאל־ ֹמ ֶ ֥שׁה ֵלּא ֹֽמר׃ (ב) ֤זֹאת ִֽתּ ְה ֶי ֙ה is on him. Being unclean, he shall dwell תּ ַ ֣וֹרת ַה ְמּ ֹצ ָ֔רע ְבּ ֖יוֹם ָט ֳה ָר ֑תוֹ ְוהוּ ָ ֖בא apart; his dwelling shall be outside the ֶאל ַ־ה ֹכּ ֵֽהן׃ (ג) ְו ָי ָצ ֙א ַה ֹכּ ֵ֔הן ֶאל־ ִמ ֖חוּץ ַֽל ַמּ ֲח ֶ ֑נה camp. (47) When an eruptive affection ְו ָר ָא ֙ה ַה ֹכּ ֵ֔הן ְו ִה ֵ֛נּה ִנ ְר ָ ֥פּא ֶֽנ ַגע ַ־ה ָצּ ַ ֖ר ַﬠת ,occurs in a cloth of wool or linen fabric (48) in the warp or in the woof of the linen ִמן ַ־ה ָצּֽר ַוּﬠ׃ (ד) ְו ִצ ָוּ ֙ה ַה ֹכּ ֵ֔הן ְו ָל ַ ֧קח ַל ִמּ ַטּ ֵ֛הר or the wool, or in a skin or in anything ְשׁ ֵֽתּי־ ִצ ֳפִּ ֥רים ַח ֖יּוֹת ְט ֹה֑רוֹת ְו ֵ֣ﬠץ ֶ֔א ֶרז ְוּשִׁ ֥ני made of skin; (49) if the affection in the תוֹ ַ ֖ל ַﬠת ְו ֵא ֹֽזב׃ (ה) ְו ִצ ָוּ ֙ה ַה ֹכּ ֵ֔הן ְו ָשׁ ַ ֖חט ,cloth or the skin, in the warp or the woof ֶאת ַ־ה ִצּ ֣פּוֹר ָה ֶא ָ ֑חת ֶאל־ ְכּ ִלי־ ֶ ֖ח ֶרשׂ ַﬠל־ ַ ֥מ ִים or in any article of skin, is streaky green or red, it is an eruptive affection. It shall be ַחִֽיּים׃ (ו) ֶאת ַ־ה ִצּ ֹ֤פּר ַֽה ַח ָיּ ֙ה ִי ַ ֣קּח ֹא ָ֔תהּ shown to the priest; (50) and the priest, ְו ֶאת ֵ֥־ﬠץ ָה ֶ ֛א ֶרז ְו ֶאת ְ־שִׁ ֥ני ַהתּוֹ ַ ֖ל ַﬠת after examining the affection, shall isolate ְו ֶאת ָ־ה ֵא ֹ֑זב ְו ָט ַ֨בל אוֹ ָ֜תם ְו ֵ֣את ׀ ַה ִצּ ֹ֣פּר ַֽה ַחָ֗יּה the affected article for seven days. (51) On ְבּ ַד ֙ם ַה ִצּ ֹ֣פּר ַה ְשּׁ ֻח ָ֔טה ַ ֖ﬠל ַה ַ ֥מּ ִים ַֽה ַחִֽיּים׃ (ז) the seventh day he shall examine the affection: if the affection has spread in the ְו ִה ָ֗זּה ַ ֧ﬠל ַה ִמּ ַטּ ֵ֛הר ִמן ַ־ה ָצּ ַ ֖ר ַﬠת ֶ ֣שׁ ַבע ְפּ ָﬠ ִ ֑מים cloth—whether in the warp or the woof, or ְו ִ ֣ט ֲה ֔רוֹ ְו ִשׁ ַ ֛לּח ֶאת ַ־ה ִצּ ֹ֥פּר ַֽה ַח ָיּ֖ה ַﬠל־ ְפּ ֵ֥ני in the skin, for whatever purpose the skin ַה ָשּׂ ֶֽדה׃ (ח) ְו ִכ ֶבּ ֩ס ַה ִמּ ַטּ ֵ֨הר ֶאת־ ְבּ ָג ָ֜דיו ְו ִג ַ ֣לּח may be used—the affection is a malignant ֶאת־ ָכּל ְ־שׂ ָﬠ ֗רוֹ ְו ָר ַ ֤חץ ַבּ ַ֙מּ ִי ֙ם ְו ָט ֵ֔הר ְו ַא ַ ֖חר —eruption; it is unclean. (52) The cloth whether warp or woof in wool or linen, or ָי ֣בוֹא ֶאל ַֽ־ה ַמּ ֲח ֶ ֑נה ְו ָי ַ ֛שׁב ִמ ֥חוּץ ְל ָא ֳה ֖לוֹ ִשׁ ְב ַ ֥ﬠת any article of skin—in which the affection ָי ִֽמים׃ (ט) ְו ָה ָי ֩ה ַב֨יּוֹם ַה ְשּׁ ִב ִ֜יﬠי ְי ַג ַ ֣לּח is found, shall be burned, for it is a ֶאת־ ָכּל ְ־שׂ ָﬠ ֗רוֹ ֶאת־רֹ ֤אשׁוֹ ְו ֶאת־ ְז ָקנ ֙וֹ ְו ֵא ֙ת malignant eruption; it shall be consumed ַגּ ֹ֣בּת ֵﬠי ָ֔ניו ְו ֶאת־ ָכּל ְ־שׂ ָﬠ֖רוֹ ְי ַג ֵ֑לּ ַח ְו ִכ ֶ ֣בּס in fire. (53) But if the priest sees that the affection in the cloth—whether in warp or ֶאת־ ְבּ ָג ָ֗דיו ְו ָר ַ ֧חץ ֶאת־ ְבּ ָשׂ֛רוֹ ַבּ ַ ֖מּ ִים ְו ָט ֵֽהר׃ in woof, or in any article of skin—has not (י) וּ ַב ֣יּוֹם ַה ְשּׁ ִמי ִ֗ני ִי ַ ֤קּח ְשׁ ֵֽני־ ְכ ָב ִשׂי ֙ם spread, (54) the priest shall order the ְתּ ִמי ִ֔מים ְו ַכ ְב ָ ֥שׂה ַא ַ ֛חת ַבּת ְ־שׁ ָנ ָ ֖תהּ ְתּ ִמי ָ ֑מה affected article washed, and he shall ְוּשׁ ָ ֣שׁה ֶﬠ ְשׂ ֹר ִ֗נים ֤ ֹס ֶלת ִמ ְנ ָח ֙ה ְבּלוּ ָ ֣לה ַב ֔ ֶשּׁ ֶמן isolate it for another seven days. (55) And if, after the affected article has been ְו ֥ג ֶא ָ ֖חד ָֽשׁ ֶמן׃ (יא) ְו ֶה ֱﬠ ִ֞מיד ַה ֹכּ ֵ֣הן ַֽה ְמ ַט ֵ֗הר washed, the priest sees that the affection

ֵ֛את ָה ִ ֥אישׁ ַה ִמּ ַטּ ֵ֖הר ְו ֹא ָ ֑תם ִל ְפ ֵ֣ני ה' ֶ ֖פּ ַתח ֥ ֹא ֶהל has not changed color and that it has not מ ֵֽוֹﬠד׃ (יב) ְו ָל ַ֨קח ַה ֹכּ ֵ֜הן ֶאת ַ־ה ֶ ֣כּ ֶבשׂ ָה ֶא ָ֗חד spread, it is unclean. It shall be consumed in fire; it is a fret, whether on its inner side ְו ִה ְקִ ֥ריב ֹא ֛תוֹ ְל ָא ָ ֖שׁם ְו ֶאת־ ֣ג ַה ָ ֑שּׁ ֶמן ְו ֵהִ ֥ניף or on its outer side. (56) But if the priest ֹא ָ ֛תם ְתּנוּ ָ ֖פה ִל ְפ ֵ֥ני ה'׃ (יג) ְו ָשׁ ַ ֣חט ֶאת ַ־ה ֶ֗כּ ֶבשׂ sees that the affected part, after it has been ֠ ִבּ ְמקוֹם ֲא ֨ ֶשׁר ִי ְשׁ ַ ֧חט ֶאת ַֽ־ה ַח ָ ֛טּאת washed, is faded, he shall tear it out from ְו ֶאת ָ־ה ֹע ָ ֖לה ִבּ ְמ ֣קוֹם ַה ֑ ֹקּ ֶדשׁ ִ֡כּי ֠ ַכּ ַח ָטּאת the cloth or skin, whether in the warp or in the woof; (57) and if it occurs again in the ָה ָא ָ ֥שׁם הוּ ֙א ַל ֹכּ ֵ֔הן ֥ ֹק ֶדשׁ ָֽק ָד ִ ֖שׁים ֽהוּא׃ (יד) cloth—whether in warp or in woof—or in ְו ָל ַ ֣קח ַה ֹכּ ֵה֮ן ִמ ַ ֣דּם ָה ָא ָשׁ ֒ם ְו ָנ ַת֙ן ַה ֹכּ ֵ֔הן any article of skin, it is a wild growth; the ַﬠל־ ְתּ ֛נוּ ֥ ֹא ֶזן ַה ִמּ ַטּ ֵ֖הר ַה ְי ָמִ ֑נית ְו ַﬠל־ ֹ֤בּ ֶהן ָיד ֙וֹ .affected article shall be consumed in fire ַה ְי ָמ ִ֔נית ְו ַﬠל־ ֹ֥בּ ֶהן ַר ְג ֖לוֹ ַה ְי ָמִֽנית׃ (טו) ְו ָל ַ ֥קח If, however, the affection disappears (58) from the cloth—warp or woof—or from ַה ֹכּ ֵ֖הן ִמ ֣ג ַה ָ ֑שּׁ ֶמן ְו ָי ַ ֛צק ַﬠל־ ַ ֥כּף ַה ֹכּ ֵ֖הן any article of skin that has been washed, it ַה ְשּׂ ָמא ִֽלית׃ (טז) ְו ָט ַ ֤בל ַה ֹכּ ֵה֙ן ֶאת־ ֶא ְצ ָבּ ֣ﬠוֹ shall be washed again, and it shall be ַה ְי ָמ ִ֔נית ִמן ַ־ה ֕ ֶשּׁ ֶמן ֲא ֶ ֥שׁר ַﬠל־ ַכּ ֖פּוֹ ַה ְשּׂ ָמא ִ ֑לית clean. (59) Such is the procedure for ְו ִה ָ֨זּה ִמן ַ־ה ֶ ֧שּׁ ֶמן ְבּ ֶא ְצ ָבּ ֛ﬠוֹ ֶ ֥שׁ ַבע ְפּ ָﬠ ִ ֖מים ִל ְפ ֵ֥ני eruptive affections of cloth, woolen or linen, in warp or in woof, or of any article ה'׃ (יז) וּ ִמֶ֨יּ ֶתר ַה ֜ ֶשּׁ ֶמן ֲא ֶ ֣שׁר ַﬠל־ ַכּ ֗פּוֹ ִי ֵ֤תּן of skin, for pronouncing it clean or ַה ֹכּ ֵה֙ן ַﬠל־ ְתּ ֞נוּ ֤ ֹא ֶזן ַה ִמּ ַטּ ֵה ֙ר ַה ְי ָמ ִ֔נית ,unclean. (1) The LORD spoke to Moses ְו ַﬠל־ ֹ֤בּ ֶהן ָיד ֙וֹ ַה ְי ָמ ִ֔נית ְו ַﬠל־ ֹ֥בּ ֶהן ַר ְג ֖לוֹ saying: (2) This shall be the ritual for a leper at the time that he is to be cleansed. ַה ְי ָמִ ֑נית ַ ֖ﬠל ַ ֥דּם ָה ָא ָֽשׁם׃ (יח) ְו ַהנּוֹ ָ֗תר ַבּ ֶ֙שּׁ ֶמ֙ן When it has been reported to the priest, (3) ֲא ֶשׁ ֙ר ַﬠל־ ַ ֣כּף ַה ֹכּ ֵ֔הן ִי ֵ֖תּן ַﬠל ֣־רֹאשׁ ַה ִמּ ַטּ ֵ֑הר the priest shall go outside the camp. If the ְו ִכ ֶ ֥פּר ָﬠ ָ ֛ליו ַה ֹכּ ֵ֖הן ִל ְפ ֵ֥ני ה'׃ (יט) ְו ָﬠ ָ ֤שׂה ַה ֹכּ ֵה֙ן priest sees that the leper has been healed ֶאת ַ ֣־ה ַח ָ֔טּאת ְו ִכ ֶ֕פּר ַﬠל ַ־ה ִמּ ַטּ ֵ֖הר ִמ ֻטּ ְמ ָא ֑תוֹ of his scaly affection, (4) the priest shall order two live clean birds, cedar wood, (כ) ְו ַא ַ ֖חר ִי ְשׁ ַ ֥חט ֶאת ָ־ה ֹע ָֽלה׃ ְו ֶה ֱﬠ ָ ֧לה ַה ֹכּ ֵ֛הן crimson stuff, and hyssop to be brought ֶאת ָ־ה ֹע ָ ֥לה ְו ֶאת ַ־ה ִמּ ְנ ָ ֖חה ַה ִמּ ְז ֵ֑בּ ָחה ְו ִכ ֶ ֥פּר for him who is to be cleansed. (5) The ָﬠ ָ ֛ליו ַה ֹכּ ֵ֖הן ְו ָט ֵֽהר׃ (ס) (כא) ְו ִאם־ ַ ֣דּל ֗הוּא priest shall order one of the birds ְו ֵ֣אין ָיד ֮וֹ ַמ ֶשּׂ ֶג ֒ת ְ֠ו ָל ַקח ֶ ֣כּ ֶבשׂ ֶא ָ ֥חד ָא ָ ֛שׁם slaughtered over fresh water in an earthen vessel; (6) and he shall take the live bird, ִל ְתנוּ ָ ֖פה ְל ַכ ֵ֣פּר ָﬠ ָ ֑ליו ְו ִﬠ ָשּׂ ֨רוֹן ֹ֜ס ֶלת ֶא ָ֨חד along with the cedar wood, the crimson ָבּ ֥לוּל ַבּ ֶ ֛שּׁ ֶמן ְל ִמ ְנ ָ ֖חה ְו ֥ג ָֽשׁ ֶמן׃ (כב) ְוּשׁ ֵ֣תּי stuff, and the hyssop, and dip them ֹת ִ֗רים ֤אוֹ ְשׁ ֵנ֙י ְבּ ֵ֣ני יוֹ ָ֔נה ֲא ֶ ֥שׁר ַתּ ִ ֖שּׂיג ָי ֑דוֹ together with the live bird in the blood of ְו ָה ָי֤ה ֶא ָח ֙ד ַח ָ֔טּאת ְו ָה ֶא ָ ֖חד ֹע ָֽלה׃ (כג) ְו ֵה ִ֨ביא the bird that was slaughtered over the fresh water. (7) He shall then sprinkle it seven ֹא ָ֜תם ַבּ ֧יּוֹם ַה ְשּׁ ִמיִ ֛ני ְל ָט ֳה ָר ֖תוֹ ֶאל ַ־ה ֹכּ ֵ֑הן times on him who is to be cleansed of the ֶאל־ ֶ ֥פּ ַתח ֽ ֹא ֶהל־מ ֵ֖וֹﬠד ִל ְפ ֵ֥ני ה'׃ (כד) ְו ָל ַ ֧קח eruption and cleanse him; and he shall set ַה ֹכּ ֵ֛הן ֶאת־ ֶ ֥כּ ֶבשׂ ָה ָא ָ ֖שׁם ְו ֶאת־ ֣ג ַה ָ ֑שּׁ ֶמן (the live bird free in the open country. (8 The one to be cleansed shall wash his ְו ֵה ִ֨ניף ֹא ָ ֧תם ַה ֹכּ ֵ֛הן ְתּנוּ ָ ֖פה ִל ְפ ֵ֥ני ה'׃ (כה) clothes, shave off all his hair, and bathe in ְו ָשׁ ַח ֮ט ֶאת־ ֶ ֣כּ ֶבשׂ ָֽה ָא ָשׁ ֒ם ְו ָל ַ ֤קח ַה ֹכּ ֵה֙ן ִמ ַ ֣דּם water; then he shall be clean. After that he ָֽה ָא ֔ ָשׁם ְו ָנ ַ ֛תן ַﬠל־ ְתּ ֥נוּ ֽ ֹא ֶזן ַ־ה ִמּ ַטּ ֵ֖הר ַה ְי ָמִ ֑נית may enter the camp, but he must remain ְו ַﬠל־ ֹ֤בּ ֶהן ָיד ֙וֹ ַה ְי ָמ ִ֔נית ְו ַﬠל־ ֹ֥בּ ֶהן ַר ְג ֖לוֹ outside his tent seven days. ַה ְי ָמ ִ֔נית ִמן ַ־ה ֕ ֶשּׁ ֶמן ֲא ֶ ֥שׁר ַﬠל־ ַכּ ֖פּוֹ ַה ְשּׂ ָמא ִ ֑לית ;his clothes and bathe his body in water ֶ ֥שׁ ַבע ְפּ ָﬠ ִ ֖מים ִל ְפ ֵ֥ני ה'׃ (כח) ְו ָנ ַ֨תן ַה ֹכּ ֵ֜הן then he shall be clean. (10) On the eighth day he shall take two male lambs without ִמן ַ־ה ֶ ֣שּׁ ֶמן ׀ ֲא ֶ ֣שׁר ַﬠל־ ַכּ ֗פּוֹ ַﬠל־ ְתּ ֞נוּ ֤ ֹא ֶזן blemish, one ewe lamb in its first year ַה ִמּ ַטּ ֵה ֙ר ַה ְי ָמ ִ֔נית ְו ַﬠל־ ֹ֤בּ ֶהן ָיד ֙וֹ ַה ְי ָמ ִ֔נית without blemish, three-tenths of a measure ְו ַﬠל־ ֹ֥בּ ֶהן ַר ְג ֖לוֹ ַה ְי ָמִ ֑נית ַﬠל־ ְמ ֖קוֹם ַ ֥דּם of choice flour with oil mixed in for a ָה ָא ָֽשׁם׃ (כט) ְו ַהנּוֹ ָ֗תר ִמן ַ־ה ֶ֙שּׁ ֶמ֙ן ֲא ֶשׁ ֙ר (meal offering, and one log of oil. (11 These shall be presented before the ַﬠל־ ַ ֣כּף ַה ֹכּ ֵ֔הן ִי ֵ֖תּן ַﬠל ֣־רֹאשׁ ַה ִמּ ַטּ ֵ֑הר ְל ַכ ֵ֥פּר LORD, with the man to be cleansed, at the ָﬠ ָ ֖ליו ִל ְפ ֵ֥ני ה'׃ (ל) ְו ָﬠ ָ ֤שׂה ֶאת ָֽ־ה ֶא ָח ֙ד entrance of the Tent of Meeting, by the ִמן ַ־ה ֹתּ ִ֔רים ֖אוֹ ִמן־ ְבּ ֵ֣ני ַהיּוֹ ָ ֑נה ֵמ ֲא ֶ ֥שׁר ַתּ ִ ֖שּׂיג priest who performs the cleansing. (12) The ָי ֽדוֹ׃ (לא) ֵ֣את ֲא ֶשׁר־ ַתּ ִ֞שּׂיג ָי ֗דוֹ ֶאת ָ־ה ֶא ָ ֥חד priest shall take one of the male lambs and offer it with the log of oil as a guilt ַח ָ ֛טּאת ְו ֶאת ָ־ה ֶא ָ ֥חד ֹע ָ ֖לה ַﬠל ַ־ה ִמּ ְנ ָ ֑חה ְו ִכ ֶ ֧פּר offering, and he shall elevate them as an ַה ֹכּ ֵ֛הן ַ ֥ﬠל ַה ִמּ ַטּ ֵ֖הר ִל ְפ ֵ֥ני ה'׃ (לב) ֣זֹאת תּ ַ֔וֹרת (elevation offering before the LORD. (13 ֲא ֶשׁר־ ֖בּוֹ ֶ ֣נ ַגע ָצ ָ ֑ר ַﬠת ֲא ֶ ֛שׁר ֽלֹא־ ַת ִ ֥שּׂיג ָי ֖דוֹ The lamb shall be slaughtered at the spot in the sacred area where the sin offering ְבּ ָט ֳה ָר ֽתוֹ׃ (פ) (לג) ַו ְי ַד ֵ֣בּר ה' ֶאל־ ֹמ ֶ ֥שׁה and the burnt offering are slaughtered. For ְו ֶֽאל־ ַא ֲה֖ ֹרן ֵלא ֹֽמר׃ (לד) ִ ֤כּי ָת ֹ֨בא ֙וּ ֶאל־ ֶ ֣א ֶרץ ,the guilt offering, like the sin offering ְכּ ַ֔נ ַﬠן ֲא ֶ ֥שׁר ֲאִ ֛ני ֹנ ֵ֥תן ָל ֶ ֖כם ַל ֲא ֻח ָ ֑זּה ְו ָנ ַת ִתּ֙י ֶ ֣נ ַגע goes to the priest; it is most holy. (14) The ָצ ַ֔ר ַﬠת ְבּ ֵ֖בית ֶ ֥א ֶרץ ֲא ֻח ַזּ ְת ֶֽכם׃ (לה) וּ ָב ֙א priest shall take some of the blood of the ֲא ֶשׁר־ ֣לוֹ ַה ַ֔בּ ִית ְו ִהִ ֥גּיד ַל ֹכּ ֵ֖הן ֵלא ֹ֑מר ְכּ ֶ֕נ ַגע guilt offering, and the priest shall put it on the ridge of the right ear of him who is ִנ ְר ָ ֥אה ִ ֖לי ַבּ ָֽבּ ִית׃ (לו) ְו ִצ ָ֨וּה ַה ֹכּ ֵ֜הן וּ ִפ ֣נּוּ being cleansed, and on the thumb of his ֶאת ַ־ה ַ֗בּ ִית ְבּ ֶ֨ט ֶרם ָי ֤בֹא ַה ֹכּ ֵה֙ן ִל ְר ֣אוֹת right hand, and on the big toe of his right ֶאת ַ־ה ֶ֔נּ ַגע ְו ֥לֹא ִי ְט ָ ֖מא ָכּל־ ֲא ֶ ֣שׁר ַבּ ָ ֑בּ ִית ְו ַ ֥א ַחר foot. (15) The priest shall then take some of the log of oil and pour it into the palm of ֵ֛כּן ָי ֥בֹא ַה ֹכּ ֵ֖הן ִל ְר ֥אוֹת ֶאת ַ־ה ָֽבּ ִית׃ (לז) ְו ָר ָ ֣אה his own left hand. (16) And the priest shall ֶאת ַ־ה ֶ֗נּ ַגע ְו ִה ֵ֤נּה ַה ֶ֙נּ ַג ֙ע ְבּ ִק ֣ ֹירת ַה ַ֔בּ ִית dip his right finger in the oil that is in the ְשׁ ַֽק ֲﬠר ֹוּר ֙ת ְי ַר ְק ַר ֹ֔קּת ֖אוֹ ֲא ַד ְמ ַדּ ֹ֑מּת וּ ַמ ְר ֵא ֶ ֥יהן palm of his left hand and sprinkle some of ָשׁ ָ ֖פל ִמן ַ־ה ִֽקּיר׃ (לח) ְו ָי ָ ֧צא ַה ֹכּ ֵ֛הן ִמן ַ־ה ַ ֖בּ ִית the oil with his finger seven times before the LORD. (17) Some of the oil left in his ֶאל־ ֶ ֣פּ ַתח ַה ָ ֑בּ ִית ְו ִה ְסִ ֥גּיר ֶאת ַ־ה ַ ֖בּ ִית ִשׁ ְב ַ ֥ﬠת palm shall be put by the priest on the ridge ָי ִֽמים׃ (לט) ְו ָ ֥שׁב ַה ֹכּ ֵ֖הן ַבּ ֣יּוֹם ַה ְשּׁ ִב ִ ֑יﬠי ְו ָר ָ֕אה ,of the right ear of the one being cleansed ְו ִה ֵ֛נּה ָפּ ָ ֥שׂה ַה ֶ ֖נּ ַגע ְבּ ִק ֥ ֹירת ַה ָֽבּ ִית׃ (מ) ְו ִצ ָוּ ֙ה on the thumb of his right hand, and on the ַה ֹכּ ֵ֔הן ְו ִח ְלּצ ֙וּ ֶאת ָ ֣־ה ֲא ָב ִ֔נים ֲא ֶ ֥שׁר ָבּ ֵ֖הן ַה ָ ֑נּ ַגע big toe of his right foot—over the blood of the guilt offering. (18) The rest of the oil in ְו ִה ְשׁ ִ ֤ליכוּ ֶא ְת ֶה֙ן ֶאל־ ִמ ֣חוּץ ָל ִ֔ﬠיר ֶאל־ ָמ ֖קוֹם his palm the priest shall put on the head of ָט ֵֽמא׃ (מא) ְו ֶאת ַ־ה ַ ֛בּ ִית ַי ְק ִ ֥צ ַﬠ ִמ ַ ֖בּ ִית ָס ִ ֑ביב the one being cleansed. Thus the priest ְו ָשׁ ְפ ֗כוּ ֶאת ֶֽ־ה ָﬠ ָפ ֙ר ֲא ֶ ֣שׁר ִה ְק ֔צוּ ֶאל־ ִמ ֣חוּץ shall make expiation for him before the LORD. (19) The priest shall then offer the ָל ִ֔ﬠיר ֶאל־ ָמ ֖קוֹם ָט ֵֽמא׃ (מב) ְו ָל ְקח ֙וּ ֲא ָבִ ֣נים sin offering and make expiation for the ֲא ֵח ֔רוֹת ְו ֵה ִ ֖ביאוּ ֶאל־ ַ ֣תּ ַחת ָה ֲא ָבִ ֑נים ְו ָﬠ ָ ֥פר .one being cleansed of his uncleanness ַא ֵ֛חר ִי ַ ֖קּח ְו ָ ֥טח ֶאת ַ־ה ָֽבּ ִית׃ (מג) ְו ִאם־ ָי ֤שׁוּב Last, the burnt offering shall be ַה ֶ֙נּ ַג ֙ע וּ ָפ ַ ֣רח ַבּ ַ֔בּ ִית ַא ַ ֖חר ִח ֵ֣לּץ ֶאת ָ־ה ֲא ָבִ ֑נים slaughtered, (20) and the priest shall offer ְו ַא ֲח ֵ֛רי ִה ְק ֥צוֹת ֶאת ַ־ה ַ ֖בּ ִית ְו ַא ֲח ֵ֥רי ִה ֽטּוֹ ַח׃ the burnt offering and the meal offering on the altar, and the priest shall make (מד) וּ ָב ֙א ַה ֹכּ ֵ֔הן ְו ָר ָ֕אה ְו ִה ֵ֛נּה ָפּ ָ ֥שׂה ַה ֶ ֖נּ ַגע .expiation for him. ַבּ ָ ֑בּ ִית ָצ ַ֨ר ַﬠת ַמ ְמ ֶ ֥א ֶרת ִ ֛הוא ַבּ ַ ֖בּ ִית ָט ֵ֥מא ֽהוּא׃ If, however, he is poor and his means (21) (מה) ְו ָנ ַ ֣תץ ֶאת ַ־ה ַ֗בּ ִית ֶאת־ ֲא ָב ָני ֙ו ְו ֶאת ֵ־ﬠ ָ֔ציו are insufficient, he shall take one male lamb for a guilt offering, to be elevated in ְו ֵ֖את ָכּל ֲ־ﬠ ַ ֣פר ַה ָ ֑בּ ִית ְוהוֹ ִצי ֙א ֶאל־ ִמ ֣חוּץ ָל ִ֔ﬠיר expiation for him, one-tenth of a measure ֶאל־ ָמ ֖קוֹם ָט ֵֽמא׃ (מו) ְו ַה ָבּ ֙א ֶאל ַ־ה ַ֔בּ ִית of choice flour with oil mixed in for a ָכּל־ ְי ֵ֖מי ִה ְסִ ֣גּיר ֹא ֑תוֹ ִי ְט ָ ֖מא ַﬠד ָ־ה ָֽﬠ ֶרב׃ (מז) meal offering, and a log of oil; (22) and ְו ַה ֹשּׁ ֵ֣כב ַבּ ַ֔בּ ִית ְי ַכ ֵ֖בּס ֶאת־ ְבּ ָג ָ ֑דיו ְו ָה ֹא ֵ֣כל two turtledoves or two pigeons, depending on his means, the one to be the sin offering (מח) ַבּ ַ֔בּ ִית ְי ַכ ֵ֖בּס ֶאת־ ְבּ ָג ָֽדיו׃ ְו ִאם־ ֨בֹּא ָי ֜בֹא and the other the burnt offering. (23) On ַה ֹכּ ֵ֗הן ְו ָר ָא ֙ה ְ֠ו ִה ֵנּה לֹא־ ָפ ָ ֤שׂה ַה ֶ֙נּ ַג ֙ע ַבּ ַ֔בּ ִית the eighth day of his cleansing he shall ַא ֲח ֵ֖רי ִה ֣ ֹטּ ַח ֶאת ַ־ה ָ ֑בּ ִית ְו ִט ַ ֤הר ַה ֹכּ ֵה֙ן bring them to the priest at the entrance of ֶאת ַ־ה ַ֔בּ ִית ִ ֥כּי ִנ ְר ָ ֖פּא ַה ָֽנּ ַגע׃ (מט) ְו ָל ַ ֛קח .the Tent of Meeting, before the LORD (24) The priest shall take the lamb of guilt ְל ַח ֵ֥טּא ֶאת ַ־ה ַ ֖בּ ִית ְשׁ ֵ֣תּי ִצ ֳפִּ ֑רים ְו ֵ֣ﬠץ ֶ֔א ֶרז offering and the log of oil, and elevate ְוּשִׁ ֥ני תוֹ ַ ֖ל ַﬠת ְו ֵא ֹֽזב׃ (נ) ְו ָשׁ ַ ֖חט ֶאת ַ־ה ִצּ ֹ֣פּר them as an elevation offering before the ָה ֶא ָ ֑חת ֶאל־ ְכּ ִלי־ ֶ ֖ח ֶרשׂ ַﬠל־ ַ ֥מ ִים ַחִֽיּים׃ (נא) LORD. (25) When the lamb of guilt ְו ָל ַ ֣קח ֶאת ֵֽ־ﬠץ ֠ ָ־ה ֶא ֶרז ְו ֶאת ָ֨־ה ֵא֜ ֹזב ְו ֵ֣את ׀ ְשִׁ ֣ני offering has been slaughtered, the priest shall take some of the blood of the guilt ַהתּוֹ ֗ ַל ַﬠת ְו ֵא ֮ת ַה ִצּ ֹ֣פּר ַֽה ַח ָיּ ֒ה ְו ָט ַ ֣בל ֹא ָ֗תם ְבּ ַד ֙ם offering and put it on the ridge of the right ַה ִצּ ֹ֣פּר ַה ְשּׁחוּ ָ֔טה וּ ַב ַ ֖מּ ִים ַֽה ַחִ ֑יּים ְו ִה ָ ֥זּה ear of the one being cleansed, on the ֶאל ַ־ה ַ ֖בּ ִית ֶ ֥שׁ ַבע ְפּ ָﬠ ִֽמים׃ (נב) ְו ִח ֵ֣טּא thumb of his right hand, and on the big toe ֶאת ַ־ה ַ֔בּ ִית ְבּ ַד ֙ם ַה ִצּ ֔פּוֹר וּ ַב ַ ֖מּ ִים ַֽה ַחִ ֑יּים of his right foot. (26) The priest shall then pour some of the oil into the palm of his וּ ַב ִצּ ֹ֣פּר ַה ַחָ֗יּה וּ ְב ֵ֥ﬠץ ָה ֶ ֛א ֶרז וּ ָב ֵא ֹ֖זב וּ ִב ְשִׁ ֥ני own left hand, (27) and with the finger of ַהתּוֹ ָֽל ַﬠת׃ (נג) ְו ִשׁ ֞ ַלּח ֶאת ַ־ה ִצּ ֹ֧פּר ַֽה ַח ָיּ֛ה his right hand the priest shall sprinkle ֶאל־ ִמ ֥חוּץ ָל ִ ֖ﬠיר ֶאל־ ְפּ ֵ֣ני ַה ָשּׂ ֶ ֑דה ְו ִכ ֶ ֥פּר some of the oil that is in the palm of his left hand seven times before the LORD. ַﬠל ַ־ה ַ ֖בּ ִית ְו ָט ֵֽהר׃ (נד) ֖זֹאת ַהתּ ָ ֑וֹרה ְל ָכל־ ֶ ֥נ ַגע (28) Some of the oil in his palm shall be ַה ָצּ ַ ֖ר ַﬠת ְו ַל ָֽנּ ֶתק׃ (נה) וּ ְל ָצ ַ ֥ר ַﬠת ַה ֶ ֖בּ ֶגד ְו ַל ָֽבּ ִית׃ put by the priest on the ridge of the right (נו) ְו ַל ְשׂ ֵ֥את ְו ַל ַסּ ַ ֖פּ ַחת ְו ַל ֶבּ ָֽה ֶרת׃ (נז) ְלה ֹ֕וֹרת ear of the one being cleansed, on the ְבּ ֥יוֹם ַה ָטּ ֵ֖מא וּ ְב ֣יוֹם ַה ָטּ ֹ֑הר ֥זֹאת תּ ַ ֖וֹרת thumb of his right hand, and on the big toe of his right foot, over the same places as (א) ַה ָצּ ָֽר ַﬠת׃ (ס) ַו ְי ַד ֵ֣בּר ה' ֶאל־ ֹמ ֶ ֥שׁה the blood of the guilt offering; (29) and ְו ֶֽאל־ ַא ֲה֖ ֹרן ֵלא ֹֽמר׃ (ב) ַדּ ְבּר ֙וּ ֶאל־ ְבּ ֵ֣ני what is left of the oil in his palm the priest ִי ְשׂ ָר ֵ֔אל ַו ֲא ַמ ְר ֶ ֖תּם ֲא ֵל ֶ ֑הם ִ ֣אישׁ ִ֗אישׁ ִ ֤כּי ִי ְה ֶי ֙ה shall put on the head of the one being ָז֣ב ִמ ְבּ ָשׂ ֔רוֹ זוֹ ֖בוֹ ָט ֵ֥מא ֽהוּא׃ (ג) ְו ֛זֹאת ִתּ ְה ֶי֥ה cleansed, to make expiation for him before the LORD. (30) He shall then offer one of ֻט ְמ ָא ֖תוֹ ְבּזוֹ ֑בוֹ ָ ֣רר ְבּ ָשׂ ֞רוֹ ֶאת־זוֹ ֗בוֹ the turtledoves or pigeons, depending on ֽאוֹ ֶ־ה ְח ִ ֤תּים ְבּ ָשׂר ֙וֹ ִמזּוֹ ֔בוֹ ֻט ְמ ָא ֖תוֹ ִֽהוא׃ (ד) his means— (31) whichever he can afford ָכּל ַ־ה ִמּ ְשׁ ָ֗כּב ֲא ֨ ֶשׁר ִי ְשׁ ַ ֥כּב ָﬠ ָ ֛ליו ַה ָ ֖זּב ִי ְט ָ ֑מא the one as a sin offering and the other as— a burnt offering, together with the meal ְו ָֽכל ַ־ה ְכּ ִ ֛לי ֲא ֶשׁר־ ֵי ֵ֥שׁב ָﬠ ָ ֖ליו ִי ְט ָֽמא׃ (ה) ְו ִ֕אישׁ offering. Thus the priest shall make ֲא ֶ ֥שׁר ִי ַ ֖גּע ְבּ ִמ ְשׁ ָכּ ֑בוֹ ְי ַכ ֵ֧בּס ְבּ ָג ָ ֛דיו ְו ָר ַ ֥חץ ַבּ ַ ֖מּ ִים expiation before the LORD for the one ְו ָט ֵ֥מא ַﬠד ָ־ה ָֽﬠ ֶרב׃ (ו) ְו ַה ֹיּ ֵשׁ ֙ב ַֽﬠל ַ־ה ְכּ ִ֔לי being cleansed. (32) Such is the ritual for ֲא ֶשׁר־ ֵי ֵ֥שׁב ָﬠ ָ ֖ליו ַה ָ ֑זּב ְי ַכ ֵ֧בּס ְבּ ָג ָ ֛דיו ְו ָר ַ ֥חץ him who has a scaly affection and whose means for his cleansing are limited. (33) ַבּ ַ ֖מּ ִים ְו ָט ֵ֥מא ַﬠד ָ־ה ָֽﬠ ֶרב׃ (ז) ְו ַה ֹנּ ֵ֖ג ַﬠ ִבּ ְב ַ ֣שׂר The LORD spoke to Moses and Aaron, ַה ָ ֑זּב ְי ַכ ֵ֧בּס ְבּ ָג ָ ֛דיו ְו ָר ַ ֥חץ ַבּ ַ ֖מּ ִים ְו ָט ֵ֥מא saying: (34) When you enter the land of

ַﬠד ָ־ה ָֽﬠ ֶרב׃ (ח) ְו ִֽכי־ ָי֛ ֹרק ַה ָ ֖זּב ַבּ ָטּ ֑הוֹר ְו ִכ ֶ ֧בּס ,Canaan that I give you as a possession ְבּ ָג ָ ֛דיו ְו ָר ַ ֥חץ ַבּ ַ ֖מּ ִים ְו ָט ֵ֥מא ַﬠד ָ־ה ָֽﬠ ֶרב׃ (ט) and I inflict an eruptive plague upon a house in the land you possess, (35) the ְו ָכל ַ־ה ֶמּ ְר ָ֗כּב ֲא ֨ ֶשׁר ִי ְר ַ ֥כּב ָﬠ ָ ֛ליו ַה ָ ֖זּב ִי ְט ָֽמא׃ owner of the house shall come and tell the (י) ְו ָכל ַ־ה ֹנּ ֵ֗ג ַﬠ ְבּ ֹכ ֙ל ֲא ֶ ֣שׁר ִי ְה ֶי֣ה ַת ְח ָ֔תּיו ִי ְט ָ ֖מא priest, saying, “Something like a plague ַﬠד ָ־ה ָ ֑ﬠ ֶרב ְו ַהנּ ֵ֣וֹשׂא אוֹ ָ֔תם ְי ַכ ֵ֧בּס ְבּ ָג ָ ֛דיו ְו ָר ַ ֥חץ has appeared upon my house.” (36) The ַבּ ַ ֖מּ ִים ְו ָט ֵ֥מא ַﬠד ָ־ה ָֽﬠ ֶרב׃ (יא) ְו ֹ֨כל ֲא ֶ ֤שׁר priest shall order the house cleared before the priest enters to examine the plague, so ִי ַגּע־בּ ֙וֹ ַה ָ֔זּב ְו ָי ָ ֖דיו לֹא ָ־שׁ ַ ֣טף ַבּ ָ ֑מּ ִים ְו ִכ ֶ ֧בּס that nothing in the house may become ְבּ ָג ָ ֛דיו ְו ָר ַ ֥חץ ַבּ ַ ֖מּ ִים ְו ָט ֵ֥מא ַﬠד ָ־ה ָֽﬠ ֶרב׃ (יב) unclean; after that the priest shall enter to וּ ְכ ִלי־ ֶ ֛ח ֶרשׂ ֲא ֶשׁר־ ִי ַגּע־ ֥בּוֹ ַה ָ ֖זּב ִי ָשּׁ ֵ֑בר examine the house. (37) If, when he ְו ָכל־ ְכּ ִלי ֵ֔־ﬠץ ִי ָשּׁ ֵ֖טף ַבּ ָֽמּ ִים׃ (יג) ְו ִֽכי־ ִי ְט ַ ֤הר examines the plague, the plague in the walls of the house is found to consist of ַה ָזּ ֙ב ִמזּוֹ ֔בוֹ ְו ָ֨ס ַפר ֜לוֹ ִשׁ ְב ַ ֥ﬠת ָי ִ ֛מים ְל ָט ֳה ָר ֖תוֹ greenish or reddish streaks that appear to ְו ִכ ֶ ֣בּס ְבּ ָג ָ ֑דיו ְו ָר ַ ֧חץ ְבּ ָשׂ֛רוֹ ְבּ ַ ֥מ ִים ַחִ ֖יּים ְו ָט ֵֽהר׃ go deep into the wall, (38) the priest shall (יד) וּ ַב ֣יּוֹם ַה ְשּׁ ִמי ִ֗ני ִֽי ַֽקּח־ל ֙וֹ ְשׁ ֵ֣תּי ֹת ִ֔רים ֥אוֹ come out of the house to the entrance of ְשׁ ֵ֖ני ְבּ ֵ֣ני יוֹ ָ ֑נה וּ ָ ֣בא ׀ ִל ְפ ֵ֣ני ה' ֶאל־ ֶ֙פּ ַת ֙ח ֣ ֹא ֶהל the house, and close up the house for seven days. (39) On the seventh day the מ ֵ֔וֹﬠד וּ ְנ ָת ָ ֖נם ֶאל ַ־ה ֹכּ ֵֽהן׃ (טו) ְו ָﬠ ָ ֤שׂה ֹא ָת ֙ם priest shall return. If he sees that the ַה ֹכּ ֵ֔הן ֶא ָ ֣חד ַח ָ֔טּאת ְו ָה ֶא ָ ֖חד ֹע ָ ֑לה ְו ִכ ֶ֨פּר ָﬠ ָ ֧ליו plague has spread on the walls of the ַה ֹכּ ֵ֛הן ִל ְפ ֵ֥ני ה' ִמזּוֹ ֽבוֹ׃ (ס) (טז) ְו ִ֕אישׁ house, (40) the priest shall order the stones ִֽכּי־ ֵת ֵ֥צא ִמ ֶ ֖מּנּוּ ִשׁ ְכ ַבת־ ָז֑ ַ רע ְו ָר ַ ֥חץ ַבּ ַ ֛מּ ִים with the plague in them to be pulled out and cast outside the city into an unclean ֶאת־ ָכּל־ ְבּ ָשׂ֖רוֹ ְו ָט ֵ֥מא ַﬠד ָ־ה ָֽﬠ ֶרב׃ (יז) place. (41) The house shall be scraped ְו ָכל־ ֶ ֣בּ ֶגד ְו ָכל ֔־עוֹר ֲא ֶשׁר־ ִי ְה ֶי֥ה ָﬠ ָ ֖ליו inside all around, and the coating that is ִשׁ ְכ ַבת־ ָז֑ ַ רע ְו ֻכ ַ ֥בּס ַבּ ַ ֖מּ ִים ְו ָט ֵ֥מא ַﬠד ָ־ה ָֽﬠ ֶרב׃ scraped off shall be dumped outside the city in an unclean place. (42) They shall (יח) (פ) ְו ִא ֕ ָשּׁה ֲא ֨ ֶשׁר ִי ְשׁ ַ ֥כּב ִ ֛אישׁ ֹא ָ ֖תהּ take other stones and replace those stones ִשׁ ְכ ַבת־ ָז֑ ַ רע ְו ָר ֲח ֣צוּ ַב ַ֔מּ ִים ְו ָט ְמ ֖אוּ with them, and take other coating and ַﬠד ָ־ה ָֽﬠ ֶרב׃ (יט) ְו ִא ָשּׁ ֙ה ִֽכּי־ ִת ְה ֶי֣ה ָז ָ֔בה ָ ֛דּם plaster the house. (43) If the plague again ִי ְה ֶי֥ה ֹז ָ ֖בהּ ִבּ ְב ָשׂ ָ ֑רהּ ִשׁ ְב ַ ֤ﬠת ָי ִמי ֙ם ִתּ ְה ֶי֣ה breaks out in the house, after the stones have been pulled out and after the house (כ) ְב ִנ ָדּ ָ֔תהּ ְו ָכל ַ־ה ֹנּ ֵ֥ג ַﬠ ָ ֖בּהּ ִי ְט ָ ֥מא ַﬠד ָ־ה ָֽﬠ ֶרב׃ has been scraped and replastered, (44) the ְו ֹכל֩ ֲא ֨ ֶשׁר ִתּ ְשׁ ַ ֥כּב ָﬠ ָ ֛ליו ְבּ ִנ ָדּ ָ ֖תהּ ִי ְט ָ ֑מא ְו ֹ֛כל priest shall come to examine: if the plague ֲא ֶשׁר־ ֵתּ ֵ֥שׁב ָﬠ ָ ֖ליו ִי ְט ָֽמא׃ (כא) ְו ָכל ַ־ה ֹנּ ֵ֖ג ַﬠ has spread in the house, it is a malignant ְבּ ִמ ְשׁ ָכּ ָ ֑בהּ ְי ַכ ֵ֧בּס ְבּ ָג ָ ֛דיו ְו ָר ַ ֥חץ ַבּ ַ ֖מּ ִים ְו ָט ֵ֥מא (eruption in the house; it is unclean. (45 The house shall be torn down—its stones ַﬠד ָ־ה ָֽﬠ ֶרב׃ (כב) ְו ָכל ַ־ה ֹנּ ֵ֔ג ַﬠ ְבּ ָכל־ ְכּ ִ ֖לי and timber and all the coating on the house ֲא ֶשׁר־ ֵתּ ֵ֣שׁב ָﬠ ָ ֑ליו ְי ַכ ֵ֧בּס ְבּ ָג ָ ֛דיו ְו ָר ַ ֥חץ ַבּ ַ ֖מּ ִים and taken to an unclean place outside— ְו ָט ֵ֥מא ַﬠד ָ־ה ָֽﬠ ֶרב׃ (כג) ְו ִ֨אם ַֽﬠל ַ־ה ִמּ ְשׁ ָ֜כּב the city. (46) Whoever enters the house ֗הוּא ֧אוֹ ַֽﬠל ַ־ה ְכּ ִ ֛לי ֲא ֶשׁר ִ ֥־הוא ֹי ֶֽשׁ ֶבת ָ־ﬠ ָ ֖ליו while it is closed up shall be unclean until evening. (47) Whoever sleeps in the house ְבּ ָנ ְגעוֹ־ ֑בוֹ ִי ְט ָ ֖מא ַﬠד ָ־ה ָֽﬠ ֶרב׃ (כד) ְו ִ֡אם ָשׁ ֹכ ֩ב must wash his clothes, and whoever eats in ִי ְשׁ ַ֨כּב ִ֜אישׁ ֹא ָ֗תהּ וּ ְת ִ ֤הי ִנ ָדּ ָת ֙הּ ָﬠ ֔ ָליו ְו ָט ֵ֖מא ,the house must wash his clothes. (48) If ִשׁ ְב ַ ֣ﬠת ָי ִ ֑מים ְו ָכל ַ־ה ִמּ ְשׁ ָ ֛כּב ֲא ֶשׁר־ ִי ְשׁ ַ ֥כּב ָﬠ ָ ֖ליו however, the priest comes and sees that the plague has not spread in the house after ִי ְט ָֽמא׃ (פ) (כה) ְו ִא ֡ ָשּׁה ִֽכּי־ ָיזוּ ֩ב ֨זוֹב ָדּ ָ֜מהּ the house was replastered, the priest shall ָי ִ ֣מים ַר ִ֗בּים ְבּלֹ ֙א ֶﬠת־ ִנ ָדּ ָ֔תהּ ֥אוֹ ִֽכי־ ָת ֖זוּב pronounce the house clean, for the plague

ַﬠל־ ִנ ָדּ ָ ֑תהּ ָכּל־ ְי ֵ֞מי ֣זוֹב ֻט ְמ ָא ָ֗תהּ ִכּי ֵ֧מי ִנ ָדּ ָ ֛תהּ has healed. (49) To purge the house, he ִתּ ְה ֶי֖ה ְט ֵמ ָ ֥אה ִֽהוא׃ (כו) ָכּל ַ־ה ִמּ ְשׁ ָ֞כּב shall take two birds, cedar wood, crimson stuff, and hyssop. (50) He shall slaughter ֲא ֶשׁר־ ִתּ ְשׁ ַ ֤כּב ָﬠ ָלי ֙ו ָכּל־ ְי ֵ֣מי זוֹ ָ֔בהּ ְכּ ִמ ְשׁ ַ ֥כּב the one bird over fresh water in an earthen ִנ ָדּ ָ ֖תהּ ִֽי ְה ֶיה־ ָ ֑לּהּ ְו ָֽכל ַ־ה ְכּ ִל֙י ֲא ֶ ֣שׁר ֵתּ ֵ֣שׁב ָﬠ ֔ ָליו ,vessel. (51) He shall take the cedar wood ָט ֵ֣מא ִי ְהֶ֔יה ְכּ ֻט ְמ ַ ֖את ִנ ָדּ ָֽתהּ׃ (כז) ְו ָכל ַ־הנּוֹ ֵ֥ג ַﬠ the hyssop, the crimson stuff, and the live ָ ֖בּם ִי ְט ָ ֑מא ְו ִכ ֶ ֧בּס ְבּ ָג ָ ֛דיו ְו ָר ַ ֥חץ ַבּ ַ ֖מּ ִים ְו ָט ֵ֥מא bird, and dip them in the blood of the slaughtered bird and the fresh water, and (כח) ַﬠד ָ־ה ָֽﬠ ֶרב׃ ְו ִֽאם־ ָט ֲה ָ ֖רה ִמזּוֹ ָ ֑בהּ ְו ָ ֥ס ְפ ָרה (sprinkle on the house seven times. (52 ָ ֛לּהּ ִשׁ ְב ַ ֥ﬠת ָי ִ ֖מים ְו ַא ַ ֥חר ִתּ ְט ָֽהר׃ (כט) וּ ַב ֣יּוֹם Having purged the house with the blood of ַה ְשּׁ ִמי ִ֗ני ִֽתּ ַֽקּח־ ָל ֙הּ ְשׁ ֵ֣תּי ֹת ִ֔רים ֥אוֹ ְשׁ ֵ֖ני ְבּ ֵ֣ני the bird, the fresh water, the live bird, the יוֹ ָ ֑נה ְו ֵה ִבי ָ ֤אה אוֹ ָת ֙ם ֶאל ַ־ה ֹכּ ֵ֔הן ֶאל־ ֶ ֖פּ ַתח cedar wood, the hyssop, and the crimson stuff, (53) he shall set the live bird free ֥ ֹא ֶהל מ ֵֽוֹﬠד׃ (ל) ְו ָﬠ ָ ֤שׂה ַה ֹכּ ֵה֙ן ֶאת ָ־ה ֶא ָ ֣חד outside the city in the open country. Thus ַח ָ֔טּאת ְו ֶאת ָ־ה ֶא ָ ֖חד ֹע ָ ֑לה ְו ִכ ֶ֨פּר ָﬠ ֶ ֤ל ָיה ַה ֹכּ ֵה֙ן he shall make expiation for the house, and ִל ְפ ֵ֣ני ה' ִמ ֖זּוֹב ֻט ְמ ָא ָֽתהּ׃ (לא) ְו ִה ַזּ ְר ֶ ֥תּם it shall be clean. (54) Such is the ritual for ֶאת־ ְבּ ֵני־ ִי ְשׂ ָר ֵ֖אל ִמ ֻטּ ְמ ָא ָ ֑תם ְו ֤לֹא ָי ֻ֙מת ֙וּ (every eruptive affection—for scalls, (55 for an eruption on a cloth or a house, (56) ְבּ ֻט ְמ ָא ָ֔תם ְבּ ַט ְמּ ָ ֥אם ֶאת־ ִמ ְשׁ ָכִּ ֖ני ֲא ֶ ֥שׁר for swellings, for rashes, or for ְבּתוֹ ָֽכם׃ (לב) ֥זֹאת תּ ַ ֖וֹרת ַה ָ ֑זּב ַו ֲא ֨ ֶשׁר ֵתּ ֵ֥צא discolorations— (57) to determine when ִמ ֶ ֛מּנּוּ ִשׁ ְכ ַבת־ ֶז֖ ַ רע ְל ָט ְמ ָאה־ ָֽבהּ׃ (לג) ְו ַה ָדּ ָו ֙ה .they are unclean and when they are clean ְבּ ִנ ָדּ ָ֔תהּ ְו ַה ָזּ ֙ב ֶאת־זוֹ ֔בוֹ ַל ָזּ ָ ֖כר ְו ַל ְנּ ֵק ָ ֑בה (Such is the ritual concerning eruptions. (1 The LORD spoke to Moses and Aaron, וּ ְל ִ֕אישׁ ֲא ֶ ֥שׁר ִי ְשׁ ַ ֖כּב ִﬠם־ ְט ֵמ ָֽאה׃ (פ) saying: (2) Speak to the Israelite people and say to them: When any man has a discharge issuing from his member, he is unclean. (3) The uncleanness from his discharge shall mean the following— whether his member runs with the discharge or is stopped up so that there is no discharge, his uncleanness means this: (4) Any bedding on which the one with the discharge lies shall be unclean, and every object on which he sits shall be unclean. (5) Anyone who touches his bedding shall wash his clothes, bathe in water, and remain unclean until evening. (6) Whoever sits on an object on which the one with the discharge has sat shall wash his clothes, bathe in water, and remain unclean until evening. (7) Whoever touches the body of the one with the discharge shall wash his clothes, bathe in water, and remain unclean until evening. discharge has mounted shall be unclean; (10) whoever touches anything that was under him shall be unclean until evening; and whoever carries such things shall wash his clothes, bathe in water, and remain unclean until evening. (11) If one with a discharge, without having rinsed his hands in water, touches another person, that person shall wash his clothes, bathe in water, and remain unclean until evening. (12) An earthen vessel that one with a discharge touches shall be broken; and any wooden implement shall be rinsed with water. (13) When one with a discharge becomes clean of his discharge, he shall count off seven days for his cleansing, wash his clothes, and bathe his body in fresh water; then he shall be clean. (14) On the eighth day he shall take two turtledoves or two pigeons and come before the LORD at the entrance of the Tent of Meeting and give them to the priest. (15) The priest shall offer them, the one as a sin offering and the other as a burnt offering. Thus the priest shall make expiation on his behalf, for his discharge, before the LORD. (16) When a man has an emission of semen, he shall bathe his whole body in water and remain unclean until evening. (17) All cloth or leather on which semen falls shall be washed in water and remain unclean until evening. (18) And if a man has carnal relations with a woman, they shall bathe in water and remain unclean until evening. (19) When a woman has a discharge, her discharge being blood from her body, she shall remain in her impurity seven days; whoever touches her shall be unclean until evening. (20) Anything that she lies on during her impurity shall be unclean; and anything that she sits on shall be unclean. (21) Anyone who touches her bedding shall wash his clothes, bathe in water, and remain unclean until evening; (22) and anyone who touches any object on which she has sat shall wash his clothes, bathe in water, and remain unclean until evening.

(23) Be it the bedding or be it the object on which she has sat, on touching it he shall be unclean until evening. (24) And if a man lies with her, her impurity is communicated to him; he shall be unclean seven days, and any bedding on which he lies shall become unclean. (25) When a woman has had a discharge of blood for many days, not at the time of her impurity, or when she has a discharge beyond her period of impurity, she shall be unclean, as though at the time of her impurity, as long as her discharge lasts. (26) Any bedding on which she lies while her discharge lasts shall be for her like bedding during her impurity; and any object on which she sits shall become unclean, as it does during her impurity: (27) whoever touches them shall be unclean; he shall wash his clothes, bathe in water, and remain unclean until evening. (28) When she becomes clean of her discharge, she shall count off seven days, and after that she shall be clean. (29) On the eighth day she shall take two turtledoves or two pigeons, and bring them to the priest at the entrance of the Tent of Meeting. (30) The priest shall offer the one as a sin offering and the other as a burnt offering; and the priest shall make expiation on her behalf, for her unclean discharge, before the LORD. (31) You shall put the Israelites on guard against their uncleanness, lest they die through their uncleanness by defiling My Tabernacle which is among them. (32) Such is the ritual concerning him who has a discharge: concerning him who has an emission of semen and becomes unclean thereby, (33) and concerning her who is in menstrual infirmity, and concerning anyone, male or female, who has a discharge, and concerning a man who lies with an unclean woman.

(4) If ַה ָ ֑שּׁ ַﬠר ַו ֽיֹּא ְמר ֙וּ ִ ֣אישׁ ֶאל ֵ־ר ֵ֔ﬠהוּ ָ֗מה ֲא ַ ֛נ ְחנוּ we decide to go into the town, what with the famine in the town, we shall die there; (ד) ֹי ְשׁ ִ ֥בים ֹ֖פּה ַﬠד־ ָֽמ ְתנוּ׃ ִאם־ ָא ַמ ְרנ ֩וּ ָנ ֨בוֹא ,and if we just sit here, still we die. Come ָה ִ֜ﬠיר ְו ָה ָר ָ ֤ﬠב ָבּ ִﬠ ֙יר ָו ַ ֣מ ְתנוּ ֔ ָשׁם ְו ִאם־ ָי ַ ֥שׁ ְבנוּ let us desert to the Aramean camp. If they ֹ֖פה ָו ָ ֑מ ְתנוּ ְו ַﬠ ָ֗תּה ְלכ ֙וּ ְו ִנ ְפּ ָל ֙ה ֶאל־ ַמ ֲח ֵ֣נה ֲא ָ֔רם let us live, we shall live; and if they put us ִאם־ ְי ַח ֻיּ֣נוּ ִֽנ ְחֶ֔יה ְו ִאם־ ְי ִמי ֻ֖תנוּ ָו ָֽמ ְתנוּ׃ (ה) to death, we shall but die.” (5) They set out at twilight for the Aramean camp; but ַו ָיּ ֣קוּמוּ ַב ֶ֔נּ ֶשׁף ָל ֖בוֹא ֶאל־ ַמ ֲח ֵ֣נה ֲא ָ ֑רם ַו ָיּ ֹ֗באוּ when they came to the edge of the ַﬠד ְ־ק ֵצ ֙ה ַמ ֲח ֵ֣נה ֲא ָ֔רם ְו ִה ֵ֥נּה ֵֽאין ָ ֖־שׁם ִֽאישׁ׃ (Aramean camp, there was no one there. (6 (ו) ַואדושם ִה ְשׁ ִ ֣מ ַיﬠ ׀ ֶאת־ ַמ ֲח ֵ֣נה ֲא ָ֗רם ֥קוֹל For the Lord had caused the Aramean ֶ֙ר ֶכ ֙ב ֣קוֹל ֔סוּס ֖קוֹל ַ ֣ח ִיל ָגּ ֑דוֹל ַויֹּא ְמ ֞רוּ ִ ֣אישׁ camp to hear a sound of chariots, a sound of horses—the din of a huge army. They ֶאל־ ָא ִ֗חיו ִה ֵ֣נּה ָֽשׂ ַכר ָ־ﬠ ֵלינ ֩וּ ֶ֨מ ֶל ִי ְשׂ ָר ֵ֜אל said to one another, “The king of Israel ֶאת־ ַמ ְל ֵ֧כי ַה ִח ִ ֛תּים ְו ֶאת־ ַמ ְל ֵ֥כי ִמ ְצ ַ ֖ר ִים ָל ֥בוֹא must have hired the kings of the Hittites ָﬠ ֵֽלינוּ׃ (ז) ַו ָיּקוּמ ֮וּ ַו ָיּ ֣נוּסוּ ַב ֶנּ ֶשׁ ֒ף ַו ַיּ ַﬠ ְז ֣בוּ (and the kings of Mizraim to attack us!” (7 ֶאת־ ָא ֳה ֵל ֶ֗יהם ְו ֶאת־ ֽסוּ ֵס ֶיה ֙ם ְו ֶאת־ ֲח ֹ֣מ ֵר ֶ֔יהם ,And they fled headlong in the twilight abandoning their tents and horses and ַֽה ַמּ ֲח ֶ ֖נה ַכּ ֲא ֶשׁר ִ ֑־היא ַו ָיּ ֻנ֖סוּ ֶאל־ ַנ ְפ ָֽשׁם׃ (ח) asses—the [entire] camp just as it was—as ַו ָיּ ֹבא ֩וּ ַֽה ְמ ֹצ ָר ִ֨ﬠים ָה ֵ֜א ֶלּה ַﬠד ְ־ק ֵ֣צה ַֽה ַמּ ֲח ֶ֗נה they fled for their lives. (8) When those ַו ָיּ ֹ֜באוּ ֶאל־ ֤ ֹא ֶהל ֶא ָח ֙ד ַויֹּא ְכ ֣לוּ ַו ִיּ ְשׁ ֔תּוּ ַו ִיּ ְשׂ ֣אוּ lepers came to the edge of the camp, they ִמ ֗ ָשּׁם ֶ ֤כּ ֶסף ְו ָז ָה ֙ב וּ ְב ָג ִ֔דים ַו ֵיּ ְל ֖כוּ ַו ַיּ ְט ִ ֑מנוּ went into one of the tents and ate and drank; then they carried off silver and gold ַו ָיּ ֗ ֻשׁבוּ ַו ָיּ ֹ֨בא ֙וּ ֶאל־ ֣ ֹא ֶהל ַא ֵ֔חר ַו ִיּ ְשׂ ֣אוּ ִמ ֔ ָשּׁם .and clothing from there and buried it ַו ֵיּ ְל ֖כוּ ַו ַיּ ְט ִֽמנוּ׃ (ט) ַויֹּא ְמר ֩וּ ִ֨אישׁ ֶאל ֵ־ר ֵ֜ﬠהוּ They came back and went into another ֽלֹא־ ֵ֣כן ׀ ֲא ַ ֣נ ְחנוּ ֹע ִ֗שׂים ַה ֤יּוֹם ַה ֶזּ ֙ה יוֹם־ ְבּ ֹשׂ ָ ֣רה tent, and they carried off what was there and buried it. (9) Then they said to one ֔הוּא ַו ֲא ַ ֣נ ְחנוּ ַמ ְח ִ֗שׁים ְו ִח ִ ֛כּינוּ ַﬠד־ ֥אוֹר ַה ֹ֖בּ ֶקר another, “We are not doing right. This is a וּ ְמ ָצ ָ ֣אנוּ ָﬠ֑ווֹן ְו ַﬠ ָתּ ֙ה ְל ֣כוּ ְו ָנ ֹ֔ב ָאה ְו ַנִ ֖גּי ָדה ֵ֥בּית day of good news, and we are keeping ַה ֶֽמּ ֶל׃ (י) ַו ָיּ ֹ֗באוּ ַֽו ִיּ ְק ְרא ֮וּ ֶאל ֹ־שׁ ֵ֣ﬠר ָה ִﬠ ֒יר silent! If we wait until the light of ַו ַיִּ ֤גּידוּ ָל ֶה ֙ם ֵלא ֹ֔מר ֚ ָבּאנוּ ֶאל־ ַמ ֲח ֵ֣נה ֲא ָ֔רם morning, we shall incur guilt. Come, let us go and inform the king’s palace.” (10) ְו ִה ֵ֥נּה ֵֽאין ָ ֛־שׁם ִ ֖אישׁ ְו ֣קוֹל ָא ָ ֑דם ִ ֣כּי ִאם ַ־ה ֤סּוּס They went and called out to the ָאס ֙וּר ְו ַה ֲח ֣מוֹר ָא ֔סוּר ְו ֹא ָה ִ ֖לים ַכּ ֲא ֶשׁר ֵֽ־ה ָמּה׃ gatekeepers of the city and told them, “We (יא) ַו ִיּ ְק ָ ֖רא ַה ֽ ֹשּׁ ֲﬠִ ֑רים ַו ַיּ ִ֕גּידוּ ֵ֥בּית ַה ֶ ֖מּ ֶל have been to the Aramean camp. There is ְפִּֽני ָמה׃ (יב) ַוָ֨יּ ָקם ַה ֶ֜מּ ֶל ֗ ַל ְי ָלה ַו֙יֹּא ֶמ ֙ר not a soul there, nor any human sound; but the horses are tethered and the asses are ֶאל ֲ־ﬠ ָב ָ֔דיו ַאִֽגּי ָדה־ ָ ֣נּא ָל ֶ֔כם ֵ֛את ֲא ֶשׁר ָ ֥־ﬠשׂוּ ”.tethered and the tents are undisturbed ָ ֖לנוּ ֲא ָ ֑רם ָי ְד ֞עוּ ִכּי ְ־ר ֵﬠ ִ ֣בים ֲא ַ֗נ ְחנוּ ַו ֵיּ ְצ ֤אוּ The gatekeepers called out, and the (11) ִמן ַֽ־ה ַמּ ֲח ֶנ ֙ה ְל ֵה ָח ֵ֤בה בהשדה [ ַב ָשּׂ ֶד ֙ה] ֵלא ֹ֔מר .news was passed on into the king’s palace ִֽכּי־ ֵי ְצ ֤אוּ ִמן ָ־ה ִﬠ ֙יר ְו ִנ ְת ְפּ ֵ֣שׂם ַחִ֔יּים The king rose in the night and said to (12) his courtiers, “I will tell you what the ְו ֶאל ָ־ה ִ ֖ﬠיר ָנ ֽבֹא׃ (יג) ַו ַיּ ַﬠ ֩ן ֶא ָ֨חד ֵמ ֲﬠ ָב ָ֜דיו Arameans have done to us. They know ַו֗יֹּא ֶמר ְו ִי ְקחוּ־ ָ֞נא ֲח ִמ ָ ֣שּׁה ִמן ַ־הסּוּ ִסי ֮ם that we are starving, so they have gone out ַֽה ִנּ ְשׁ ָא ִרי ֮ם ֲא ֶ ֣שׁר ִנ ְשׁ ֲארוּ־ ָב ֒הּ ִה ָ֗נּם :of camp and hidden in the fields, thinking ְכּ ָכל־ההמון ֲ[ה ֤מוֹן] ִי ְשׂ ָר ֵא ֙ל ֲא ֶ ֣שׁר When they come out of the town, we will take them alive and get into the town.” (13) ִנ ְשׁ ֲארוּ־ ָ֔בהּ ִה ָ֕נּם ְכּ ָכל ֲ־ה ֥מוֹן ִי ְשׂ ָר ֵ֖אל But one of the courtiers spoke up, “Let a

ֲא ֶשׁר־ ָ ֑תּמּוּ ְו ִנ ְשׁ ְל ָ ֖חה ְו ִנ ְר ֶֽאה׃ (יד) ַו ִיּ ְק ֕חוּ ְשׁ ֵ֖ני few of the remaining horses that are still ֶ ֣ר ֶכב סוּ ִ ֑סים ַו ִיּ ְשׁ ֨ ַלח ַה ֶ֜מּ ֶל ַא ֲח ֵ֧רי here be taken—-they are like those that are left here of the whole multitude of Israel, (טו) ַמ ֲח ֵֽנה־ ֲא ָ ֛רם ֵלא ֹ֖מר ְל ֥כוּ ְוּר ֽאוּ׃ ַו ֵיּ ְל ֣כוּ out of the whole multitude of Israel that ַא ֲח ֵר ֶיה ֮ם ַﬠד ַ־ה ַיּ ְר ֵדּ ֒ן ְו ִה ֵ֣נּה ָכל ַ־ה ֶ֗דּ ֶר ְמ ֵל ָ ֤אה have perished—and let us send and find ְב ָג ִדי ֙ם ְו ֵכ ִ֔לים ֲא ֶשׁר ִ־ה ְשׁ ִ ֥ליכוּ ֲא ָ ֖רם בהחפזם out.” (14) They took two teams of horses [ ְבּ ָח ְפ ָז֑ם] ַו ָיּ ֻ֙שׁב ֙וּ ַה ַמּ ְל ָא ִ֔כים ַו ַיִּ ֖גּדוּ ַל ֶֽמּ ֶל׃ and the king sent them after the Aramean army, saying, “Go and find out.” (15) They (טז) ַו ֵיּ ֵ֣צא ָה ָ֔ﬠם ַו ָיּ ֹ֕בזּוּ ֵ֖את ַמ ֲח ֵ֣נה ֲא ָ ֑רם ַו ְי ִ֨הי followed them as far as the Jordan, and ְס ָאה־ ֹ֜ס ֶלת ְבּ ֗ ֶשׁ ֶקל ְו ָסא ַ ֧ת ִים ְשׂ ֹעִ ֛רים ְבּ ֶ ֖שׁ ֶקל found the entire road full of clothing and ִכּ ְד ַ ֥בר ה'׃ (יז) ְו ַה ֶמּ ֶל ֩ ִה ְפ ִ֨קיד ֶאת ַ־ה ָשּׁ ִ֜לישׁ gear which the Arameans had thrown ֲא ֶשׁר־ ִנ ְשׁ ָ ֤ﬠן ַﬠל־ ָיד ֙וֹ ַﬠל ַ־ה ֔ ַשּׁ ַﬠר ַו ִיּ ְר ְמ ֻ֧סהוּ away in their haste; and the messengers returned and told the king. (16) The people ָה ָ ֛ﬠם ַבּ ַ ֖שּׁ ַﬠר ַו ָיּ ֹ֑מת ַכּ ֲא ֶ ֤שׁר ִדּ ֶבּ ֙ר ִ ֣אישׁ then went out and plundered the Aramean ָה ֱא ִ֔קים ֲא ֶ ֣שׁר ִדּ ֶ֔בּר ְבּ ֶ ֥ר ֶדת ַה ֶ ֖מּ ֶל ֵא ָֽליו׃ (יח) camp. So a seah of choice flour sold for a ַו ְי ִ֗הי ְכּ ַד ֵבּ ֙ר ִ ֣אישׁ ָה ֱא ִ֔קים ֶאל ַ־ה ֶ ֖מּ ֶל ֵלא ֹ֑מר shekel, and two seahs of barley for a ָסא ַ֨ת ִים ְשׂ ֹע ִ֜רים ְבּ ֗ ֶשׁ ֶקל ֽוּ ְס ָאה־ ֹ֨ס ֶל ֙ת ְבּ ֔ ֶשׁ ֶקל (shekel—as the LORD had spoken. (17 Now the king had put the aide on whose ִי ְה ֶי ֙ה ָכּ ֵ֣ﬠת ָמ ָ֔חר ְבּ ַ ֖שׁ ַﬠר ֹשׁ ְמֽרוֹן׃ (יט) ַוַ֨יּ ַﬠן arm he leaned in charge of the gate; and he ַה ָשּׁ ִ֜לישׁ ֶאת־ ִ ֣אישׁ ָה ֱא ִקי ֮ם ַויֹּא ַמ ֒ר ְו ִה ֵ֣נּה ה' was trampled to death in the gate by the ֹע ֶ ֤שׂה ֲא ֻרבּוֹ ֙ת ַבּ ָשּׁ ַ֔מ ִים ֲה ִי ְה ֶי֖ה ַכּ ָדּ ָ ֣בר ַה ֶ ֑זּה people—just as the man of God had ַו֗יֹּא ֶמר ִה ְנּ ֤ ֹר ֶא ֙ה ְבּ ֵﬠי ֶ֔ני וּ ִמ ָ ֖שּׁם ֥לֹא תֹא ֵֽכל׃ spoken, as he had spoken when the king came down to him. (18) For when the man (כ) ַו ְי ִהי־ ֖לוֹ ֵ֑כּן ַו ִיּ ְר ְמ ֨סוּ ֹא ֥תוֹ ָה ָ ֛ﬠם ַבּ ַ ֖שּׁ ַﬠר of God said to the king, “This time ַו ָיּ ֹֽמת׃ (ס) tomorrow two seahs of barley shall sell at the gate of Samaria for a shekel, and a seah of choice flour for a shekel,” (19) the aide answered the man of God and said, “Even if the LORD made windows in the sky, could this come to pass?” And he retorted, “You shall see it with your own eyes, but you shall not eat of it.” (20) That is exactly what happened to him: The people trampled him to death in the gate.

וּ ִֽמ ְכ ְנ ֵסי־ ַב ֮ד ִי ְה ֣יוּ ַﬠל־ ְבּ ָשׂר ֒וֹ וּ ְב ַא ְב ֵ֥נט ַבּ ֙ד burnt offering.— (4) He shall be dressed in ַי ְח֔ ֹגּר וּ ְב ִמ ְצ ֶ ֥נ ֶפת ַ ֖בּד ִי ְצ ֹ֑נף ִבּ ְג ֵדי ֣ ֹ־ק ֶדשׁ ֵ֔הם a sacral linen tunic, with linen breeches next to his flesh, and be girt with a linen (ה) ְו ָר ַ ֥חץ ַבּ ַ ֛מּ ִים ֶאת־ ְבּ ָשׂ֖רוֹ וּ ְל ֵב ָֽשׁם׃ וּ ֵמ ֵ֗את .sash, and he shall wear a linen turban ֲﬠ ַד ֙ת ְבּ ֵ֣ני ִי ְשׂ ָר ֵ֔אל ִי ַ ֛קּח ְשׁ ֵֽני ְ־שׂ ִﬠ ֵ֥ירי ִﬠִ ֖זּים They are sacral vestments; he shall bathe ְל ַח ָ ֑טּאת ְו ַ ֥א ִיל ֶא ָ ֖חד ְל ֹע ָֽלה׃ (ו) ְו ִה ְקִ ֧ריב —.his body in water and then put them on ַא ֲה֛ ֹרן ֶאת־ ַ ֥פּר ַה ַח ָ ֖טּאת ֲא ֶשׁר־ ֑לוֹ ְו ִכ ֶ ֥פּר ַבּ ֲﬠ ֖דוֹ And from the Israelite community he (5) shall take two he-goats for a sin offering (ז) וּ ְב ַ ֥ﬠד ֵבּי ֽתוֹ׃ ְו ָל ַ ֖קח ֶאת ְ־שׁ ֵ֣ני ַה ְשּׂ ִﬠ ִ ֑ירם and a ram for a burnt offering. (6) Aaron is ְו ֶה ֱﬠ ִ ֤מיד ֹא ָת ֙ם ִל ְפ ֵ֣ני ה' ֶ ֖פּ ַתח ֥ ֹא ֶהל מ ֵֽוֹﬠד׃ (ח) to offer his own bull of sin offering, to ְו ָנ ַ ֧תן ַא ֲה֛ ֹרן ַﬠל ְ־שׁ ֵ֥ני ַה ְשּׂ ִﬠ ִ ֖ירם גּ ָוֹר ֑לוֹת גּ ָ ֤וֹרל make expiation for himself and for his ֶא ָח ֙ד ַלה' ְוג ָ ֥וֹרל ֶא ָ ֖חד ַל ֲﬠ ָזא ֵֽזל׃ (ט) ְו ִה ְקִ ֤ריב -household. (7) Aaron shall take the two he goats and let them stand before the LORD ַא ֲה ֹר֙ן ֶאת ַ־ה ָשּׂ ִ֔ﬠיר ֲא ֨ ֶשׁר ָﬠ ָ ֥לה ָﬠ ָ ֛ליו ַהגּ ָ ֖וֹרל (at the entrance of the Tent of Meeting; (8 ַלה' ְו ָﬠ ָ ֖שׂהוּ ַח ָֽטּאת׃ (י) ְו ַה ָשּׂ ִ֗ﬠיר ֲא ֶשׁ ֩ר ָﬠ ֨ ָלה ,and he shall place lots upon the two goats ָﬠ ָ ֤ליו ַהגּ ָוֹר ֙ל ַל ֲﬠ ָזא ֵ֔זל ָֽי ֳﬠ ַמד־ ַ ֛חי ִל ְפ ֵ֥ני ה' one marked for the LORD and the other ְל ַכ ֵ֣פּר ָﬠ ָ ֑ליו ְל ַשׁ ַ ֥לּח ֹא ֛תוֹ ַל ֲﬠ ָזא ֵז֖ל ַה ִמּ ְד ָֽבּ ָרה׃ marked for Azazel. (9) Aaron shall bring forward the goat designated by lot for the (יא) ְו ִה ְק ִ֨ריב ַא ֲה ֹ֜רן ֶאת־ ַ ֤פּר ַֽה ַח ָטּא ֙ת LORD, which he is to offer as a sin ֲא ֶשׁר־ ֔לוֹ ְו ִכ ֶ ֥פּר ַֽבּ ֲﬠ ֖דוֹ וּ ְב ַ ֣ﬠד ֵבּי ֑תוֹ ְו ָשׁ ַ ֛חט offering; (10) while the goat designated by ֶאת־ ַ ֥פּר ַֽה ַח ָ ֖טּאת ֲא ֶשׁר־ ֽלוֹ׃ (יב) ְו ָל ַ ֣קח lot for Azazel shall be left standing alive ְמ ֽלֹא ֠ ַ־ה ַמּ ְח ָתּה ַֽגּ ֲח ֵלי־ ֵ֞אשׁ ֵמ ַ ֤ﬠל ַה ִמּ ְז ֵ֙בּ ַ֙ח ִמ ִלּ ְפ ֵ֣ני before the LORD, to make expiation with it and to send it off to the wilderness for ה' וּ ְמ ֣לֹא ָח ְפ ָ֔ניו ְק ֥ ֹט ֶרת ַס ִ ֖מּים ַדּ ָ ֑קּה ְו ֵה ִ ֖ביא Azazel. (11) Aaron shall then offer his bull ִמ ֵ֥בּית ַל ָפּֽ ֹר ֶכת׃ (יג) ְו ָנ ַ ֧תן ֶֽאת ַ־ה ְקּ ֛ ֹט ֶרת of sin offering, to make expiation for ַﬠל ָ־ה ֵ֖אשׁ ִל ְפ ֵ֣ני ה' ְו ִכ ָ ֣סּה ׀ ֲﬠ ַ ֣נ ן ַה ְקּ ֹ֗ט ֶרת himself and his household. He shall slaughter his bull of sin offering, (12) and ֶאת ַ־ה ַכּ ֹ֛פּ ֶרת ֲא ֶ ֥שׁר ַﬠל ָ־ה ֵﬠ ֖דוּת ְו ֥לֹא ָי ֽמוּת׃ he shall take a panful of glowing coals (יד) ְו ָל ַק ֙ח ִמ ַ ֣דּם ַה ָ֔פּר ְו ִה ָ ֧זּה ְב ֶא ְצ ָבּ ֛ﬠוֹ ַﬠל־ ְפּ ֵ֥ני ,scooped from the altar before the LORD ַה ַכּ ֹ֖פּ ֶרת ֵ֑ק ְד ָמה ְו ִל ְפ ֵ֣ני ַה ַכּ ֹ֗פּ ֶרת ַי ֶ ֧זּה and two handfuls of finely ground ֶֽשׁ ַבע־ ְפּ ָﬠ ִ ֛מים ִמן ַ־ה ָ ֖דּם ְבּ ֶא ְצ ָבּ ֽﬠוֹ׃ (טו) ְו ָשׁ ַ֞חט aromatic incense, and bring this behind the curtain. (13) He shall put the incense on the ֶאת ְ־שׂ ִ ֤ﬠיר ַֽה ַח ָטּא ֙ת ֲא ֶ ֣שׁר ָל ָ֔ﬠם ְו ֵה ִבי ֙א fire before the LORD, so that the cloud ֶאת־ ָדּ ֔מוֹ ֶאל־ ִמ ֵ֖בּית ַל ָפּ֑ ֹר ֶכת ְו ָﬠ ָ ֣שׂה ֶאת־ ָדּ ֗מוֹ from the incense screens the cover that is ַכּ ֲא ֶ ֤שׁר ָﬠ ָשׂ ֙ה ְל ַ ֣דם ַה ָ֔פּר ְו ִה ָ ֥זּה ֹא ֛תוֹ (over [the Ark of] the Pact, lest he die. (14 ַﬠל ַ־ה ַכּ ֹ֖פּ ֶרת ְו ִל ְפ ֵ֥ני ַה ַכּ ֹֽפּ ֶרת׃ (טז) ְו ִכ ֶ ֣פּר He shall take some of the blood of the bull and sprinkle it with his finger over the ַﬠל ַ־ה ֹ֗קּ ֶדשׁ ִמ ֻטּ ְמ ֹא ֙ת ְבּ ֵ֣ני ִי ְשׂ ָר ֵ֔אל וּ ִמ ִפּ ְשׁ ֵﬠ ֶ ֖יהם cover on the east side; and in front of the ְל ָכל־ ַחטֹּא ָ ֑תם ְו ֵ֤כן ַי ֲﬠ ֶשׂ ֙ה ְל ֣ ֹא ֶהל מ ֵ֔וֹﬠד ַה ֹשּׁ ֵ֣כן cover he shall sprinkle some of the blood ִא ָ֔תּם ְבּ ֖תוֹ ֻט ְמ ֹא ָֽתם׃ (יז) ְו ָכל־ ָא ָ֞דם with his finger seven times. (15) He shall לֹא־ ִי ְה ֶי֣ה ׀ ְבּ ֣ ֹא ֶהל מ ֵ֗וֹﬠד ְבּ ֹב ֛אוֹ ְל ַכ ֵ֥פּר ַבּ ֖ ֹקּ ֶדשׁ then slaughter the people’s goat of sin offering, bring its blood behind the curtain, ַﬠד־ ֵצא ֑תוֹ ְו ִכ ֶ ֤פּר ַבּ ֲﬠד ֙וֹ וּ ְב ַ ֣ﬠד ֵבּי ֔תוֹ וּ ְב ַ ֖ﬠד and do with its blood as he has done with ָכּל ְ־ק ַ ֥הל ִי ְשׂ ָר ֵֽאל׃ the blood of the bull: he shall sprinkle it over the cover and in front of the cover. (16) Thus he shall purge the Shrine of the uncleanness and transgression of the Israelites, whatever their sins; and he shall
