This session will deal with reading, counting, and technique issues and the teaching techniques used with students with special needs. Video clips will illustrate teaching examples, and questions and answers are encouraged from audience members.

This lecture will feature steps that musicians should take to prepare for performances, auditions, competitions, and juries. The videos presented were recorded during lessons while a student is learning and memorizing parts of a score. The exercises used during the videos go beyond the traditional learning of notes and rhythms, giving the student a clear picture of the score and securing a great memory.

During the last decades, duo pianism increasingly gained popularity in the world of classical music. Professional pianists embarked on full‐fledged careers as piano duos, and even young students have been encouraged to explore this medium. This increased popularity however presented the current pianists and piano teacher with an unusual challenge: lack of duo piano repertoire, especially when compared to the multitude of solo pieces available. This presentation aims to introduce new works specifically written for the piano four hand medium: original arrangements of Argentinean tangos.
