Vice President Dean of Students/Title IX Coordinator, March 2015 – January 2019 • Provided vision and direction to the division of student life which includes the following departments: Housing & Residence Life, Bon Appetite (food service provider), Student Rights & Responsibilities, Student Engagement, Office of Equity & Inclusion, Student Health Center, Counseling Center, Weingart Center for Career & Professional Development, New Student Orientation, Veteran Services, and Title IX. • Led and coach six professional staff members, nineteen indirect reports and one support staff member. • Co-chaired with the Vice President of Academic Affairs the Student Success Taskforce consisting of members from across the campus to create and monitor initiatives to assist students to persist and complete their education. • Provided direction for the Poet Early Alert Program (Student Care Team) and the Economic Crises Committee. • Served as the Title IX Coordinator to insure compliance with state and federal regulations. • Worked with outside legal counsel in the development and implementation of the code of conduct and sexual misconduct policy. • Oversaw divisional budget totaling more than four million dollars.

Selected Accomplishments • Led efforts to create a more structured student employment program. • Convened data analytics group to identify predictors that lead students to withdrawal to create strategies to curb attrition. • Responsible for the creation and implementation of the student emergency fund. • Led efforts in the creation of campus wide Inclusion and Diversity committee. • Advised College Board of Trustees on the decision to create the Poet Student Sanctuary Protection Policy.

Seattle Pacific University, Seattle, WA Dean of Students for Community Life, August 2013 – March 2015 • Provided leadership to the Office of Community Life and its three departments: Residence Life, Student Programs (student activities, new student orientation, student government, and commuter programs), and Multi-Ethnic Programs; Directly supervise 3 directors, one support staff member, and oversee a unit of 13 professional staff, one support staff, and several paraprofessional staff members. • Spearhead efforts by the Student Support Team consisting of the following departments: Residence Life, Multi-Ethnic Programs, Student Programs, Center for Career and Calling, Health Center, Student Counseling Center, and the Center for Learning. This group serves as a resource to students of concern to assist them in their endeavor to be thriving students. • Led efforts in collaboration with University counsel and human resources to develop and implement sexual misconduct policy. • Oversaw and managed the student conduct system in collaboration with the Office of Residence Life (residential students) and Student Programs (commuter students).

Selected Accomplishments • Initiated the redesign of the leadership minor in collaboration with the Department of Industrial Organizational Psychology. • Selected to be part of the institution’s efforts to ensure Title IX compliance in collaboration with University counsel and the Director of Human Resources.

George Fox University, Newberg, OR Dean of Inclusion & Student Leadership Programs/Chief Diversity Officer, May 2012 – July 2013 • Provided direction and leadership to the office of Inclusion and Student Leadership Programs. • Oversaw student leadership scholarship programs (Act Six, Millers, Presidential, and Multicultural). • Advised student government. • Co-taught leadership courses along with the faculty in the school of business. • Continued with duties as outlined in the Dean of Transitions and Inclusion description, minus overseeing the First Year Experience and International Student Services programs.

Selected Accomplishments • Selected to led efforts to redesign student leadership development programs. • Spearheaded the creation of initiatives to strengthen relationships with the Latino community to assist the institution in increasing enrollment of Latino students. • Led and coordinated efforts at the institution to increase the ethnic diversity of faculty and students. Enrollment of students of color from 12% in the fall of 2006 to 18.5% in the fall of 2012 for a growth rate of over 50%. The hiring of faculty of color went from 6% in the fall of 2009 to 11.1% in the fall of 2102 a growth rate of over 75%. During this same time period the first to second year retention rate of students of color has increased by 10%.

Dean of Transitions and Inclusion, July 2008 – April 2012 • Spearheaded the redesign of the Blueprint for Diversity (strategic plan for diversity) that received trustee approval in the spring of 2010. • Advised the college president on diversity matters, which included co-chairing the president’s external advisory task force on diversity on how to best present our efforts to external agencies. • Provided direction and leadership to the International Student Services Office, Multicultural Student Programs, and Orientation, including supervising 3 professional staff members. • Hired and trained 22 First Year Seminar instructors consisting of university faculty and staff. • Chaired institutional diversity committee and led campus-wide efforts to become more inclusive, including working with the university president on diversity efforts. • Collaborated with the Provost and Deans’ Council in efforts to recruit and retain underrepresented faculty, staff, and administrators. • Planed, coordinated and led sessions that fulfill the university’s mandatory diversity education for faculty, staff, and administrators. • Continued with duties as outlined in the Director of Student Transitions.

Selected Accomplishments • Given the responsibility of being the spokesperson to media during the fallout of a race based bias incident in the fall of 2008. • Reinstated the institution’s common book program to provide a common academic experience for new students. • Initiated the implementation of the annual faculty learning community on diversity. • Initiated curriculum to train residence life student staff using Intercultural Conflict Styles Inventory.
