2011-12 (Sophomore): Torres earned four individual All- America honors in the 100 and 200-yard backstroke and 200 and 400-yard individual medley events. He set the school record in the 100 backstroke in the NCAA preliminaries with a time of 48.34 and then broke the record a second time in the finals with a time of 48.50 to take fourth place. He took fourth place in the 200 backstroke and sixth place in both IM events. He swam the lead leg of the NCAA third place 200-yard medley relay team to earn a fifth First Team All-America citation. At the RMAC Championships he won the 200 backstroke to earn first team honors and he was third team in the 200 IM. He swam the opening leg on the 200 and 400-yard medley re- lay teams that both took second in the conference. He was named to the LSC Commissioner’s Honor Roll.

Previous: Torres swam one year at Lake Erie College. He hit the “B” cut time in the 200 and 400-yard individual medley and 200-yard backstroke.

High School: Torres swam at COBACH 3 in Mexico. He was the 2009 Mexican Nationals sub-champion in the 200-yard individual medley and 50-yard backstroke for the 17-18 age group. He also played soccer and basketball.
