In 1876, George Holloway bought Tyntynder Homestead from the Beveridges for £34,020 and for over 120 years remained with the family. The rooms of the Homestead, which has been classified by the National Trust as being ‘notable and worthy of preservation' are still furnished according to the traditional squat- ting era, with original photos and costumes worn by the Holloway women on display. A gun collection, which was surrendered to the police has now been returned and is also on display. Recently the Homestead and 100 acres remaining of the original pre-emptive right has been sold by the Holloways and was bought by members of the Wadi Wadi tribe.

This historical home is still open to the public at any time, by appointment. Mrs Glennis Pitts, the caretaker, can be contacted by phone on (03) 5030 2754.
