Taylor Schaubert and Torie Danielson have decided to put their name on the ballot. Taylor Schaubert is from Bis- marck North Dakota and is a junior at UND studying politi- cal science and economics. He is involved with Student Gov- ernment, currently serving as chief of staff and is a member of Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity Schaubert had the idea to run earlier this year. He saw the ways he was able to really place his passion towards this uni- versity on the senate executive team. “Serving as Erik’s chief of staff was a great experience for me, I got to work hand-in-hand with a lot of the vice presidents on campus and build good re- lationships with the faculty,” Schaubert said. “I also got to work on the student involve- ment projects on a smaller lev- el and really see what the orga- nizations needed and wanted here on campus. The coulee has been a prob- lem for many community mem- bers who wish to improve its aesthetic and aromatic qualities. Limited water flow and hu- man pollution from have con- tributed to the coulee’s current state. After many discussions over the years, action is being taken. Ralston said the project “is all about getting together groups of people that actually understand what can be done and what we should do to improve the health and quality of the coulee.” Part of improving the health meant cutting back some of the cattails that surround the bank.
