13 Salvino Strength Center The SMU strength and conditioning staff, led by head strength & conditioning coach Chuck Faucette, train Mustang student-athletes in the Vic and Gladie Jo Sal- vino Strength & Conditioning Center - a state-of-the-art, 10,000-square-foot weight room featuring Olympic free weight machines and cardiovascular equipment inside the Paul B. Loyd, Jr. All-Sports Center. The Salvino Strength and Conditioning Center opened in August of 2000 and is considered one of the fi nest of its kind in the nation.

"At Southern Methodist University, the empha- sis of our strength and conditioning program is on speed, quickness and explosive power. We accomplish this with a program comprised of Olympic lifts, various plyometric drills and sport specifi c exercises. We want to do things in the weight room that will transfer over to the tennis courts. Not only do we develop your strength and conditioning but your mental toughness as well. At this level, everyone is going to be quick, fast and strong. Mental toughness is what will separate SMU players from the pack and allow you to be successful."

Chuck Faucette Head Strength & Conditioning Coach SMU
