2021 Team Sask Canada Games Coaches – Indoor and Beach

Sask is a non-profit Provincial Sport Governing Body whose purpose is to develop and promote the sport of volleyball across . The organization offers programs and services designed for a variety of ages and abilities, involving both grassroots and competitive, indoor and beach volleyball.

Sask Volleyball is seeking to hire Coaches for the 2021 Canada Summer Games on a two-year contract basis. The positions will report to the High-Performance Manager and the Technical Director. The following positions are available:

Team Sask Men’s Indoor (18U) Head Coach Team Sask Men’s Indoor (18U) Assistant Coach Team Sask Men’s Beach (20U) Head Coach

Team Sask Women’s Indoor (18U) Head Coach Team Sask Women’s Indoor (18U) Assistant Coach Team Sask Women’s Beach (20U) Head Coach

Critical Behaviors • Superior oral and written communication skills. • Exceptional organization skills. • Advanced degree of technical & tactical knowledge in the sport of volleyball. • Prioritize tasks and manage schedules. • Work independently or in collaboration with a group.

Responsibilities – Including but not limited to: • Assist Sask Volleyball with athlete ID and selection. • Supervise athletes at training and competition. • Create an integrated High-Performance training plan. • Lead a Nationally competitive program. • Oversee team administrative duties.

Qualifications • NCCP Performance Coach Certification (Old Level 3). Candidates working towards certification will be considered but must be completed by March 2021. • Previous High-Performance coaching experience.

• Possess a valid driver’s license, a reliable vehicle, and a willingness to travel within the province (Travel Policy applicable). • Successful completion of a Police Records check before commencing employment.

Assets • High-performance playing experience. • Degree in Kinesiology, Education or related field. • Familiar with the Long-term Athlete Development model of physical literacy.

Remuneration • Honorarium and professional development.

Program Timelines • Start and End Dates: o 2020 – Winter/Spring ID Camps o 2020 – May Final Selection Camp, June-July Training/Competition o 2020/21 – Fall/Winter/Spring Training and Identification o 2021 – May Final Selection Camp, June – August Training/Competition

Canada Games Coaching Clause:

Please note that Sask Sport high-performance grants require Sask Volleyball high-performance staff to be assigned to a coaching position. Based on the candidates’ experience, Sask Volleyball high-performance staff, along with the hiring committee, will determine the most suitable coaching roles for the male and female teams. Four of the six positions will remain open for Sask Volleyball members, in good standing, to apply.
