This is aorded to us by the Indian professional golf tour which runs through the year. It gives us the highest level of competition nationally and the earnings to go with it, that advance our professional careers. Most importantly it keeps us in our prime and helps us remain focused and t. The Indian professional golf tour has nurtured us all and helped us hone our skills before moving on to the upper echelons of world golf. Participate in The ongoing pandemic has disrupted our professional lives, as the supporting national pro golf tour, which provides a livelihood to most of us, professional has been put on hold till 2021. While a section of us are nancially golf stable, there are many of us who are struggling to make ends meet in these challenging times. It is to aid such tour dependent professionals that we have come together and planned the Series covering the 4 geographic zones of the country. We will commence with the rst tournament of The Ultimate National Pro Invitational Series - 2020 with the North Zone, scheduled at the Classic Golf & Country Club on July 10, 2020. The purse allocated from the funds raised will be distributed to the participating pro golfers as prize money in a similar manner as is done on the professional golf tour. Series #1 will conclude after covering all zones, and the success, we believe will lead to holding Series #2. Gathering support of the larger community All golfers are dedicated to the sport in a manner distinct from all other sports. And we believe that people are raring to support the resurgence of golf at the apex level in India. Please participate and contribute in supporting these tour dependent professionals to tide over these challenging times. To energise, activate and engage junior, ladies and gentlemen golfers in our plan, we have curated special competitive amateur tournaments for each of the 3 categories to be held in each zone and to precede the pro tournament in that zone. The proceeds from these amateur tournaments will go towards the fund that we have created for our comrades. The $250,000 Louis Philippe Cup is slated to be India’s richest domestic tournament. To be played between eight city-based teams of India’s top professional golfers, the tournament will be held in Bangalore at the KGA Golf Course between 5th to 10th March 2012. MARCH 2017 Issue No. 91 Tee off with the Captain Dear Members, I would like to thank all members for their overwhelming support which made it possible for me to serve as the Club Captain. It is my endeavour to improve the playing conditions on both the Lodhi and Peacock Courses through the year, by incorporating better maintenance practices. In order to achieve these high standards, we will be preparing a detailed Master Plan incorporating immediate, medium and long term objectives. Our immediate focus, after assuming office in October 2016, was the onerous task to prepare the golf course for the Panasonic Open, an Asian Tour event. Accordingly, a maintenance schedule was put in place to arrest the problem on the greens, and they started showing signs of recovery. Sodding of contaminated patches that had spread over the past many years, was undertaken on a war footing by using Tifdwarf grass from the nursery. The nursery is now being redeveloped to plant pure Tifdwarf grass and for modern grasses to be used in the future.
