With 50 million copies sold, is the second best-selling album of all time just behind Michael Jackson’s thriller. Who could have imagined that AC/DC’s seventh studio album would pick up so many awards considering their charismatic lead-singer Bon Scott’s premature death after the release of Highway to Hell. The album marked the end of their first chapter but the beginning of their second which fans of the Australian band today continue to relish… Forty years after its release, David Byrne and his band’s album “Remain in Light” has held on to all of its mad and funky allure. The album’s merging of intellectual post-punk with cosmopolitan dance music influenced groups such as LCD Soundsystem, Vampire Weekend and Arcade Fire. On this fourth album produced by Brian Eno, the Talking Heads revolutionized their sound, but also that of rock itself. Pink Floyd's ground-breaking album The Dark Side of the Moon was the result of a long creative process that began around 1968. A Saucerful of Secrets (the main track from the eponymous album) was, for Nick Mason at least, where it all began. Their next album Ummagumma (1969) gave each band member the opportunity to create a solo piece, though they would have to combine their talents if they wanted to hit the jackpot. Pink Floyd continued to search for the perfect record with Meddle, an album which highlighted their skills in the studio, and Atom Heart Mother, before they reached nirvana with The Dark Side of the Moon. And the album’s perfection hasn’t faded one bit. Higher Voltage Another Brief History of Rock album download. Add to Collection Eye. Add to Wantlist. Marketplace. Statistics. Rolling Stone (Positive) [3] Contents. Overview [ ] Prior to the release of the international version of High Voltage , AC/DC had already released their debut album under the name High Voltage a year before in Australia only, which had a different track listing. The international release only included two tracks from the original Australian release, with the rest of its songs being pulled from AC/DC's second Australian album T.N.T. . [5] The international release of High Voltage also had a different album cover than the original, featuring a picture of Angus Young as he appeared on the cover of the Australian single for "It's a Long Way to the Top (If You Wanna Rock 'n' Roll)". An alternative cover was used on the international version's original European release. Most editions of the international album have a version of "It's A Long Way To The Top" that is shorter than the version on the original Australian release. The full length version is 5:10, while the edited version fades out early at 5:01. Vinyl editions of the international album contain the edited version. The 1994 remastered CD on replaced the edited version of the track with the full length version. The 2003 remastered CD on Epic Records reverted it back to the edited version. The original version of the song "High Voltage" featured on the Australian T.N.T. album was longer and finished with a sustained guitar note followed by a single hit of the snare drum. The version on the international "High Voltage" album has the song fade out before the sustained note. In popular culture [ ] Randy Couture used the song "Live Wire" as his entrance song at UFC 102. The cover was shown in an episode of The Cosby Show during the first season. Track listing [ ] "It's a Long Way to the Top (If You Wanna Rock 'n' Roll)" (edited version) – 5:01 "Rock 'n' Roll Singer" – 5:04 "The Jack" – 5:52 "Live Wire" – 5:50 "T.N.T." – 3:34 "Can I Sit Next to You Girl" – 4:12 "Little Lover" – 5:37 "She's Got Balls" – 4:51 "High Voltage" (edited version) – 4:03. All titles written by Young, Young, and Scott except "Can I Sit Next to You Girl" written by Young & Young. Published by J. Albert & Son Pty Ltd. Tracks 7 & 8 were previously released on the band's first Australian studio album High Voltage in Feb. 1975.
