FAQs 1. When will the new deadline be announced? a. We anticipate that we will announce the new deadlines by the end of June. Applications will then be due at least a month after the announcement. 2. What happens if the new deadline is also postponed? a. We are carefully selecting a new deadline to ensure no further postponements. However, due to the uncertainty of the situation, we want to make sure our grant recipients can conduct their work in a safe and healthy manner in compliance with local regulations. 3. How does this impact current grants? a. This deadline change does not affect current grants. We understand that many grant projects are being affected by the global disruptions from COVID- 19, and if you need to make changes to your project in light of these disruptions, please be in touch with your program officer or write to [email protected]. Please also respond to the survey sent to current grantees on April 15, which will help inform how we can support our community. 4. Does this deadline change apply to all RFPs listed on the website? a. RFPs that had upcoming deadlines will have a new deadline that will be announced by the end of June. 5. If I already submitted a grant proposal, do I need to submit one again? a. If your application was submitted after January 15, 2020, it is now reopened in the portal. We ask that you make all necessary edits and updates, and re- submit in advance of the next deadline, when announced (the deadline will be announced no later than June 30, 2020). b. If you submitted an application before January 15, 2020, your application is already in review, and you will receive further information as scheduled in late May. 6. What if I’ve already submitted a grant proposal and want to change or retract it? a. If your application was submitted after, it is now reopened in the portal. We ask that you make all necessary edits and updates, and re-submit in advance of the next deadline, when announced (the deadline will be announced no later than June 30, 2020). b. If you submitted an application before January 15, 2020, please contact your Program Officer or [email protected] to make changes. 7. Will there be more money allocated to grants now that the applicant pool may be larger? a. As always, we seek to fund bold, innovative, and transformative people and projects from around the world that will help us achieve our mission. When reviewing incoming applications, we will continue to make the best decisions for our mission and grantees. 8.
