BRIEF SUMMARY OF THE PROJECT

Tvl.Srinivasa & Co, represented by one of its partner, M.S.Srinivasa, S.Madhahalli village, Pitrakope, Bengaluru has been participated and obtained tender by the Government of for a lease of lands in the Tender-cum-auction in District for the purposes of quarrying Rough Stone from the area located in S.F.No.886 & 887(P) over an extent of 3.50.0 Hectares, Achettipalli Village, Taluk of , TamilNadu State for a period of 10 Years.

The District collector Krishnagiri has directed the applicant Tvl.Srinivasa & Co vide his proceedings letter Rc.No.219/2019/Mines, Dated 13.06.2019 to get approved mining plan and obtain Environmental clearance from the Environment Impact Assessment Authority (SEIAA) as per the EIA Notification, 2006 and its amendments for grant of quarrying rough Stone quarry lease in S.F.No–886 & 887(P) over an extent of 3.50.0 Hectares, Achettipalli Village, Hosur Taluk of Krishnagiri District, Tamil Nadu for a period of 10years.

The mining plan is prepared as per the District Collector’s proceedings letter, Rc.No.219/2019/Mines Dated 13.06.2019 under Rule 41& 42 of Tamil Nadu Minor Minerals Concession Rules, 1959 for quarrying Rough Stone with due consideration of environmental parameters so as to obtain Environmental clearance (EC) from EIA Authority (DEIAA/SEIAA), as per the EIA Notification, 2006 and its amendments. The project cost is about Rs.1, 57, 50,000 and EMP cost is Rs. 4.0 lakhs.

In this project, the total area of Cluster with in 500m radius from the periphery of this quarry is reported as 12.71.0 Ha with 4 No of quarries. In such cluster situation a common Environment Impact Assessment (EIA) and Environmental Management Plan (EMP) for the entire cluster of quarries is enough to capture all the possible externalities. The common EIA/EMP data can be used for all quarries fall under this cluster. These reports shall capture carrying capacity of the cluster, transportation and related issues, replenishment and recharge issues, geo-hydrological study of the cluster area. The quarry lease falls under B2 cluster Category in view of Cluster with in 500m radius, the total area is more than 5 Ha and less than 25 Ha. Hence Terms of Reference is applicable.

Open cast, semi-mechanized mining will be adopted to extract rough stones of required size from the area for which lease applied for. Before opening a mine, several aspects should be considered like construction of semi-permanent

structures, planning for the development / production works, formation of faces, lying of approach road to various benches for movement of dumpers, recruitment of man power, deployment of machinery, selection of dump sites, stacking yards etc. Top soil, weathered materials shall be removed prior to development of working benches. Geological resources and Mineable reserves: Geological resources of rough stone are estimated as 632936m3 mineable reserves are estimated as 543838m3 up to 37m bgl or 56m from the highest elevation.

Production Schedule: Production of rough stone per annum shall be 80410m3. Rejects of mining about 21161m3 shall be used for road formation.
