The skills and techniques taught will consist of the foundational, theoretical, practical, contextual, and creative. The apprentice will perform in a variety of Traditional Arts events for the larger South Asian community in Apprenticeship Hans Utter Franklin Columbus $2,731 Ohio. The master will undertake an apprenticeship in North Indian classical vocal music with apprentice Neha Shah for the second time. The master will focus on the aesthetics of genres already covered and the embellishments for thumri, the expression of song texts, and more complex improvisations and ragas. The master will undertake an apprenticeship in Mexican folkloric dance and culture with apprentice Vanessa Hernandez. This is the second apprenticeship between the master and apprentice, and they will work together for 10 hours weekly, focusing on Mexican folkloric dance traditions, practice, and education. During the apprenticeship, they will focus on the dance and cultural history of two regions of Mexico: Chiapas and Colima. The master will also instruct the apprentice in teaching skills needed to lead further generations in this tradition.
