Cases which are pending for 29.05.2017 will be taken up on 30.05.2017. Similarly, 23.11.2017 (Thursday) has been declared as holiday in this Hon’ble High Court on account of Martyrdom Day of Sri Guru Teg Bahadur Ji instead of 24.11.2017 (Friday) and 24.11.2017 already declared holiday will now be observed as working day in this Hon’ble High Court. By order of Hon’ble the Chief Justice Sd/- Registrar Judicial 26.10.2016 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- NOTICE Minutes of the meeting dated 13.5.2016 of Hon'ble Committee regarding Constitution of Commercial Division and Commercial Appellate Division for Punjab and Haryana High Court under the Commercial Courts, Commercial Division and Commercial Appellate Division of High Courts Act, 2015, (No.4 of 2016). x x x x x x "We are informed that notifications for constitution of Commercial Courts in the States of Punjab, Haryana and Union Territory, Chandigarh have been issued by the respective State Governments. Copy of the minutes framed by Hon’ble the Rule Committee has been produced. The Hon’ble Committee has framed the Rules regarding the procedure for filing and conducting the commercial disputes in this Court in the Meeting dated 06.05.2016, which have been approved/seen by Hon’ble the Chief Justice vide orders dated 10.05.2016. The Hon’ble Committee has also approved the nomenclature of various categories of cases to be filed before the Commercial Division and Commercial Appellate Division. NIC is directed to create categories of such cases and develop a software programme in this regard. It is recommended that Commercial Division consisting of a Single Judge may be constituted to exercise the jurisdiction and powers conferred on it in terms of Section 4 of the Act. It is also recommended that Commercial Appellate Division consisting of a Division Bench may be constituted to exercise the jurisdiction and powers conferred on it in terms of Section 5 of the Act. xxxxxxxxxx The registry has sorted out cases of various categories and has given the figures that as many as 59 civil writ petitions relating to banks/financial institutions matters, 22 writ petitions relating to tender matters, one civil original petition pertaining to Patent Act, 34 civil writ petitions relating to PUDA/HUDA/GMADA matters, involving amount of rupees one crore and above are pending in this Court. These matters may fall under the definition of Commercial disputes and be listed before the Commercial Division (Single Bench) after verifying the facts of the cases." The cases relating to "Crime Against Children, differently abled persons, senior citizens and marginalized sections of Society" will be given priority. The Members of the Bar are requested to provide the information regarding the cases relating to the aforesaid categories which have already been filed by them so that data in the computer can be updated for monitoring of these cases.
