from ROMÉO ET JULIETTE, by Charles Gounod

JE VEUX VIVRE

I want to live in this dream that intoxicates me This day still, Sweet flame, I keep you in my soul Like a treasure!

This intoxication of youth Lasts, alas, only for one day! Then comes the hour When one weeps. The heart surrenders to love And the happiness flies Far from the morose winter Let me, let me slumber The heart surrenders to love And the happiness flies without returning.

Far from a morose winter, Let me slumber And breathe in the rose Before it dies.

from SUCH A THING AGAIN, by Jodi Goble Texts by Melanie Faith (This Passing Fever)
