new Waveney Local Plan Summary of Responses to Sites August 2016 Introduction This document provides a summary of the responses received to each site consulted upon as apart of the consultation on the ‘Options for the new Waveney Local Plan’. The consultation marked the first stage of consultation on the new Local Plan and invited comments from statutory local plan consultees, Parish and Town Councils, other local and national organisations with an interest in planning and development, local and national landowners and developers and Members of the Public. The consultation took place between 22nd April and the 17th June 2016. In total 523 individuals and organisations responded to the consultation. Between them they made 3,428 comments. 2,205 of these comments were made on the questions in consultation document. The other 1,217 comments were made on the potential sites for development which were also part of the consultation. A summary of the responses to the questions can be found in Part 1 of this document. The consultation also invited landowner, developers and others to suggest additional sites with potential for development during the plan period. The sites received are shown in Appendix 4. These sites will be assessed alongside those sites already consulted on and any additional sites that the Council identify as having the potential for development. These additional sites will be consulted on as part of the consultation on the First Draft Plan in Spring 2017. The driver was found in possession of cannabis and faces a charge for driving under the influence of drugs. Responding to issues in your community SNT meet regularly with youth workers monitoring the use of the teen shelter in Halesworth since it's reinstatement. There was an issue in the past week with litter having been removed from a refuse bin & strewn over the ground. The offender is unknown, but it was tidied up & put back into the bin by the teenagers using the shelter as they were as dismayed at the behaviour as others. Future events Making the community safer Admiral Nurses and the Sole Bay The SNT have been contacted this month by parishes in the Health Centre will be launching area interested in starting a Community Speed Watch Scheme. 'Dementia Neighbours' in Southwold town centre on the 1st of Nov. to CSWs are volunteers who wish to make their community safer highlight how local people can help by deterring excess vehicle speed. For details of how to go those they come across suffering about starting a CSW, see the Suffolk Constabulary website at with dementia. It will happen outside https://www.suffolk.police.uk/services/watch-schemes the former Lloyds bank. Admiral Nurses provide the specialist dementia support that families need. Preventing, reducing and solving crime and ASB Their nurses work alongside people with dementia, and their families: With Christmas just around the corner, many will be making giving them support, expert larger than normal purchases on their debit and/or credit guidance and practical solutions.

    1 SOUTH ELMHAM AD DISTRICT LOCAL HISTORY GROUP EWSLETTER Issue o. 26 January 2010 ABBEY FARM ST. JAMES DURING RESTORATION IN 2010 2 Chairman’s notes. Winter is upon us much earlier this year, but will it give me more time to sit indoors researching family history? No, there is much to do on the farm, mainly coppicing some hedgerows which are well over grown. As many of you know the fields of Hulver Farm are the same now as they were marked on the Tithe Map, eighteen or so on this one hundred acre farm, most of them are surrounded by a hedgerow of some sort. The wood we get from the coppicing goes to heat the house, which in theory provides us with a never ending supply if we keep up the management. The hedge we are cutting now was last done twenty five years ago, so there will be some decent sized ash and hornbeam for us to burn in three years time after it has seasoned. There is some elm that has died from Dutch elm disease which is already seasoned for us to burn now. This means of course that as the rotation is perhaps three cuts in a lifetime one wonders how many lifetimes have passed since the ditches and hedges were created. Before the advent of mechanised farming, when labour was abundant, hedges were managed better than today. Farm workers would, “take a hedge”, that is to ask his employer if he could cut a hedge on the farm over the winter, taking the decent wood for the fire and making faggots of the non thorny material for kindling or pea and bean sticks, and in the process manage it for the farmer.

Mrs Andrea Carr (Parish Clerk) Cllr Ellis announced that the meeting is recorded by the Council only for the purposes of accuracy of the minutes of the meeting. Once the minutes are agreed the recording is destroyed. She asked that no covert recording take place among the members of the public, either audio or video. It is permissible but must be declared before the meeting commences. The members of the public were advised that anyone wishing to speak will have their name recorded in the minutes and these will be available on public display on the Parish Council website. The public were advised that on entering the meeting they recorded their name, any declaration of interest and whether they wish to speak. This has been done to validate the voting figures. If anyone wishes to speak that hasn’t declared this, they may have an opportunity at the end if there is time. Cllr Ellis informed those present of the structure of the meeting. The Connecting Bus Between 0930 and 1600 on Thursdays, the Connecting Bus covers the following parishes: Bungay, Flixton, Halesworth, The Saints, Rumbergh, Ilketshall St Margaret and Wissett. Between 0930 and 1600 on Fridays and Saturdays, the Connecting Bus covers the following parishes: Barsham, Beccles, Brampton with Stoven, Bungay, Halesworth, Holton, Ilketshall St Andrew, Ilketshall St John, Ilketshall St Lawrence, Mettingham, Redisham, Ringsfield, Shadingfield, Shipmeadow, Sotherton, Spexhall, Westhall, Weston, and Wissett. The Connecting Bus allows people to request any journey within the area above and anyone can use the service. Pick up is from a safe location near your home: a bus stop or the end of your road. Fares are similar to those on buses, under 20s have reduced fares and concessionary passes are valid after 0930. Door to door (formerly called Dial a Ride) Between 0930 and 1600 on Mondays, the door to door service enables eligible registered members to request transport from their home to their final destination for journeys within the parishes of Bungay, Flixton, Halesworth, The Saints, Rumbergh, Ilketshall St Margaret, Spexhall and Wissett. Fares are reasonable but concessionary passes cannot be used. Community car service The car service operates up to seven days a week, depending on the availability of volunteer drivers who use their own vehicles. Anyone may ask to use the service to make journeys for which neither a car, nor public transport, is available. The fare is based on the distance travelled. The distance is from between the driver’s home to the place where you are picked up and on to your destination and back to the driver’s home.
