MoHa! “Raus Aus

Anders Hana – guitar Morten J. Olsen – drums/electronics

MoHa! is the latest signing to Rune Grammofon; a young Norwegian duo consisting of guitarist (23) and drummer Morten J. Olsen (24). Having played together in different constellations for 6 years, their forthcoming album "Raus Aus Stavanger", to be released in January 2006, will be their first proper release as a duo. The album is an analogue recording from Athletic Sound, a studio in Halden, and home of excellent Rune Grammofon recordings.

MoHa! has released three underground sought after CDR’s: “Det e jo rock, for faen” (“It’s rock, goddamn it”) “Rock; meg i rauå” (“Rock; my ass”) and “Siste del i trilogien med rock i tittelen” (“Last part of the trilogy with rock in the title”).

“You’ll find electric noise, percussion-driven improvisation mixed with metallic, almost ambientlike sections. MoHa! is partly rock-oriented and their approach has something somewhat No Waveish to it; the starting point is a carte blanche attacked by a punk attitude based on improvisation, loads of energy and original thoughts on instrument treatment.” – Carl Kristian Johansen about “Rock; meg i rauå”.

MoHa! was considered one of the highlights at this years Safe-as-milk- and Numusic festivals: “the crowd was beaten about head and neck by furious, combustible drumming from Olsen, using the most together and successful laptop processing of drums I have ever witnessed.” (…) “If I was in my home town now I would leave, go home and put all my guitar equipment on eBay” – Mark Francombe, Furthernoise about MoHa! at Safe as Milk

“Despite the fact that MoHa! resides far from any established musical category, there’s underlying something coherent and purposeful.”

In connection to the release of the new album a tour is set up in January 2006 with the following route: Kristiansand, Stavanger, , Rostock, Berlin, Köln, Paris, Hasselt, Brussels, Amsterdam. Thereafter a tour of Great Britain in February as well as the Sonic Acts festival in Amsterdam.

Hana and Olsen has played together since 1999, in duo or in collaboration with Andrew D’Angelo/Morthana, Ultralyd, Trio, Phô, John Hegre, Ingebrigt H. Flaten, , Pål Jackman, and the N-ensemble. In addition, apart they’ve had a finger in the pie concerning a.o Noxagt, Thomas Dybdahl & TGOS, , M/N/O/G and Office-R(6). Both do solo-concerts and brag about having played with greats as Paal Nilssen-Love, Steve Lacy, Axel Dörner, , Lasse Marhaug, Fred Frith, Trevor Dunn and Arve Henriksen Download image large file: http://n-collective.com/files/mohahi.jpg
