I mean every person who walks on the court has a chance of winning. We were just taking it one day at a time, we just went for it, and we enjoyed every day on the court, every moment we had, and we played so well,” said Sally. The Optus Australian Junior Davis Cup team were even more clinical than the girls with a 2-zip win against Argentina in the final. Kooyong’s Mark Veryth defeated Argentina’s Guido Andreozzi 6-3 6-3, with teen sensation Bernard Tomic sealing the win, overcoming Kevin Konfederak 6-4 6-3. “We’re pretty happy with that (defeating Argentina). I think they actually beat the main Australian Davis Cup boys, the big boys, this year, so it’s a good win. They probably grow up (playing) on clay, so it’s nice,” Mark said.
