2 Professional Sports

All of the professional sports teams in Las Vegas are very new to the city. The NFL team just had their inaugural season in 2020. Nonetheless, excitement and support for all the teams is widespread. Las Vegas residents are pleased to finally have a hometown team to root for!

NHL - Las The Golden Knights are a brand new NHL team that had their first season in 2017-18. During their inaugural season, they made it to the Stanley Cup Finals.

NFL - The Raiders were previously located in Oakland, California and just made the move to Las Vegas in 2020. The vote from NFL team owners was nearly unanimous to relocate the team.

Baseball - The Las Vegas Aviators are a Minor League team in the Pacific Coast League (PCL) and the Triple-A affiliate of the Oakland Athletics. They are located in Summerlin, , a community in Las Vegas. The Aviators play their home games at Las Vegas Ballpark, a new 10,000-seat facility.

WNBA - The Aces were also relocated a few times before landing in Vegas. Originally the Starzz, they switched to the Silver Stars, then just the - and then finally, they became the Las Vegas aces in 2018. The Aces are owned by MGM Resorts International.

USL - Las Vegas Lights FC The Las Vegas Lights FC is an expansion team for the United Soccer League who started playing in 2018. The team was founded by Brett Lashbrook and his family, Las Vegas residents.

Las Vegas is also home to the NASCAR racetrack Las Vegas Motor Speedway and the Orleans arena!

Public Education The Clark County School District is the fifth largest school district in the country. The district’s mission is to ensure “all students progress in school and graduate prepared to succeed and contribute in a global diverse society”.
