Martin Keyliner: Stephanie Tabat Cover Artist: Alex Ross Interior Artists: The Marvel Bullpen Welcome to the Ultimate Powers Book. What you hold in your hands is a distillation of months of rather peculiar research. The idea was to create an encyclopedic listing of the all the known super powers ever to appear in any comic book, science fiction or fantasy literature, film, or role-playing game. Once these were identified and catalogues, the next phase was to fill in as many holes as I could imagine. What super powers should exist but have not yet been used? I think I found most of the holes; you can discover some of these as the more bizarre listings in the Ultimate Powers Book. The final phase was adapting all this work to a form that you, the player, can use. Okay, here it is. In the Player’s Book of the MARVEL SUPER HEROES Advanced Set, there is a character generation system that gives you a choice of five basic character types plus a way of randomly determining what Powers and Power ranks they possess. Other comic book role playing games have their own systems. Most of them, I feel, generate characters that would have trouble besting the assistants of many characters in comic books today. When I was creating The Ultimate Powers Book, I wanted to create a system that would allow players to generate anyone—from a bona fide deity (in comics terms, naturally) to Aunt May. The character generation system that begins this book is what resulted from that desire. The Ultimate Powers Book is not a game in itself. Rather it is a supplement designed to enlarge the character generation system of the game you are already playing. Think of it as souping up for game mechanics. This book also retains its original purpose, that of a way to interpret existing comic book characters and hopefully create new ones. As I sit here banging away on the keyboard, I like to think that maybe somewhere in here in the genesis for the next comic book super hero. I’ve said enough. You have a new world to explore, the world of Ultimate Power. Enjoy! This book is not an exact replica of the original Ultimate Powers Book, as it contains addenda material and minor typographical corrections. Text appearing in red is from “The Ultimate Addenda”, an article by David Edward Martin which appeared in Dragon Magazine #122, June 1987. 2 CHARACTER GENERATION HOW WE DO IT 47 Surgical Composite — physically and genetically altered. Kitten - Recommendations for New Owners We would like to congratulate you on the acquisition of your new kitten. Owning a cat can be an extremely rewarding experience, but it is also a large responsibility for many years. We hope this handout will give you the information needed to make some good decisions regarding your kitten. First let us say that we are grateful that you have chosen our hospital to help with your kitten's health care. If you have questions concerning any subject related to your kitten's health, please feel free to call our hospital. Our veterinarians and staff will be happy to assist you. How should I introduce my kitten to its new environment? A cat is naturally inclined to investigate its new surroundings. You should initially limit the kitten's area of exploration so that you can closely supervise its actions. After confining the kitten to one room for the first few days, you should slowly allow access to other areas of the home. How should I introduce my new kitten to my other cat? Most kittens will receive a hostile reception from other household pets, especially another cat. "The existing cat must not feel that it is necessary to compete for food or attention." The other cat usually sees no need for a kitten in the household and these feelings are reinforced if it perceives that special attention is being shown to the kitten.

  • BASE SIZES March 2019
® BASE SIZES March 2019 BASE SIZES IN MATCHED PLAY GAMES In Warhammer Age of Sigmar, most distances are measured from one model’s base to another model’s base. In the vast majority of games, the actual size of the base is not terribly important, and you can use bases of whatever size or shape you prefer. The only possible exception to this is matched play games. This is because matched play games are intended to be evenly balanced contests, and in these circumstances having the same model on a different sized base can become an issue. To address this, on the following pages you will find a set of suggested matched play base sizes for all of the models in the Warhammer Age of Sigmar range. Don’t worry – you don’t have to rebase your model if it is not on the suggested base unless you want to (that’s why these are suggested base sizes rather than mandatory ones). If you prefer not to rebase your models, just assume that the model is mounted on a base of the appropriate size when setting the model up, moving it, or measuring any distances in a matched play game. For example, if you are a veteran player using an old unit that is mounted on 25mm square bases instead of the suggested 32mm round bases, you should set the unit up, make any moves, and measure all distances as if they were mounted on the larger 32mm round bases when you play matched play games. Although this may sound a bit complicated, in practice it is actually very easy to do.

The Great Lakes Avengers tried to take on Nain Rouge at his bar, but busted up the place and got arrested instead. Now Flatman, Big Bertha, Doorman and their newest recruit Good Boy are banned from super-heroics--but that didn’t stop them from finding out that Nain Rouge IS Councilman Dick Snerd, and it also didn’t stop Good Boy from kind of accidentally almost killing him a little bit.
