1 Contents of Cisco ANA 3.7.x Device Package 22.0 Cisco Active Network Abstraction (Cisco ANA) 3.7.x Device Package (DP) 22.0 provides new and enhanced device support and defect fixes for Cisco VNEs. The new support and defect fixes are described in this Readme.

DP 22.0 can be installed on the two Cisco ANA release trains and with any latest Service Patch / Point Patches installed on them.

 Cisco ANA 3.7.3  Cisco ANA 3.7.2

Note:  At any point in time, to get the most up-to-date device support, install the most recent DP that is available from Cisco.com on your Cisco ANA 3.7.2 or Cisco ANA 3.7.3 server. To verify whether you have latest VNE driver files, refer to Section 3. Cisco ANA 3.7.2  ANA 3.7.2.0.2 or above is mandatory to be applied on Cisco ANA 3.7.2 server for Device Package installation. However, it is recommended to apply Cisco ANA 3.7.2 Service Patch 1 (on Cisco ANA 3.7.2 server) to get the full list of defects fixes delivered in DP 22.0. (See Section 4 for more details)

 To get the latest Technology support on Nexus 7000 (STP, VLAN, trunking, BGP, OSPF, Link Aggregation) and Configuration and Image Management 1.2 feature support, you can upgrade to ANA 3.7.3. Cisco ANA 3.7.3  Reduced polling functionality will not work with ANA 3.7.3 SP2 [CSCua86342].Devices added with Reduced polling (if supported) would model as normal VNE. If ANA 3.7.3 SP1 is installed with DP16 or later DP’s devices in reduced polling mode are modeling properly.  ANA 3.7.3.1.0 or above is mandatory, in case, customer needs reduced VNE Polling support for Nexus 7000.  For channelization support on XR devices, installation of ANA 3.7.3.1.2 or above is mandatory on the Cisco ANA 3.7.3 server. ( Refer to CSCtw68083 in section 4 of the Readme ]

Note: Channelization feature support would not work if the Cisco ANA 3.7.3.1.2 or later is not installed on the server.  It is recommended to update to the latest ANA 3.7.3 service patch / point patch to get the full list of defect fixes delivered in DP 22.0 ( See Section 4 for more details ) Note: For details about the previous DPs, see the Section 6

1.1 New Software/Feature for Cisco Network Elements This DP provides the following new NE support. Note that jar files are cumulative (i.e.,) a jar that is revised for a newer DP contains all of the support that was contained in the previous version of the jar. (For example, cisco-70xx-ANA3.7.x-v2.0.jar contains all of the support that was delivered in cisco-70xx-ANA3.7.x-v1.0.jar.) Defect fixes are listed in Section 4.

The following table describes the new NE support provided in Cisco ANA 3.7.x DP 22.0 (Cisco-ANA-3.7.x-DP22.tar). The jar files in this DP can be installed on both Cisco ANA 3.7.2 and 3.7.3.

For a comprehensive list of all support provided by all DPs to date, see the Addendum: Additional Cisco VNE Driver Support for Cisco ANA 3.7.2 and Cisco ANA 3.7.3.

1.2 Upgrading to Device package 7.0 or later (applicable on Cisco ANA 3.7.2 / Cisco ANA 3.7.3) As part of the CSCts17715 fix, the registry path for ASR 1000 and MWR 2941 was changed. Due to this change, any customization related to the mentioned devices done prior to DP7.0 will be available in the configuration menus but will not work after the upgrade. In order to resolve this issue, the customizations should be reconfigured to align with the new registry path (cisco2//scheme /… ) . For example, ASR 1000 path is changed from “ciscovdc- cisco/ciscoASR1002/product/” to “cisco2/ciscoASR1002/product/”.

Note: pl. refers to Appendix B, Appendix C and Appendix D for technology related details.

1.3 New Support for Device Package Mechanism This DP provides support for the Device Package update mechanism for the following devices. (This means that these devices can support VNE updates from the Cisco ANA Software Download site on Cisco.com.)

2 Installing Cisco ANA 3.7.x Device Package 22.0 Notes for Cisco ANA 3.7.2 only:

 Nexus technologies require an upgrade to Cisco ANA 3.7.3. If you do not upgrade, these technologies can be disabled on Cisco ANA 3.7.2 so that the technology commands are not sent to Nexus 7000 devices. See Appendix B.  If your server is not running Cisco ANA 3.7.2.1.0 and contains units along with the gateway, after installing the DP on the gateway, you must delete all the jars under $ANAHOME/Main/drivers directory in the unit and restart the ANA using “anactl restart”. Note: If you are upgrading from earlier version of DP, perform the following steps before proceeding with DP installation

1. Login as anauser to ANA Gateway 2. Go the $ANAHOME/Main/drivers directory in the ANA Gateway 3. Delete Cisco-76xx_65xxIOS-ANA3.7.x-*.jar and Cisco-ASR10xx-ANA3.7.x-*.jar, by issuing the below command

ANAServer:/export/home/ana373/Main/drivers >> rm Cisco-76xx_65xxIOS-ANA3.7.x-*.jar ANAServer:/export/home/ana373/Main/drivers >> rm Cisco-ASR10xx-ANA3.7.x-*.jar (Refer to CSCtw89125 for further details)

For instructions on how to install (or uninstall) the DP, see the appropriate DP installation guide for your Cisco ANA release. The guides are available from two places:

 Go to Cisco ANA Software Download site on Cisco.com (click on hyperlink) and navigate to Cisco ANA Network Abstraction 3.7 > ANA Independent VNE Drivers. Choose the latest Device Package release available on Cisco.com  The Cisco ANA documentation site on Cisco.com.

3 List of Latest Driver Files on ANA 3.7.3 / 3.7.2 server post installation of DP 22.0 The following list reflects the latest versions of VNE driver files for Cisco devices. This includes the drivers that were provided with the base release of Cisco ANA 3.7.2 or 3.7.3 (without any DPs installed). Shaded areas indicate jars that were added /revised in this DP. To check if the system has the latest driver files installed, log into the gateway server and compare the contents of your $ANAHOME/Main/drivers directory with the list below.

Note: This table only lists the latest Cisco VNE driver files. Your directory may also contain third- party VNE drivers if you have installed any third-party VNE DPs.

Note: $ANAHOME/Main/drivers may contain VNE drivers with “3.7.2” or “3.7.3” in the jar filenames. Those drivers were installed during a 3.7.2 or 3.7.3 installation, or by earlier DPs (DP 1.0, 2.0, or 3.0).

When newer versions of the jars are released in a DP, they will be replaced with “3.7.x” in the jar filename. From DP 4.0 onwards, the ANA version in the jar file name will be shown as “3.7.x” to indicate the jars can be installed on ANA 3.7.2 or ANA 3.7.3.

Enabling Technology Registrations for Nexus 7000 after Upgrading to Cisco ANA 3.7.3 If the user has disabled technology registrations on Cisco ANA 3.7.2 and upgraded to Cisco ANA 3.7.3, the registrations must be enabled again so that appropriate technologies get modeled in ANA 3.7.3.

1. Log in as anauser , say ana373. 2. Type in the following commands in $ANAHOME directory.

10 Appendix D Specifying IP Addresses for which SNMP Trap and Syslog Events On many occasions, SNMP syslog’s are generated with source IP address other than the management IP address. In this case, the IP address has to be added in the “Events” tab while adding the VNE to the Server, so that Cisco Prime Network associates the events to the appropriate VNE

10.1.1.1 Reduced VNE Polling support for Nexus 7000 (available only on Cisco ANA 3.7.3) Installation of Cisco ANA 3.7.3.1.0 is mandatory so as to get the reduced VNE polling support for Nexus 7000 devices. Cisco ANA 3.7.3.1.0 is available on Cisco.com or by clicking this link.

Configuration Tasks for Nexus 7000 reduced polling VNE Creation

 Choose “Reduced Polling ( event-based)* “ in “Polling Method” pane under “Polling Tab” of the VNE Creation window  All VDC should be configured with Management IP address.  Every VDC in Nexus 7K should be configured with a management ip for EVNE to work. Example: interface mgmt0 ip address 10.1.1.1/26  The management IP address of each VDC should be added in the Event- Generating IP addresses box which appears in the “Events” Tab of the VNE Creation window

 Logging should be enabled on Nexus 7000 (default vdc as well as non-default vdc’s) and add the IP address of Cisco ANA 3.7.3 Server as logging server host.

Nexus7K(config)# logging server 5 use-vrf

Note: All the above steps are mandatory for events (Syslog/Trap) to work for Nexus 7k. This is applicable for “Regular Polling” also.

10.1.1.2 Support for ACE Card (Cisco 7600) Events

Add the IP address of the ACE card residing on the 7600 chassis in the Events tab as mentioned in Sec 10.1.1.1
