Placed before 3rd Cover 2 READING AID The new five digit numbering scheme proposes to capture the Sub- urban, holidays specials, trains run on Railway convenience, mixed trains and all such trains which are normally running on scheduled path and whose running is to be monitored or information made avail- able to the public/customers. The passenger carrying trains are renumbered as per the following five digits numbering scheme:— 1) ‘3’ as first of the five digits — EMU 2) ‘5’ as first of the five digits — Conventional 3) ‘6’ as first of the five digits — MEMU 4) ‘7’ as first of the five digits — DEMU In case of EMUs the first three digits indicates the stations between the subject service will run which are as under :— 1) 381 – Between Howrah-Uluberia-Howrah 2) 382 – Between Bagnan-Howrah 3) 383 – Between Howrah-Mecheda-Howrah 4) 384 – Between Howrah-Panskura-Howrah 5) 385 – Between Howrah-Balichak-Howrah 6) 386 – Between Howrah-Kharagpur-Howrah 7) 387 – Between Howrah-Midnapur-Howrah 8) 388 – Between Howrah-Kolaghat-Howrah 9) 389 – Between Midnapur-Kharagpur 10) 392 – Between Shalimar-Santragachi-Shalimar 11) 393 – Between Shalimar-Mecheda-Shalimar 12) 394 – Between Howrah-Haldia-Howrah 13) 395 – Between Panskura-Haldia-Panskura 14) 398 – Between Howrah-Amta-Howrah 3 DAYS OF RUNNING Some EMU Locals on HOWRAH-KHARAGPUR Section, HOWRAH- MIDNAPUR Section, SHALIMAR-SANTRAGACHI Section and HOWRAH-AMTA Section will run daily except on Sundays & National Holidays. On Saturdays only : 68003 & 68004 On Sundays only : 78001 & 78002 NATIONAL HOLIDAYS 15th August, 2nd October and 26th January CAUTION NOTICE 25000 VOLTS AC ELECTRIC TRACTION SECTION (i) Howrah-Tikiapara-Santragachi-Andul-Panskura-Kharagpur (ii) Santragachi-Padmapukur-Shalimar (iii) Santragachi/Andul-Baltikuri-Dankuni/Bargachia-Mahendralal Nagar- Amta (iv) Panskura-Haldia (v) Kharagpur-Midnapur Public are hereby warned to keep away from Electric Traction wires & fittings. They are also forbidden to approach or come in contact with such wire & fittings either directly in person or through articles such as poles, bamboos, metallic rods etc. as it will prove fatal. Steel masts for carrying traction wires have been erected on both sides of the track. Public are specially warned not to lean out, protrude any portion of their body outside the compartment to avoid getting hurt by these masts. Avoid coming and/or working within a close range of 2 metres from the electric fittings and Overhead electric works. Avoid travelling on foot-board of trains. Public are further cautioned that the S.E.
