Supporters, Sponsors and GLC Family,

As a staff, we would like to take a moment to reach out and say welcome to the Great Lake Canadians family. We are proud of the many successes that we have achieved in our first five years of operation and look forward to continued success as we enter our sixth year. Our program is built on the fundamentals of development with the best instructional staff in Canada. In the five years since its inception, the Great Lake Canadians baseball program has become one of the most recognized and respected programs in the country. In the short period of time since our program started, we have had tremendous success in sending players to post-secondary programs in the USA. Over 70 of our players have gone on to play at post secondary institutions which have provided them with the best possible fit for their athletic abilities as well as their educational aspirations. As well as sending players to excellent post secondary experiences, the Great Lake Canadians have also had eight of its players selected in the MLB Draft. Including last years selections Eric Cerantola to the (RHP - Oakville, Ontario) and Michael Brettell to the St. Louis Cardinals (RHP - Font Hill, Ontario). Across the border as well as across Canada, the GLC reputation of producing high- quality baseball players has spread; but it’s not just the calibre of baseball player that has impressed others throughout the baseball world. The Great Lake Canadians program takes tremendous pride in developing well-rounded young men who will excel at school and in life as well as on the . We have very high expectations of all members of our program as we stress the importance of responsible, respectful behaviour both on and off the field. When an athlete joins the Great Lake Canadians program, he, as well as his parents, becomes part of our “GLC Family”. We recognize the importance of working together with parents and coaches, as well as with the player himself in order to make this the best baseball and life experience possible for everyone involved. From their efforts and demeanour on the field, to their performance in the classroom we expect nothing but the best of our players. It is these high expectations that have made the Great Lake Canadians baseball program the tremendous success that it is. Thank you to all of our current members, our supporters and of course, or past players and their families on building our organization to what it is today. IT WAS A FAMILY CELEBRATION. As the Great Lake Canadians program wrapped up its fifth season on the field, it looked forward to an off-season celebration of epic proportions. In December, the organization hosted its inaugural GLC banquet to highlight the accomplishments of its teams and players throughout another successful season. “Our first banquet was a success, and a really cool night as a staff to celebrate what the program has done,” said GLC director of baseball operations Chris Robinson. “Having our past players and parents together with our current players was the best part of the night for me. Having our young players get a chance to interact with players they have followed and aspire to be is what it is all about.” The inaugural event featured ESPN and broadcaster Dan Shulman as the master of ceremonies, and hosted multiple big league players, including , Jamie Romak, alongside GLC coaches Robinson and Adam Stern, all in attendance to honour the players. Great Lake honoured 25 players, including 14U Black winners Nick Groves, David James and Dylan O’Rae, 14U Red winners Brett Hecimovich, Liam Adamson and Nolan McCrossin, 15U Black winners Jett Jarvis, Hunter Nurse and Riley Silva, 15U Red winners Brendan Cleary, Caleb Clark and Curtis McKay, 16U winners Tyler Mosher, Tanner Dawe and Josh Niles, 17U winners Ethan Baptie, Jacob Gajic and Owen Diodati, 18U winners Spencer Marcus, Brett Corbeth and Kian Bukala, Alumni Award winners Noah Myers and Adam Hall, Heart and Hustle Award winner Julio Vasquez, and the organizational Most Valuable Player Kyle Maves. The December evening not only highlighted those who won awards but also celebrated the family that the GLC program has become, with many alumni players in attendance and reunions abound. “For us, that’s a lot of what we attempt to develop here,” Robinson said. “It’s not just a place to come play baseball. This is a brotherhood, this is a fraternity, and not only with the players but also with the families, where we just believe our job is never done.” Added Stern, GLC director of player development: “Just because you’re done playing here at 18 years old or 17 years old, doesn’t mean it stops there. A big thing for us is the open-door policy, it’s the phone lines, the lines of communication, because players are going to go through a lot of adversity in their playing careers, and maybe beyond. “We want to be there, not only as coaches but hopefully as a shoulder to lean on, or ask questions to, and that’s important, to keep that going. As long as these kids know they have somebody they can lean on after baseball is done, or in the middle of their baseball career, is what we want.” The Great Lake Canadians are proud to call state of the art, indoor sports complex, Centrefield Sports their winter home. GLC players spend their off-season in this 45,000 square ft. facility in London Ontario, which offers 20,000 square ft. of professional turf along with 11 batting cages and a 2,500 Square ft. strength and conditioning area with state of the art equipment. With the space and amenities CFS provides, our players are able to work on every facet of their game. The size of the facility allows game like situations to be simulated, and members of our teams are able to develop a personalized off season weight training program using the extensive equipment. This past April, GLC was fortunate enough to hold our first ever “GLC Combine” this was an event by our staff for our players to measure results in a showcase setting. This type of event, done the right way at the right time of year, gives our players a great opportunity to experience the showcase/try-out type environment while evaluating the successes and development they have had to that point of the off-season. Thanks to the space and the quality of facility, an event like this is truly like no other in the country. The Great Lake Canadians have quickly developed into one of the top amateur baseball programs in the country. Having the top indoor facility in Canada as our winter home will definitely contribute to the further development of our program.
