Pg. 3 Highlights from Perrin, Texas (A Little of This & That Rally) Mitchell RV Park

The Mack’s and the Selkings did a great job hosting the October Rally in Perrin, Texas. Mike and Lynne arrived Wednesday to unload equipment and tons of homemade food that Lynne had prepared ahead of time. The next day Barb Selking brought more tempting food. In addition the room was decorated in a festive fall decor.

The first night was a potluck dinner. After each evening meal, Lynne and Barb led activities for the entire group. Also most every evening you would find D. Scott, S. Arnesen, C. Winchester, C. McGill, and the Watkins in a very competitive joker game.

Friday we caravanned to Mineral Wells to visit the “Crazy Water Mineral Water Co.”. I think most of us bought some water to bring home. When we listened to the owner explain the history and the documented benefits of the water, it sounded good. (Maybe too good to be true!) Anyway, we had fun and enjoyed the tour.

The weather was great.! Here we are outside of the historic “Crazy Water! Mineral Co.” listening to our tour guide, the owner. They have the mineral water plumbed into their house for Pg. 4 everyday use. This is most of the rally attendees who caravanned from Perrin to Mineral Wells! for the “Crazy Water Mineral! Water Co.” tour.

We also toured their day and ! over night Spa.

Mineral Wells has a very interesting historical background.! One of which is the Baker Hotel !pictured to the left.! The construction was started in 1925 and the hotel opened its doors to the public in 1929. The “mineral waters” brought people from far and wide to try the !famous “healing” waters.! There are plans to renovate the hotel. It can’t be too soon. It is in pretty poor condition.

Pg. 5 After touring the Mineral Wells area and having lunch, we headed back to Mitchell RV !Park.! That evening Mike and Andy cooked some great hamburgers on the grill while Lynne and Barb had great sides to accompany the !meal. ! After dinner Lynne had a great trivia game for everyone and then again a few hardy souls stayed late for Joker. !
