Built in 1949, on the National Historic Register, and now part of the revitalization of our Downtown, the Lynn Memorial Auditorium is the North Shore’s oldest yet newest premier entertainment venue.

2 Grand Army of the Republic Museum The Grand Army of the Republic Museum was erected in 1885 with funds raised by local Civil War veterans for what was the largest G.A.R. post in the country. Its crowning glory is the enormous 56’x46’ main hall which retains original furnishings and walls filled with photos of Civil War veterans. Abbot Hall 1 Constructed in 1876 and designed in the Romanesque style by Lord & Fuller architects, the Hall is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. In addition to serving as the seat of Marblehead’s town government, Abbot Hall has holdings as a museum. Among other local historical artifacts, it contains the original painting “Spirit of ‘76” by American artist Archibald Willard and the 1684 deed to Marblehead, as well as a marine museum and gift shop.

Jeremiah Lee Mansion 2 The Lee Mansion is a significant colonial structure. Fully furnished, it features elegant wood carvings, and is the only home to survive with its original 18th century hand-painted English wallpaper. The Georgian style mansion was built in 1768 by Jeremiah Lee, the wealthiest man in Marblehead, to celebrate his success in the salt cod trade. Owned and operated by the Marblehead Museum since 1909, the Lee Mansion is open to the public seasonally. Crocker Park 3 Devereux Beach Chandler Hovey Park/Marblehead Light Crocker Park, located off Front Street, provides a wonderful view Located off Ocean Avenue at the causeway to Marblehead Neck, Chandler Hovey Park overlooks the mouth of , and offers of Marblehead Harbor. Salem Maritime National Historic Site 2 When the United States was young, sailors, merchants, and privateers ventured all over the world from Salem to bring home new and exotic goods to America. In this nine-acre park, explore the historic buildings, wharves, and replica tall ship that tell the stories of the residents of Salem who helped build the foundation for one of the most powerful national economies in the world. Bakers Island Light Station Light Station is located on Bakers Island in Salem Sound, a 60-acre island with a large summer colony. The 10-acre light station is located in the northwest quadrant of the island, and was operated by the federal government for 216 years, beginning in 1798. Ownership of the historic light station was transferred to the Essex National Heritage Commission in 2014. Since then, Essex Heritage has been offering walking tours as well as overnight rentals on the site during the summer season. The lighthouse continues to operate.
